Author's Notes: Originally posted on Tumblr. Based on a commercial done by Mike O'Malley and a tweet from Chris Colfer. Wow. I haven't written fanfiction in a long time. Not sure I'll be making a habit out of it, but we'll see. I wrote this little drabble for Tumblr and decided to post it over here too. Someone posted this video of Mike O'Malley and this tweet from Chris and my brain went into overdrive. It's kinda silly and kinda sweet (like me) so hope you enjoy!
"Kurt? Have you seen my fog machine?" Kurt heard his father shout from downstairs.

He gulped. "No?" He called back, hoping his father wouldn't catch the hesitation in his voice.

He went downstairs to find Burt rifling through the closet by the kitchen.

"You didn't let Rachel borrow it again, did you?" he called, pushing aside the mop and broom to check in the way back.

"I'm right here, dad. And of course not, get up off the floor." Kurt tried to remain cavalier and stepped into the closet to help him up.

Burt sighed and dusted himself off. "Well, I can't find it and the game's on tonight."

Kurt backed up and jerked a thumb over his shoulder. "I'll check out in the garage. Maybe Finn left it out there after that big halftime show number..."

Burt smiled appreciatively at him. "Yeah, maybe. Thanks kid. I'll check upstairs again, maybe I put it in the guest room closet..." he broke off mumbling and headed up the stairs.

Kurt let out a quick breath of relief and went out to the garage to retrieve the fog machine his father had found on sale and bought on impulse from the back of the car. Pushing aside a couple crumpled Rocky Horror scripts and the shiny sai swords Finn had given him for Christmas when he'd discovered Kurt's old Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collection, Kurt heaved the machine from the back of the car.

Narrowly avoiding overturning the box of "Welcome back, Kurt!" cupcakes, Finn had sworn he'd gotten rid of after the glee soiree last week, Kurt hooked up the machine to check that he'd cleaned it properly. The machine whirred for a moment before blowing a nice big puff of fog at his car.

He smiled and unhooked it. "Found it!" He called to his father, hefting the thing towards the house. Now, unless anything went wrong, and it shouldn't, Burt would never know that Blaine had talked him into converting it into a bubble machine. And, perhaps more importantly, Finn would never know that such a feat was possible.
