Blaine didn't even know when, why and how it hit him, but it did. While laying in bed with his better half, in their shoebox apartment in New York, he enjoyed a moment of peace.
The last weeks, or months, had been more than stressful, even for him, and although he enjoyed living and constantly moving, the few moments he had spent with Kurt, just talking, laughing, kissing or simply being had been the most fulfilling ones. Despite sticking together and moving to New York, it had never been exactly what they'd dreamt of. No broadway, no red carpet, no upper-class life. They were just Kurt and Blaine, living in Queens off he money they earned with two jobs each. Sure, it wasn't ideal, but they were working on it. And coming home every night and seeing the person they loved the most, made up for it.
Blaine moved his arms firmer around Kurt and pulled his boyfriend's back against his front. He smelled like vanilla and something sweet that he couldn't quite recognize, but it was delicious anyway. Taking a deep breath right next to Kurt's neck, he closed his eyes and enjoyed the warmth of another body, this particular body, against his own.
But not only his boyfriend made him feel that comfortable, not anymore. When they had moved to this enormous city, they had always been there for each other, because there hadn't been anyone or anything else to turn to. Now, though, Blaine thought with a smile on his face, they had everything they needed. They had friends, great ones, jobs to pay the bills from, a small flat with enough room to live in, their dreams, that hadn't really ever stopped kicking their butts whenever they got too lazy, and each other. They had a life.
Kurt sighed and turned around to face him. "You're thinking too much again. Why is that?" His eyes were small from sleeping and his hair was a cute mess. Blaine pressed his lips against his boyfriend's for a quick kiss and touched Kurt's collarbones with his thumbs. "You say that as if it was a bad thing!" Blaine's smile reached his eyes, he could feel it. It was Kurt's favorite thing about him, he'd told him once. His boyfriend grinned right back and sat up, his boxers stretching over his lap. "Well, I suppose you were thinking happy thoughts, due to your smile, my dear?" Always such a tease. Kurt pulled Blaine on top of him and ran his hands through the mop of curly, dark hair. "I guess you'll never know."
He winked and pressed his mouth against Kurt's neck, kissing him there and licking a bit at his pulse point. Kurt shuddered and moaned, barely audible. "I don't even really care, just, please don't stop."
