Kurt didnt believe him at first. Why would he? Werewolves are taught to be mythical monsters that tormented humans. Blaines patterned bow tie and matching suspenders didnt exactly fit the description. Naturally, Blaine insisted that he was telling the truth. It was the right thing to do, even if it made him look like a lunatic.

He didnt have to tell Kurt, he could have kept it secret until at least graduation. But his conscious told him no. They trusted each other too much.

No, Kurt never fully believed him until he transformed in front of his eyes.

They were on a little date on the town. The more fun they were having, the more time started slipping away from them. Blaine knew they should have gone home earlier, especially on the night of a full moon. By the end of the evening, he could feel it crawling in his veins. The need to rip off all of his skin prevailed above his human instincts. Kurt noticed a change in his demeanor when they entered his Navigator. He reasoned that it was the food they ate, so he offered Blaine a comment or two, then left to drop him off at his house.

He knew it was serious when Blaine urged him to pull over on the road.

It was a dark, starry night with only a few clouds lingering in the vast sky. The air was crisp, but not cold. Blaine doubled over the sidewalk, a look of complete panic on his face. Kurt felt sick just looking at Blaine so vulnerable. He was worried, hands already reaching for the phone in his jacket pocket.

"No!" He heard Blaine say. Kurt didnt realize Blaines eyes were focused on him. There was something in them, something like burning embers before sparking into a fire, something feral flickering behind his pupils. "No phones, please, just-"

He let out a loud groan, hobbling out of the streetlight. Kurt wanted to run to him, but he only took a few steps before Blaine spoke up. "Stop, dont get near me. Please, please just-"

"Blaine, let me help you." Kurt was panicking now. He didnt know if he should listen to Blaine or his intuition. He stood from a few feet away, watching him groan in agony on the ground.

"Please, just go. You- you really need to leave now." Blaine said calmly, more collected than he should have been. Kurt scoffed at him, heart racing, ready to dial 911 as soon as possible.

"I cant leave you-" Kurt started to say, but was cut off by the sound of ripping clothing and bones being broken. Blaine was curled into a ball, arms covered in long, curly hair. Kurts eyes were as wide as the full moon when Blaine looked his way. His face was covered in fur also, nose sticking out like a dog. His eyes were glowing, embers bursting into a bonfire.

He could only stand there, breathing staggered, shocked, and in wonderment.

He never questioned Blaine after that.

Though the weirdness of it, their relationship only strengthened after the outburst. Blaine felt more comfortable and free around Kurt because of it. It brought a unique sense of intimacy, sharing such a large secret. After a few months, they found a nice routine. It was pretty identical to before, but there was one crucial rule: Dont plan dates on the full moon.

Kurt loved the new affection and closeness, although he had his worries about other matters. He was never brave enough to ask Blaine about them. He was too scared of what the answers might be.

One night however, he decided to go for it. It was a quarter moon, and Kurt had convinced his father let him stay at Blaines house. The room was quiet except the blowing wind and the slide of their lips. Kurt had rolled Blaine over on his back, holding him tightly like he never wanted to let go. Blaine pouted as he pulled away, lips swollen, pupils dilated. He looked ethereal in the low lighting. Kurt was reluctant to pull away from his sweet embrace, but the questions in the back of his mind were too much for him.

"When you turn into, you know. . ." Kurt started shyly, whispering so quietly Blaine could barely hear.

"I know," Blaine answered softly. He set a hand on Kurts naked back and rubbed the skin tenderly.

"How much control do you have?" His face must have shown something that his words didnt. Blaine could read the fear coming from his boyfriend. He never wanted Kurt to be scared of him, but he could understand why. He wasnt human, not entirely. That alone could scare anyone off.

He had to be honest.

"Not a lot." He swallowed. Kurt looked him in the eyes, dark blue connecting with brown. He was nervous and a little scared, but he didnt stop.

"Have you ever, like. . ."

"Ive never killed anyone. I promise."

Kurt swallowed, breaking eye contact to set his head on Blaines chest. He listened to his heart beating, his human, loving heart.

"Have you hurt anyone?"

Blaine paused, eyes locked on the ceiling. He kept rubbing Kurts side, anchoring himself.

". . . I cant remember most of the nights. . . when Im- when Im that monster. All I know is that I have never killed anyone." He sounded strained, tired. Like he spent days thinking about what he had hurt in the past. He had no control over it, he could only sit on the guilt of the possibilities.

"Would you. . ." Kurt trailed off, not knowing how to put his thoughts into words without making Blaine feel like an absolute monster. "If you were changed, and you didnt know. . . would you hurt me?"

Blaine paused once again. He moved his hand to Kurts hair, other palm cupping his face. Kurt picked his head up and let Blaine pull him in for a kiss. It was chaste, lips sliding against each other with ease, pulling apart almost as fast as they were brought together. No matter how short, it still felt sincere and passionate. His lips tingled with fireworks, eyes opening slowly to face Blaine.

