Author's Notes: Just a short, oneshot about the events that follow Kurt and Blaine's "I love you's" in the Lima Bean.
Kurt tried to appear busy looking through the Les Miserables sheet music book, but he couldn't hide the fact that he was staring shamelessly at Blaine on the other end of the aisle. The younger boy watched as his boyfriend scanned the entire "Top 40" section of the music store, holding a hand to his chin as he weighed his options. Kurt took in a short breath—he looked incredibly handsome.

Kurt's mind was swimming with the words from his conversation with Blaine at The Lima Bean that had taken place only a few moments ago. He still couldn't believe it was real—Blaine had actually said that he loved him. Loved him. Not "like" or "adore". Just real, heart-pounding, knee-weakening, honest-to-God love. Kurt couldn't help but smile at the mere memory of the words coming from Blaine's full, grinning lips. Kurt had nearly choked on his coffee, but he didn't mind—at least he would've died happy.

Looking back, Kurt wished he had reacted differently. His response was a bit delayed from his initial shock. Blaine completely took him by surprise. But that was the beauty of it all, he supposed. Kurt always envisioned candlelight and roses under the Eiffel Tower with a string quartet playing in the background whenever he dreamed about someone confessing their love to him for the first time. Now, however, Kurt wouldn't have wanted it to happen any other way. It wasn't until today that a local coffee shop seemed like the most romantic place in the world to him. Perhaps it was the way Blaine said it that made it so special—so simple, so confident. Regardless, it happened and Kurt was still enjoying the blissful lightheadedness of the moment.

"What do you think?" Blaine suddenly appeared by Kurt's side holding up a few copies of music. Kurt was pulled back to reality quicker than he would've liked, causing him to jump and nearly drop the Les Miserables book. Blaine didn't seem to notice.

"Oh, um, let me see," Kurt stammered as he collected himself. Blaine held up the first piece of music.

"'Perfect' by Pink—the clean version, of course. There'll be little kids around," Blaine chuckled a bit and lifted up the next choice. "'Breakeven' by The Script—good song, but it didn't really scream "Six Flags" at me," He held up the final piece of music with a wide grin. "And 'Speechless' by Lady Gaga, which I know will automatically win your vote."

Kurt stared. His mind really wasn't focused on the issue at hand. He would much rather bask silently in the glory of being in love with someone who actually loved him back for once. Oh, what Kurt would give to hear Blaine say those words one more time…

Blaine's expression dropped. Kurt completely forgot that he was supposed to respond to the question. Blaine took a quick glance at the music in his hand, the delay clearly making him uncomfortable. "Are they all that bad?"

"No!" Kurt responded immediately, forcing himself to focus on reality. "I say go for Gaga. Not even a theme park can resist her genius."

"Sounds good to me," Blaine chuckled softly and placed the other two options on the shelf beside them. He noticed Kurt still holding the Les Miserables book in his hands. The dark haired boy easily pulled it from his grasp. "You want this?"

"Oh!" Kurt had forgotten he was holding it. "Well, yes, but—really, Blaine, you don't have to—"

"Don't be silly—it's on me," Blaine gave Kurt a wink before he started heading toward the register. He looked over his shoulder and gave a wide, childish grin. "I have a Frequent Buyer card."

Kurt couldn't help but giggle and follow behind Blaine as he went to pay. "Of course you do."

The cashier swiped Blaine's card and handed him a plastic bag with the sheet music inside. Blaine smiled graciously and nodded with a meaningful "thank you". Kurt watched carefully as Blaine interacted with the cashier, cocking his head slightly to the side. He had seen Blaine in a good mood before, but never quite like this—he was positively glowing. Kurt idly wondered if his whimsical demeanor had something to do with him. Before he could over-analyze the situation further, Blaine gently nudged him with his shoulder.

"Let's get outta here," He smiled, making his way toward the door. Kurt internally shook his head for what seemed like the millionth time that afternoon—he needed to stop spacing out. Kurt nodded in response and left the store at Blaine's side.

The parking lot was busy—everyone wanted to be out in the nice pre-summer weather. Blaine inhaled deeply as the pair started making their way toward his navy Chevy, taking in the sweet smelling air. Blaine began rambling on about his audition tomorrow and Kurt was grateful that he had an excuse to stare at him now. The sun beat down on his tanned skin and caused his hazel eyes to sparkle. Kurt loved the way Blaine used his hands a lot when he spoke passionately. Kurt loved the way Blaine spoke so eloquently when he got carried away in conversation. Kurt loved the way Blaine spoke only to him, like no one else around mattered. Kurt just loved Blaine. And today he had finally gotten the chance to let him know.

