Once upon a time in a faraway land there lived a young boy named Kurt. He had beautiful chestnut hair and big sky blue eyes that always shined with awe and wonder. Kurt loved to sing. It was his favorite thing to do. He would often sing aloud, exploring around the land where he lived.
The village folk would laugh at him. Quite often they would call Kurt strange or different. The people of his town didn’t like different. As he grew older, Kurt’s song grew softer, quieter. He no longer sang while strolling the town, his blue eyes no longer sparkled; he felt sad and alone.
One day he decided to venture off into a bordering kingdom, past the boundary of the land that he knew. He had heard great tales of this marvelous city, where people embraced each other; a place where different was good.
As he entered the city gates a soft hum, a distant warble, flooded his ears. He ran towards the music, the sweet sound of complementing melodies growing louder. He pushed through the crowd and found there, in the center of the city, a group of smiling boys singing with exquisite voices accompanied with graceful moves. His gaze fell upon the boy at the center, decked in impeccable clothing, a crown adorning his head and his eyes regained that unmistakable shine once more.
The boy’s eyes found Kurt’s and his smiled widened across his face. His eyes never left Kurt as their song continued. As the song came to a finish he walked up to Kurt, hand extending as he grew closer.
“Hello,” he said. “I believe I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting your acquaintance. My name is Blaine.” Kurt took his hand and shook it, smiling coyly at him.
“Kurt.”
“And guess what happened then, Lizzie? Lizzie?”
“Oh, honey, I think she fell asleep on you there,” Kurt said, walking into the room and over to the bed.
Blaine’s shoulders slumped, a pout forming on his lips. “But I didn’t even get to finish my story.”
“Poor baby,” Kurt cooed rubbing a comforting hand across Blaine’s back. “I can help you finish the story,” he said, dropping onto Blaine’s lap and wrapping his arms over his shoulders, a happy grin breaking over his face as his husband’s arms easily slipped around his waist.
“Oh, yeah?” Blaine teased, nuzzling their noses together.
“Mhhmm,” Kurt assured him. “And they lived happily ever after,” he whispered.
“And we lived happily ever after,” Blaine corrected, placing a lingering kiss to Kurt’s lips and smiling against them.