"Never," He spoke with conviction, like he knew it for a fact. "I would never, ever hurt you."

The words felt like lead in the air. He felt safe in that moment, so content with everything in his life up to that point.

He trusted Blaine, and loved him with all of his soul and body.

But he knew that wolf was a feral beast. The look in Blaines eyes that night of the full moon haunted him. It was wild and unpredictable.

He was sure the wolf was fine with hurting anyone.

Whether they were close to Blaine or not.

Kurt knows to lock his doors during the full moon. Kurt knows not to leave his house, and he knows not to contact Blaine. Even when its not night time, his boyfriend is still on edge. Kurt is more careful with him on those days.

At night, he would open his window. His room was on the second floor, so he assumed it was safe. Kurt never told Blaine he did it, he knew it would get him in a fuss. All Kurt would do was stare out to that gloriously large moon, listening closely to the sounds that carried on the wind.

Most of the time it was still and quiet. But others, in the dead of night, there was a sharp howling that made his hair stand on end. He knew it was Blaine. It couldnt have been anything else.

He knows how to protect himself from his own boyfriend. His fears of being eaten or maimed by the man he loved loomed in his deepest thoughts.

And thats what bothered him the most about it.

The howling in the night just felt like ice water being poured on his head. It was a reminder that Blaine wasnt normal, that he wasnt human.

He was part animal.

Kurt reasoned everyone was. . . at least to some extent. Blaine was just unlucky enough to show it.

Different full moons affected Blaines mood. The Storm Moon in February and the Hare Moon in May were the most calm. On the Wyrt Moon and Barley Moon he became more aggressive, eyes flashing those embers that made Kurts breathing stutter.

The Blood Moon was the worst. It was October, the charged, spiritual energy in the air enhanced the affect of Blaines curse. He was snappy and unfocused. His kisses were demanding, and his actions a little rough. It was never too bad, although Kurt could see the monster within him begging to be brought out.

He never noticed the small changes before he knew Blaine was a werewolf, but after it was all that he saw.

It had been a tense month. The Blood Moon had taken Blaine and set him off since the last new moon in September. They werent together a lot that month. Blaine was worried he would snap, and Kurt could tell he needed space. When they did get together, it was purely sexual.

Blaine was easily aroused with his senses heightened, and Kurt didnt complain. It was intense and passionate and wonderful. It almost made up for all the time they spent avoiding each other.

The whole week leading up to the full moon they spent apart. Kurt felt restless the whole time. He knew it was the wolf that kept them apart, but his insecurities made him blame himself. Blaine wasnt doing any better. He was hurting, his whole body ached from his head to the tips of his toes. He knew it was going to be bad all month.

Blaine was scared once the day rolled around. He felt so much anger in him, and it was all for nothing. He felt tense and stressed even though there was nothing to be upset about.

Tonight is going to be a nightmare. He thought, chewing on the inside of his cheek until it drew blood.

At lunch he sat next to Kurt and leaned his head on his boyfriends shoulder. His neck hurt, and he just wanted to disappear. Kurt kept giving him looks, some worried, some confused, and some he couldnt read. He never pushed Blaine off though, he let his tired boyfriend lean on him and hold his hand under the table.

When the rest of the Glee club took up their trays, they were the only ones left at the uncomfortable lunch seats. Kurt took this time to lean his head on top of Blaines and kiss his forehead.

He knew they were probably getting weird looks from their peers, but he didnt care. Kurt wrapped his free arm around Blaines shoulders and whispered to him.

"Its okay. Youll be okay."

Blaine responded by squeezing Kurts hand.

Kurt always knew what to say.

He really should have gone to bed earlier. He really should have known not to have the lights on past nine on the full moon. He really should have kept better track of time.

It was eleven-thirty. Kurt had gotten caught up finishing an essay, he didnt want to get a late grade for it. He felt so compelled to do it, he didnt track the time. Usually his father would remind him to pack it up, but he was in D.C. with Carol. Finn took the opportunity to stay the night at Rachels, Kurt promising to cover for him.

He was all alone.

No, Kurt was only reminded of the time by the sharp, angry howling that sounded loudly through the night.

All of the blood in his veins ran cold, a shiver making its way up his spine, hair standing up on end.

After he calmed down enough to move, he scrambled for the lights. Blaine told him to always keep the lights off at night. No matter what.

Suddenly, he felt very unsafe in his house. Even after he flipped the switch, the feeling persisted. Another howl, closer then before.

He put his books away in the darkness, being as quiet as the old floors could manage. He was almost to the stairs when he heard noises coming from the back porch. Loud thumps and objects being moved around. Snarling. growling.

The worst idea was to turn around and acknowledge the noise, but he couldnt help himself. Kurt was too scared and too paranoid to ignore it. . . because he knew exactly what it was.

Cold, glowing, ember eyes stared at him through the glass of the sliding door. The creature blinked, cocking its head. He felt his heart stop.