"…But I'm not too worried. I worked for them last year, so they know me already," Blaine finished as the two got into his car. Kurt nodded aimlessly, hoping that Blaine hadn't realized his lack of attention. Blaine began pulling out of the parking lot and turned onto the main road. Kurt stared blankly out the window, a small smile tugging at his lips.

Kurt decided that he loved being in love, and it was only a couple months ago that he assumed he would never find someone like Blaine—someone who understood him and cared for him. Yet, here he was, sitting in a navy Chevy, driving down the road with Blaine Anderson at the wheel after just admitting their love for one another. It seemed too good to be true. Blaine drove one handed and let his free hand grasp Kurt's, letting their fingers intertwine between their seats.

"Did you mean what you said back at The Lima Bean?" Kurt blurted out suddenly, slurring his words together slightly. His eyes widened noticeably as if he instantly regretted asking—but he felt like he needed to. Just to know it was real. Blaine, however, didn't seem as taken aback from the question. He just smiled a warm smile and glanced at Kurt with genuine eyes.

"Of course I did," He assured him in his low purr of a voice. "Otherwise I wouldn't have said it."

Kurt blinked. This was really happening. He stared down at their clasped hands, watching as Blaine's thumb stroked the back of his palm. Kurt was so content at that moment that he completely forgot how to speak, much like his delayed response at the coffee shop.

"Kurt, is that what's been bothering you since we left the coffee shop?" Blaine dropped his voice and adopted a more serious tone. Kurt looked up from his lap.

"Bothering me?" He repeated.

"You just seem a little…" One side of Blaine's lips lifted upward in a lopsided grin. "…dreamy."

"Oh," Kurt giggled as he turned toward the window. His cheeks burned as they flushed pink. "Sorry."

"Kurt," Blaine released a sigh and put the car in park once they pulled into Kurt's driveway. The lighter haired boy was stunned to see that they had already reached his house—he hadn't even realized they had been driving that long. Blaine turned in his seat so that he faced Kurt and continued to hold the hands of his boyfriend, looking into his eyes with all sincerity. "I didn't mean to rush anything. I wasn't trying to elicit a response—I just wanted you to know how I feel about you."

Kurt blinked again, dazed. Blaine was without a doubt the most charming and adorable person he had ever met. All Kurt could do was lose himself in Blaine's hazel eyes—his words were failing him again. But after a while, Kurt's silence was beginning to make Blaine nervous so he continued to ramble on.

"I'm not very good at romance," Blaine shrugged sheepishly as he absentmindedly gave Kurt's hands a squeeze. "But I know how I feel. I've never really… said that to anyone before so I don't know how it's supposed to go. With you being gone for Nationals...I don't know—I started to realize that my feelings for you are…stronger than I thought they were. I've never felt like this around anyone else but you, Kurt."

Kurt wanted so badly to open his mouth and tell Blaine that he felt exactly the same. He had never really been in love with someone before—Kurt didn't even know what it was supposed to feel like. All he knew was that Blaine made everything better. He felt different around Blaine—happier. And, for Kurt, that was the real deal.

"Blaine," Kurt finally found the power to speak. He chuckled lightly and blushed. "I don't feel rushed. In fact, I've probably loved you longer than you've loved me. I always dreamed you would say that to me, but I never actually thought it would happen."

Blaine cocked his head slightly and watched Kurt with adoring eyes as he continued speaking. "No one's ever said that to me before… I don't really know what it feels like to be loved by someone."

Blaine watched Kurt carefully as he continued to speak. His eyebrows came together for an instant as if he were upset by Kurt's previous comment. "You make love seem so obvious, Blaine. You're perfect—you make everything feel perfect and… it scares me."

Blaine's eyebrows came together again, worriedly, as he squeezed his hands back. "Kurt…"

"It scares me because I'm not used to things being this perfect for me," Kurt smiled gently and inhaled. His voice was barely a whisper. "I feel like everything will disappear if I so much as touch it…I've never had this much to lose before."

"You won't lose me," Blaine responded immediately, almost desperately. He leaned forward slightly, making sure Kurt heard his words before he continued. "You don't have to be scared—I promise."

Kurt leaned in as well, turning his body at an awkward angle so that he could face Blaine from the passenger seat. Blaine inched closer and closer to Kurt's face, but did not let their lips touch. Instead, he pressed his forehead against Kurt's, fixing his eyes on the pair in front of him.

"Can you say it again?" Kurt giggled breathlessly. "Just so I'm certain this isn't a dream?"

Blaine released the smallest of laughs as well and lowered his head slightly so that his lips briefly touched Kurt's. Electricity pulsed through their veins. "I love you."

This wasn't a dream, Kurt finally decided. Indeed, it was reality. Only this time, it didn't suck.
