Author's Notes: Spoilers for: Episode 18 'Born this way'
Blaine skipped school to surprise Kurt.

Today Kurt would transfer back to McKinley High and Blaine knew his boyfriend – oh, dear lord, he loved to call Kurt so! – was nervous as hell, even when he was really looking forward to see his friends and becoming a part of New Directions again.

Blaine just couldn’t go to class, pretend that everything was normal when Kurt wasn’t next to him anymore. This would be a hard thing for both of them but Kurt wasn’t made for this cage that Dalton was. He needed to fly and only New Directions could make him fly again.

It was the best decision for Kurt and Blaine knew that, that doesn’t change the fact, that he would miss Kurt. Extremely.

So he came by, to wish his boyfriend the best and maybe take a bit of his nervousness. Burt let him in the house, saying that Kurt was in his room upstairs, reminded him not to be inappropriate – Kurt would sure as hell come too late, when they would do things right now – and left for work.

Finn greeted him, when Blaine passed by the kitchen and went on with his breakfast. Carole sent Blaine a loving smile and he smiled back, before he climbed upstairs and went to Kurt’s room.

He had left the door ajar and Blaine spotted the countertenor in front of his very big closet. Kurt took some clothes out of it, looked at that piece, shook his head and put the piece of cloth back – and he sang.

Feel the early morning madness
Feel the magic in the making
Why everything's as if we never said goodbye.

Blaine brought a hand to his lips, to stop himself, before he could break into laughter.

Kurt really sang to his wardrobe!

I've spent so many mornings
Just trying to resist you
I'm trembling now
You can't know how I've missed you,
Missed the fairy-tail adventures
In this ever-spinning playground
We were young together.

Kurt hugged a blue top – and Blaine knew it was from Marc Jacobs, Kurt loved that top and he was with him, when he bought it – and spin around, the top pressed to his chest. He laid the top next to a few other clothes on top of his bed, turning around again to his closet, to figure out, what he wanted to wear, since he finally could be fabulous even to school!

I'm coming out of make-up

The lights already burning,
Not long until the camera's will start turning
And the early morning madness
And the magic in the making...
Yes, everything is as if we never said goodbye.

I don't want to be alone that's all in the past,
This world's waited long enough,
I've come home at last!

And this time will be bigger,
And brighter than we knew it.
So watch me fly, we all know I can do it...
Could I stop my hand from shaking?
Has there ever been a moment with so much to live for?

Blaine couldn’t hold his laughter anymore.

Kurt gasped and turned around to see Blaine and he frowned: “Blaine! “

“Sorry, Kurt… it’s just… so funny, seeing you… singing to your wardrobe!”

Kurt’s cheeks turned bright red, so does his ears. “I-I was just…”

“It’s cool… actually it’s very adorable.” Blaine stopped laughing and stepped closer to Kurt.

The other boy let his gaze fell to his feet. “I’m looking like an idiot.”

“You’re not. You’re fabulous. You’re Kurt. That is just you being yourself. I… really wasn’t that surprised seeing you singing to your closet. I know you hated the Dalton uniform and wanted nothing more than to wear your own clothes to school.”

Kurt smiled at him and Blaine went to him, standing right in front of him.

“I wanted to see how you’re doing before your big day.” He raised his hand and caressed Kurt’s still red cheek. “I came to check if you’re okay or if you are terrified to go back, regretting the decision already, needing a bit encouragement but I see you’re doing fine.”

“Thanks, Blaine.”

Kurt smiled at him, before he wrapped his arms around Blaine to hug him tight. “I feel enough courage to do this.”

They laughed and shared a chaste, loving kiss.
End Notes: I got inspired by a comment, i read after "As if we never said goodbye" was posted, saying: Someone suggested it's Kurt singing to his wardrobe. :P

that was really, really cute x3

That would have been hilarious to see. But I could see him having done that, and then thinking he should sing it in Glee as a declaration of his triumphant return to McKinley!! I mean, come on, teenagers do this silly kind of stuff all the time!! I know I talk to inanimate objects and put on impromptu performances with my iTunes for whoever happens to listen through the heater vents (:
