A Brighter World

So basically we got an assignment in my English class to write a story based in the future and we have to take a "hot topic" from today and write what could happen with it in the future and it could be positive or negative. I did mine on gay rights and positive so I decided to hand in a fanfiction. Hehehe

Kurt strolled up to the set to meet up with his husband, Blaine. He said hello to security and asked how they were; they were good and happy to see him. He walked on the hot pavement decked out in his short sleeve navy button up and khakis, completed with his matching blue neckerchief and black suspenders that hung down from his pants instead of going over his shoulders.

He got to Studio 3 and said hello to security there. They asked how he was; he was good. He and Blaine had just adopted their first child. Her name was Sophie and she was a little over a year old. Their friend Santana and her wife Brittany were currently babysitting her. Whenever Kurt and Blaine took Sophie out in her stroller, people cooed and smiled the biggest smiles and congratulated Kurt and Blaine on their recent marriage.

Yes, Kurt was as happy as a clam; whatever that meant. He came up to Blaine's dressing room and knocked on the door one, two, three times. Blaine opened the door immediately, and when he saw his husband, he broke out into his trademark smile, all pearly white teeth and crinkled eyes. Kurt kissed him hello and took a step into Blaine's dressing room.

“I'm almost ready to go,” Blaine said, going over to pack up a few final things. “So dinner and a movie tonight?”

“Yup,” Kurt nodded his head once and smiled, rocking back and forth on his feet.

It had been a while since Blaine and Kurt had had some time for themselves, what with Sophie around now and both of their hectic acting schedules.

Kurt was currently starring as “Guylinda” in the acclaimed gender-swap version of Wicked and Blaine was working on a new television series. They were the talk of the town. Their faces all over billboards in Times Square, in magazines, on television, basically any where media could find, you could find Kurt and Blaine: The Famous Duo Who're Sweeping the Nation One Show At A Time. They decided the title was a work in progress.

Blaine's friend and costar Sam knocked on the open door.

“Hey man, just letting you know that a few of us were going to go play basketball tomorrow night then go watch the fight at the local bar. Wanna come with?”

Blaine looked at Kurt. “Will you be alright alone with Sophie?”

Kurt nodded, “You go have fun. After all, I'm going to see Chicago on Saturday with Rachel and Mercedes.”

“I'll be there,” Blaine looked to Sam and nodded his head in a confirming way once.

“Alright, alright,” Sam said, impersonating Matthew McConaughey. He headed out the door.

“I swear, they must only hire him for those silly impressions,” Kurt laughed.

Blaine smiled back and held out his hand for Kurt to take, “Well, let us go forth.”

“Onward and upward,” Kurt took his hand, and they swung their clasped hands together as they headed out the door and off the set. It was just as normal as normal could be. They were a happy, loving, and successful, married couple with a child. Everyone wanted that. Everyone wanted their happy endings, and they got theirs.

When they got to the movie theater, a little girl came running up to Blaine and tugged on his pant leg.

“Excuse me, Sir,” the little girl looked up at Blaine with large excited eyes, “Are you Blaine Anderson?”

“Why yes I am, sweetie,” Blaine kneeled down to talk to the girl.

“You were in my favorite movie!”

            “And which one was that?”

“The one where you saved the world and married Anne Hathaway! Are you two really married?”

“Me and Anne Hathaway? No, no, but this here,” Blaine motioned to Kurt, “Is my husband.”

The girl looked at Kurt once and smiled, “I know who you are too! My mommy and daddy love your plays. They come home with little booklets with your face on them.”

            “Playbills?” Kurt asked.

            “Yeah, playbills!”

All of a sudden, a rough looking man came up and snatched the girl, swinging her around in a circle.

“Gotcha! Sorry if she bothered you— hey I know you!” The man pointed to Kurt. “You're Guylinda!”

Kurt did a small bow, “Why yes I am.”

The man held out his hand for Kurt to shake, “Well nice to meet you. I'm Ted. And you must be his husband?” He pointed to Blaine.

Blaine mimicked Kurt's bow. “That's me,” he smiled proudly.

“Well it was nice meeting you two, but I have to get going. My wife is waiting in the car and she'll go crazy if I don't hurry. Have a great night and enjoy you're movie.”

            Ted smiled and left.

Kurt and Blaine stepped up to get their tickets. They got their popcorn and headed into the movie theater. They sat in the exact middle and held hands the entire movie.

No one batted an eye.
