Blaine didn’t cheat on Kurt, not actually, despite what he had told Kurt. No he didn’t kiss another guy and he certainly didn’t have sex with him. He could have, Eli made it very clear that he wanted Blaine and if Blaine was being completely honest part of him wanted Eli. But he loved Kurt too much to act upon those feelings. He didn’t know why he told Kurt he has hooked up with Eli, maybe it was because he was feeling guilty over wanting him but it was probably because he was beginning to think Kurt didn’t love him anymore and he wanted to prove himself wrong, he wanted proof of Kurt’s love. It was incredibly stupid though as all that happened was he ended up breaking both his and Kurt’s heart and pretty much lost all his friends in the process.
He had taken to sitting in the back of Glee and tried to ignore the dirty looks he got from the veteran Glee clubbers. He tried to ignore everything in fact, at first Mr. Schue would ask him to sing and Blaine would just shake his head and say he couldn’t as he had a sore throat. Eventually, Mr. Schue stopped asking. Blaine didn’t notice when the dirty looks began to change to looks of pity and concern. He didn’t realise that they noticed that he started wearing jeans and t-shirts to school, he didn’t know they noticed he stopped gelling his hair. He didn’t know they noticed he barely ate anymore and that he looked at his feet when he walked. He didn’t know they saw how broken he was.
Blaine did know that the school had called his parents about his rapidly declining grades; he knew this because his dad yelled at him for hours until Blaine simply and quietly got up and walked away. But he didn’t know that Mr. Schue had called Burt and Carole and told them, he didn’t even know that Mr. Schue knew they were better parents to him then his own. There was a lot Blaine Anderson didn’t know, but mainly he didn’t know how many people cared about him. He thought Kurt was the only one and he had gone and ruined that. Another thing he didn’t know was that almost everybody was calling Kurt, he didn’t know that one day when he had reached rock bottom that Tina took his photo and sent it to Kurt. He didn’t know that when he saw that photo Kurt dropped everything and flew to Lima. He didn’t know when he walked into the choir room in five minutes that Kurt would be there waiting for him. He didn’t know glee was cancelled that day to ensure no one would interrupt their talk. He didn’t know that Kurt was missing an important meeting that could ensure him a promotion to go to Lima.
He didn’t see Kurt when he first walked into the room, he didn’t see him until he went to sit down in his usual seat in the back corner and it was already occupied. When Blaine saw Kurt his heart started to beat again, he felt like he started breathing again and with his first breathe he exhale sounded suspiciously like “Kurt.”
“Oh Blaine.” Was all Kurt could say after seeing his ex-boyfriend in person for the first time in months. If he had passed him on the street he would have barely recognized him, he was a shell of his former self.
“What are you doing here?”
“I’m here to see you.”
“Why?”
“Because Tina called me & told me that you weren’t doing well, and so did Sam, and Artie, and Brittany, and Sugar, and Unique and Mr. Schue and my parents and Finn… and some girl named Marley?”
“But why would they call you?”
“They’re worried about you, they care about you and so do I.”
Blaine scoffed at that.
“You don’t think we care?”
“I don’t think you should.”
“Of course we should.”
“No, you shouldn’t. I’m…”
“You’re what Blaine?”
“I’m worthless.”
“Oh, Blaine, baby that’s not true.”
“It is, I hurt people and I’m worthless.”
“Everybody hurts people Blaine it’s part of life.”
Blaine shrugged.
“I wish I could take it all back, I wish I had never lied to you.”
“Lied to me? When did you lie to me?”
“When I told you I was with someone.”
The two boys locked eyes; Blaine could see the shock and confusion in Kurt’s eyes.
“You were never….?”
“No, of course not Kurt, I wouldn’t do that, I couldn’t do that!”
“Then why would you tell me you did?”
“Because I knew that even though you didn’t love me anymore you wouldn’t break up with me out of loyalty so I gave you a reason to.”
“You think I don’t love you anymore?”
“You never had time to talk to me; you’d hang up without saying ‘I love you.’ You’d ignore my calls, what was I supposed to think Kurt?”
“Why did you talk to me about this?”
“Because you couldn’t, I never let you get a word in did I?” Kurt answered his own question. “Oh god, this is all my fault. I was a horrible boyfriend.”
“No Kurt, you were perfect I just wasn’t good enough for you. And when you realised that you stopped loving me. It’s ok. I understand.”
“Blaine, look at me. I never stopped loving you; I will never stop loving you.”
“Really?”
“Really.”
“But I’m…”
“You’re smart, talented, sweet, hot and perfect.”
Blaine looked like he was about to say something but before he could Kurt leaned forward and placed a small sweet kiss on his lips.
“I love you so much Blaine, and I’m so sorry that I was ignoring you if I ever do that again call Rachel and have her smack me upside the head, ok?”
“Ok.”
“You know she’d do it.”
“I know.”
“Blaine baby, I need you to do one more thing for me but you might not like it.”
“I’d do anything for you.”
“I want you to go to therapy.”
“I’m not crazy, I don’t need therapy.”
“I know you’re not crazy baby, but you have depression and I think you might still have some unresolved issues from Sadie Hawkins.”
“I don’t want to talk about that.”
“I know you don’t but baby you have to.”
“Why can’t I just talk to you about it? God, I’d even be willing to talk to Cooper about it.”
“Of course you can talk to me about it but I can’t help you in the way you need. Please baby, I really need you to do this when you call yourself worthless it really worried me and I think this will help you realise you’re not.”
“Yeah ok, I’ll go.”
Blaine Anderson didn’t know a lot of things but he knew that Kurt Hummel loved him and as long as that was true he knew that nothing else mattered.

This is perfect, i mean, it is. I loved how you tackled the break up (on Blaine's view) because, at least, a lot of people think that people just cared about Blaine because he was Kurts boyfried (and well, at the beggining of your story, with all dirty looks, it was) but people changed and saw how broken he actually was, and how much he did change. And The Klaine conversation was very cute... i miss my Klaine :(.... BUT ANYWAY AWESOMEEEEEEEEEE!
This is great. One can easily see why Blaine would misconstrue the lack of or poor communication between Kurt and him as Kurt not caring or loving him anymore. And then using the cheating charade to give Kurt an out. This is actually brilliant even. Thank you for sharing this.
I am so glad that Kurt came to help him and that everyone actually did care about Blaine. I love the character of Blaine and am a little upset at Glee for having the whole cheating storyline so this story at least made it better. I look forward to reading your future stories.
