Kurt and Blaine are college friends. They live in the same building just a few doors away from each other. Blaine likes Kurt a lot, and one night, as he's leaving Kurt's dorm, he makes a bold move that could decide his fate.
Blaine had been over at Kurt’s dorm, which was really more of an apartment for the past three hours. They had been watching Breakfast At Tiffany’s and eating junk food and laughing together. As the movie came to a close, Blaine felt a small amount of sadness come over him. He didn’t want to leave. He wished he could just stay there with Kurt all night, talking, laughing, and maybe if he was lucky, cuddling.
“Gotta love Audrey Hepburn!” Kurt said awaking Blaine from his daze, and then,
“Blaine, are you okay?”
“Yeah… Of course! I’m great! And yeah, Audrey’s the best!” He smiled.
Kurt looked so adorable in his flannel pajama pants and his t-shirt, Blaine so wanted to just reach out and touch the panels of Kurt’s stomach, but he knew better than to do that.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” Kurt asked with a concerned look on his slightly pink face.
“Yeah, yeah. I’m fine. I should probably get going though… It’s… It’s getting late.” He admitted.
Kurt, still looking concerned, implored, “Okay. Well, I’ll walk you to your room.”
“Oh, you don’t have to do that. I’m sure I can make it the whole hundred feet away on my own.” Blaine joked, smiling gently.
“Well at least to the door then.” Kurt answered smiling back at Blaine.
They opened Kurt’s bedroom door and Kurt led Blaine down the short hallway to the front door. Usually at the end of an evening spent together they would hug and say goodbye and that would be that. However, tonight the energy between the two young men felt different. It caused Blaine to do something he never would have thought possible—
Just as Kurt was turning toward him to give him a hug, Blaine stood up on his tip-toes and threw his arms around Kurt’s neck and pulled him in for a kiss. A very open-mouthed kiss, as Kurt had just opened his mouth to say goodbye, and, well, Blaine just went for it.
Kurt’s eyes flew open in surprise and then closed again.
After about four seconds of kissing Kurt, Blaine realized that he was actually kissing him and it wasn’t in his head. He jumped backward away from Kurt and stared at the linoleum floor for about two seconds before throwing the door open.
He got out a quick, “Sorry”, and still not making eye contact ran down the hall. He shoved his hand in his pocket to get his key, and quickly realized… his key wasn’t there.
“Shit…”
He knew exactly where his key was. It was sitting on Kurt’s coffee table where he had placed it when he had first arrived at Kurt’s. He looked back down the hall toward Kurt’s door, which he had closed behind himself, and sighed.
______
Kurt stood in the exact place where Blaine had left him. His heart was still racing, his eyes still wide. He was shocked to his very core. He stood there contemplating whether or not that had really just happened when there was a light knock on the door.
Kurt’s eyes flew to the door, and then he remembered something. He slowly looked over at the coffee table, and sure enough, there was still a little gold key laying there. He knew without a doubt who would be outside his front door.
His hand gently shook as he reached for the handle, and a small smile came across his face. The door was now open. Blaine was staring at his feet, but that couldn’t hide the dark red blush that was slowly crawling all the way to the tips of his ears. Some of his curls were starting to break through their gel prison as well.
“Did you forget something?” Kurt asked smirking at the adorable boy standing in his doorway.
“M-m-my k-key.” Blaine stuttered, more embarrassed than he had ever been in his entire life. He refused to look Kurt in the eyes, and he could feel himself getting redder by the second.
“Oh…?” Kurt inquired, “Is that all?”
Blaine’s eyes shot up to Kurt’s, surprised by what he said. Kurt was grinning and he looked Blaine up and down once before grabbing him by the wrist and pulling him back inside and into another kiss.
This one was sweeter, and they both sunk into it, breathing each other in. Kurt’s arms wrapped around Blaine’s waist and Blaine’s were once again around Kurt’s neck.
And then, still holding on to Blaine, Kurt pulled away enough to look into his hazel eyes—
“I don’t think you’ll be needing your key tonight after all.”
This was really good. I love watching Kurt and Blaine come together. I look forward to reading your future stories.
That was so cute. :)
