Kurt and Blaine had only been together for four months when a business trip sent Blaine back to Ohio. Kurt decided that, since it had been too long since he’d seen his dad, and the office was relatively quiet at the moment, he would accompany Blaine and they would get all the meeting of the parents over and done with in one fell swoop.
Blaine’s mother was thrilled to see them both when they arrived on Thursday evening. She had been cooking up a storm in preparation, and it did not matter that they had just had a snack on the plane, she still insisted on feeding them a proper home-cooked meal. They stayed with her until Saturday morning and then borrowed her car for the weekend and drove down to Lima to visit Burt and Carole.
They plugged in Blaine’s Ipod and, with both singing along, the two-hour drive flew by. They filled up at a gas station just outside of Lima, and Kurt gave Blaine directions for the last bit.
“Okay, now take a left at the next intersection.”
“Are you sure about that?”
Kurt laughed and looked at Blaine incredulously. “Yes, I am. Did you think I would forget the way to my childhood home?”
“No.” Blaine chuckled. “I just figured I’d make sure, considering your track record with choosing left and everything.”
