Author's Notes: I wrote this ages ago and thought it would be a good idea to put it up here as well. It was originally inspired by a piece of fanart but sadly I can't find it :( I wrote this ages ago and thought it would be a good idea to put it up here as well. "Blaine! Blaine wait!" Puck bellows, boots slipping on the linoleum floor as he chases Blaine down the hallway and into the locker room. Blaine stops, shoulders shaking uncontrollably as he wraps his arms around himself, trying to hold himself together. "I fucked up Noah, I really really fucked up and I-" He takes a shuddery breath and almost chokes on the exhale, battling against the sobs that threaten to rip through his chest.

Puck watches warily as Blaine turns, his eyes are red rimmed, wet with tears just beginning to fall. He looks tired and desperate and just this side of breaking, shattering completely. "It's okay Blaine, it's okay we- we can fix it it'll be alri-" Puck begins but halts abruptly when Blaine looks at him quizzically, a look of disbelief and almost anger shadowing his features. "Why are you- why are you comfortingme? It's my fault, I broke his heart. Shouldn't you be I don't know beating me up or something?"

Puck readies himself to get angry. Yeah the guy cheated on his boy but did he really think-? And then it dawns on him. He watches Blaine try to stand a little straighter, try to stop his hands from shaking as he clenches his jaw and closes his eyes, readying himself for the blow. Puck realises that it's not that Blaine thinks that he would beat him up but that if he did, he'd take it.He thinks he deserves to be beaten black and blue for what he did to Kurt.

Before he even has time to think Puck is gathering a trembling Blaine in his arms, shushing him quietly as he sobs and clings to the back of his shirt. Blaine is heavy against him, like he doesn't have the energy to hold himself up anymore and Puck holds him close, heart breaking for the boy who hates himself for hurting the love of his life. Blaine's breathing is shallow and Puck has always thought Blaine was small but never this tiny, he looks thin, pale and more vulnerable than he's ever seen him.

Sudden anger flares up inside him. Puck has been back a day and he can tell that Blaine is far from okay, so why hasn't anyone else noticed? Everyone is so busy fighting for some trophy and their high school reputation that they haven't even noticed that someone who's supposed to be their friend is slowly fading away. Blaine slumps against him and Puck considers just how alone Blaine has been, without Kurt, without friends who cared to noticed that he was slipping away from them.

"I can't-" Blaine chokes "I'm tired and he was gone and no one even-" Blaine sobs harder and Puck just holds on, willing Blaine to be strong. He's not alone anymore, Puck swears it.

"He's gone, and it's my fault. He's gone, forever..."

"Shh, it's okay, bud. I've got you, I'm here."
