They all stood gathered in the airport. The glee club, Mr.Shue, The Berry’s, Burt and Carole. they were saying good-bye to Kurt and Rachel who were headed to New York and NYADA to start their new life, a life Blaine would have to wait a year to join.

Blaine stood to the side watching as all the glee kids hugged and said their good-byes. Kurt had unshed tears in his eyes while Rachel was a ball of dramatic emotion. Mr.Shue wished them luck and told them to keep in touch and departed quickly as he had to get home to a very pregnant spouse, the former Ms.Pillsbury.

He watched as Kurt turned to Finn and smiled sadly. Finn would be staying in lima for a while and helping Burt with the shop and attending community college but said he would do his best to join them in NY next year with Blaine. Finn opened his arms wide and Kurt threw himself into them gripping him tightly. They had grown so close over the past 2 years, Finn didn’t want to see his brother go.

“IM gonna miss you little brother.” Finn said hugging him close. Kurt smiled and pulled his head off Finn’s chest to look at his brother.

“IM gonna miss you too big brother” he said, a few tears falling from his eyes. Finn let him go and moved on to Rachel who burst into tears all over again. Kurt shook his head and laughed looking towards Blaine and smiled at him. Blaine smiled back, tears gathered in his eyes instantly, and he watched him jump into his fathers arms.

“IM gonna miss you so much dad” Burt hugged his son tighter trying is hardest not to let his tears fall.

“I’ll miss you too kiddo. promise you’ll call right when you land and when you get to the apartment and everyday.” Kurt laughed at his father.

“I promise dad.” He looked up at his dad and let his tear fall. He was going to miss him so much. “I love you dad, your my hero” Kurt whispered to Burt burring his face in his chest like a small child. Burt’s voice cracked when he replied.

“You know i will sweetie.” She said holding him tight. They to had grown so much over the past 2 years. Kurt loved her and was so glad there would be someone there for his dad while he was gone. Kurt kissed her cheek and whispered in her ear.

“I love you...mom” he breathed out the last word like a weight had been lifted. Carole burst into tears kissing his face all over telling him she loved him too. Burt was laughing next to them a wide smile on his face.

As Kurt pulled away from his family and turned toward Blaine he felt is heart swell and his throat close up, his eyes blurred over with tears yet to fall. Kurt walked over to where Blaine was standing off to the side away from the group, tears streaming down his face, heart pounding in his chest.

‘im not ready for this’ Blaine thought to himself as the love of his life came closer, ready to say goodbye. He wasn’t sure if he could make it a whole year without his boyfriend by his side. He had to, he had to let him go. Had to let him go and make his dreams come true, after all it would only be a year till he too could leave this small town and head to NY to be with his beautiful boy.

“Kurt” he said voice completely broken, his tears finally falling down his face. Kurt’s heart broke at the sound and sight of him and ran the remaining short distance to his boyfriend.

“Oh Blaine” he cried and gathered him up in his arms holding him tight against him. Blaine buried his face in Kurt’s neck, breathing in the smell hoping to memorize it knowing he wouldn’t be able to smell in for a while.

“Im going to miss you so much” Blaine corked out. Kurt let out a shaky breath, fresh tears falling down his face. He pulled back slightly and rested his forehead against Blaine’s.

“Im gonna miss you too baby” He said hand resting on Blaine cheek. Blaine blushed and lowered his eyes at the term of endearment. Kurt chuckled lifted Blaine’s chin so there eyes locked.

“I love you more then anything Blaine.” Kurt said and pressed a sweet kiss to his boyfriends lips. Blaine shook slightly in Kurt’s embrace. He grabbed the back of Kurt’s head pulling him closer and letting his fingers tangle in the hair at the base of Kurt’s neck. Kurt pulled back and smiled and tangled their fingers together and brought their hands up to his lips and kissed Blaine’s knuckles.

Blaine let out a gut wrenching sob that broke Kurt’s heart.