The creature- Blaine, Kurt thought- stared at him with interest. They stared at each other for a few heavy moments. Kurt could feel the tension choking him, making it hard to swallow, too scared to breathe.

The wolf snarled, baring its teeth, saliva dripping grotesquely out of its maw. It averted its eyes, turning around to take a few steps. Kurt stood still as it looked over at him again. Its eyes were filled with a blazing, savage inferno. It ran right at the glass door.

Kurt knew then he had to have been dreaming. It had to have been a nightmare. He quickly threw his book bag on the ground and sprinted out of the living room.

The sound of glass breaking was deafening. It brought an instant breeze of cold into the house. Kurt ended up in the kitchen, heart beating so loudly in his ears he could barely focus on the sounds of his most precious things being broken in the next room.

It was dark in the house. The only light was from the moon, but that wasnt enough to light his way. He had no idea what to do, he never thought of asking Blaine about this situation, he just hoped with all of his might that it would never come to this.

Claws on hardwood floor echoed through his ears. They grew closer, and closer. Kurt knew the front door was only a few feet away, but what good would it do being outside? He reasoned it was better then destroying the house.

Kurt slowly stepped towards the front door.

The werewolf was right on his heels. Kurt turned around with a yelp, dodging as the creature lunged at him. It knocked into the cabinet, sending various cookware flying. Its long, curly hair looked like Blaines, but that was the only resemblance. The hell hound was nothing like his boyfriend, it snarled at him with absolute hatred.

Kurt started to run towards the stairs, creature sprinting after him. It slammed into the wall as Kurt went into his fathers room. Tears started to spring in his eyes as he reached in the closet for his fathers pistol. Blaine was already at the door, scratching and running into it. The door cracked, breaking into two pieces before the wolf could get through.

Kurt had the gun loaded and aimed, hands shaking horrendously.

"Blaine," He said just above a whisper. "Blaine, please dont do this."

The creatures ears perked up at the sound of his voice, it looked almost curious. Then it lunged at him again, claws out, teeth wet with spit. He dodged it, but his side got caught on the wolfs claws. He swore, putting his hand over the wound. Blood soaked through his shirt, he gritted his teeth.

"Blaine!" He shouted at the beast. His fear was slowly subsided into sadness as it dawned on him that the possibility of death was great. "You said you would never hurt me."

He sounded defeated, pointing a gun at the beast of the man he loved. It blinked, cocking its ears like it had before. Kurt started walking backwards out of the room, creature following.

"Is this really how you want this to end?" Kurt started crying, face certainly red and blotchy. He couldnt help but see Blaine in the beast, even though he was almost unrecognizable.

The beast whined, huffing as Kurt backed into a wall. He was trapped now. Kurt had to make a choice. The wolf looked somehow effected by his words.

"Its me," He tried, wiping the tears off his cheeks with a bloody hand. "Its Kurt. Blaine, its me."

It huffed, whining again. It made sudden, jumpy movements that startled Kurt, almost making him pull the trigger. Almost.

Kurt put the gun on the ground, closing his eyes as he accepted his fate.

"Remember when we met?" The creature let out a short bark, whining and scratching at the floor. "You took my hand, and," Kurt took a moment to gather himself. The wolf came closer.

"And you bought me coffee, even though you knew I was spying." He chuckled at the memory.

"And," He sniffed. "When we finally got together, I thought I was dreaming it for at least a week. . ."

He was waiting for it to make the final lunge to finish him. There were sounds of rustling and snarling and growling, but nothing came at him.

Kurt opened his eyes to find it right in front of him, eyes no longer glowing with anger, but with sadness.

"I love you, Blaine." He saw the wolf start to change. "I forgive you, I know you didnt mean any of this."

Kurt collapsed to the floor in exhaustion, hiccups rising in his throat from crying. The wolf howled, fur shedding, bones breaking back into a human form. In a matter of minutes, Blaine was panting on the floor naked.

Kurt sobbed as he scrambled forward, throwing his arms around Blaine. Blaine was crying, shaking violently as he felt Kurts bloody shirt against him.

"Kurt," He said raspily, weakly. "Kurt, youre bleeding."

Kurt nodded, but simply added nothing but "I know."

"Im so sorry," Blaine sobbed into his shoulder. They held each other tightly, Kurt practically dragging Blaine into his lap.

"I know," He kissed Blaines forehead, cradling him in his arms. Both of them were shaking.

"I dont know why I-"

"I know,"

Blaine glanced briefly at the gun laying uselessly by the wall.

"You were going to let me. . ."

". . . I know."

Blaine put his arms around Kurts neck, hugging him closely, lips inches from each other.

"I love you so much, Kurt." Blaine pleaded, tears rolling off his delicate face. "Im so, so sorry-"

Kurt interrupted him with a soft kiss. He put his hands on both side of Blaines face, eyes really connecting for the first time that night.

"I know, Blaine," Kurt breathed, closing his eyes. "I love you too, so much."
