It was a sunny spring day, the first in a long while, and Blaine took advantage of the good weather to go for a jog in the park. It had only been a week since he had met Kurt at the airport in Columbus, but they were constantly texting back and forth. Blaine really enjoyed getting to know Kurt through text messages, but he did wish that their schedules lined up a bit better and that they could go on that first date soon.
He was just rounding the bend when he spotted the unmistakable silhouette of Kurt jogging up ahead. Maybe it was because he had just watched Captain America: The Winter Soldier last night, or maybe it was just his latent dorkiness coming out, but Blaine put on a little sprint and when he was just behind Kurt he called out, “On your left.”
“W-what?” Kurt started and turned to look at Blaine. “Oh, it’s you. Hi! Sorry, I just get pretty absorbed in my music when I’m running,” he said with a blush, gesturing to his earbuds as he took them out and put them in his pocket.
“No worries. I did come up from your blind spot,” Blaine replied with a grin. “Fancy running into you here. Do you often take this trail?”
“Not as much as I’d like, no. I have to make do with my exercise bike most days, unfortunately, but my meeting was canceled this morning. It looked so nice out that I simply couldn’t resist.”
“Yeah, I get that. I’ve been stuck indoors for too long, so as soon as spring came, I put my running shoes on and flew out the door. Do you have much longer to go?”
“Not really, no. I was actually planning to leave the park at the next exit and grab a coffee from that shop around the corner. If you have the time, would you maybe like to join me?” Kurt asked, ducking his head and scuffing his foot across the ground.
“I would love to.”
And so it has been proven, once again, that I am a complete pushover and way too susceptible to peer pressure when it comes to fic writing. Enabling ftw! xD
Thanks for reading, I'd love to hear what you think!