“Blaine please, you promised you would hold it together.” Kurt muttered against his forehead where his lips were pressed. Blaine shook his head and sniffed loudly.

“Im sorry i know i did but i can’t help it. Im going to miss you so much Kurt. I...I love you.” Kurt smiled sadly and wiped Blaine’s cheeks free of tears.

“You know i’ll call and text every day and we have skype. i’ll be back for thanksgiving and Christmas...” Kurt’s voice started to break and more tears made there way down his face. “and..and..” It was his turn to let out a sob and nestled his face into Blaine’s chest.

‘Please don’t leave me’ Blaine thought. He would never say it out loud in fear of Kurt hearing and deciding he would stay. He couldn’t let Kurt give up on his dream. He had to be strong. Blaine took a deep breath and wiped his face of tears. He pulled back from Kurt and put his hands on his shoulders. The boy he loved looked sad and broken but he knew that once he was safe in his new place in NY he would start to cheer up realized he made the right choice.

“Kurt, i love you so much and im so proud of you for getting into NYADA and getting out of this little town. I need you to go get on that plane and have the best year ever. i need you go and find us a new coffee shop, a good music store and find the best take out places.” he wiped his thumb over Kurt’s cheeks clearing away his tears that finally stopped falling. “I need you to go and get all that ready for us. Us Kurt, Us. in a year we will be together in New York and i need to know your going to have all that done cause you know we wont have time to do it when i get there cause i plan on keeping us locked up in the bedroom for a while.” He winked and Kurt laughed sniffing.

“Your so amazing Blaine. I love you so much.”

“I love you too Kurt.” they shared another kiss sweet and passionate. They knew this would be the last kiss they shared for a while and they need to make it good. But sadly it was cut short. Burt placed his hand on his son’s shoulder.

“Its time to go kiddo.” Kurt pulled away from Blaine and nodded at his dad. Kurt gathered up his backpack and carryon, giving his dad and Carole one last kiss and hug. Rachel was hugging her dad’s good-bye and thats when Blaine noticed the other glee kids had left. It was only The Berry’s, Burt and Carole, Finn, and himself. Rachel made her way to the gate ready to board. Kurt smiled turned away following his best friend.

“Love you little bro!” Finn yelled waving. Kurt laughed and turned around.

“Love you too big bro!” he yelled back. Burt and Carole yelled to him simultaneously.

“Love you!” Kurt smile.

“Love you!” his eyes landed on Blaine. His eyes filled with tears again and he mouthed ‘I love you’ to him from across the crowded airport. Blaine did the same in return. Kurt blew him a kiss and Blaine made to catch it and held it to his heart. Kurt smiled sadly and turned to leave.

Blaine watched his boyfriend walk away, head held high. Something bursted inside Blaine and he sprinted forward dodging in and out of all the people.

“KURT!” he yelled “Kurt wait!” Kurt stopped and turned around to see Blaine running toward him. When Blaine finally reached his scooped him up in his arms and hugged him tight. He pressed his lips to Kurt’s in a hard kiss, his tongue slipping past Kurt’s lips and tangling with his. It only lasted a short while, both the boys knowing they were still in small town Ohio.

“Sorry,” Blaine breathed smile on his face. “i just needed one more.”

“No need to apologize” Kurt kissed his cheek. “I love you” he said again. Blaine would never tire of hearing it or saying it.

“Love you too” he sighed “ok go, go be fabulous. call me when you land?”

“Of course.” After one last kiss they parted ways and Kurt boarded the plane. Blaine made his back towards Burt, Carole and Finn.

“Cheer up bud, he’ll be back for thanksgiving soon enough.” Burt said putting his arm around Blaine shoulder.

“Yeah Blaine come over we can watch the game.” Finn said appearing at his side. Blaine smiled up at them. They had become some what of a second family to him and he was glad to see that even if Kurt wasn't around they still wanted him there.

“Thank you Carole, I would love to.”
