Author's Notes: Last night I was driving home from my aunt, and the tiny trip and the weather was really inspiring, and this is the result :)
It was the beginning of December. Kurt and Blaine had spent the evening at Breadsticks having a quiet night out away from parents, siblings, school, chores and the stress of sectionals coming up. Blaine had looked really handsome in his plain black shirt and Kurt had told him multiple times, making Blaine do his little shy disbelieving laugh every single time, and Kurt loved it every single time. When the meal drew to a close, Blaine paid the check and held up Kurt’s coat for him to access it easier making Kurt give Blaine a hopeless look, but Blaine just continued to hold up the coat as Kurt put his arms in the sleeves and giving him a peck on the cheek while Kurt buttoned the front.

When they got outside it had gotten really cold, just around freezing temperature, so they hurried to Kurt’s car and got in.
“Damn it’s cold!” Kurt said while rubbing his arms through the coat.
“Yeah, just turn on the car and lets get warm.” Blaine agreed. While Kurt started the car Blaine looked at the sky through the window which was a bit foggy.
“Oh great, now it’s raining.” Kurt said from the driver’s seat as he drove out of the parking lot “I’ll just go with you inside to get that scarf I forgot at your place last time right honey?” Blaine’s attention had gone from Kurt to the rain. Something seemed odd about the rain, as if it was falling too slow. He wiped his window with his hands and his eyes grew.
“It’s snowing! Kurt look, it’s snowing!” Blaine said happily.
“That’s not snow Blaine. It’s just rain or slush at most.” Kurt mumbled concentrating on not slipping on the wet road.
“Kurt, come on. It’s definitely snow. Look how big it is. Rain is not that big.” Blaine argued, still staring wide eyed at the sky.
“I’ll go as far as to say it’s slush. Look at the wind shield, it just splashes and melts when it hits.”
“That’s what snow does when it hits something warm Kurt.” Blaine said staring at the street lamps where the snow was more distinct. Blaine was mesmerized by the hundreds of flecks in the lights. Blaine had always loved snow. Driving in snow, especially on a road with no street lights at night where it would look like you are going through a wormhole in space when the snow is caught in the head lights.

There were many snowflakes in the air by the time they got to Blaine’s house. Kurt got out of the car and suddenly a fast wind hurled the snow right at his face. He froze on the spot and scrunched his face.
“Alright, alright, you win. That is snow.” He shook his head and walked towards the door and heard Blaine’s door slam but no footsteps behind him. He turned around and saw Blaine staring at the snow in the lights.
“Are you coming?” Kurt yelled at him. But Blaine just kept staring at the snow dancing lazily in the wind. Kurt admired his suddenly eight year old boyfriend for a couple of moments before Blaine slowly turned to Kurt.
“Kurt, come here.” Blaine said making a gesture. Kurt walked unhurriedly towards Blaine keeping their eyes locked. When he got there Blaine threw his arm around Kurt’s waist and put his head on his shoulder and looked back at the snow.
“Isn’t it pretty?” Blaine said in a faint voice.
Kurt gave a little laugh “Yeah, it is”. He squeezed Blaine’s shoulder and kissed his hair. “It’s really lovely”. Kurt’s eyes fell on Blaine and his mind started wandering. A year ago he had just sung with Blaine for the first time at Dalton. He had dreamed about this even then: Standing in the first snow of Christmas with a boyfriend, with Blaine as his boyfriend.
“What?” Blaine laughed when he caught Kurt staring at him.
“It’s just… No, it’s silly” Kurt shook his head smiling and stared back at the sky.
“I bet you a kiss it’s not” Blaine said with a smirk. Kurt turned his head back to Blaine. He hesitated for a moment, as he didn’t know where to begin.
“You know” Kurt started. “Last year at Dalton at this time, all I wanted was to be with you. After you interrupted my homework to sing ‘Baby it’s cold outside’ that evening, I had this picture of us sitting in my room, drinking hot cocoa with marshmallows, doing homework, maybe singing a little” Kurt laughed at the memory and turned his gaze to the ground for a moment before returning it to Blaine. “I wished on a lot of stars last Christmas, and standing here with you is sort of a dream come true.” Blaine snaked his arms around Kurt’s neck and lifted himself up to kiss him lightly on the lips for a moment before he let himself back on the ground.
“There’s your kiss. I told you it wasn’t silly” Blaine smiled looking Kurt in the eyes. Kurt leaned down and kissed Blaine for a moment as he held Blaine’s waist and pulled him closer in the cold. They broke apart and stood in the snow for a while before heading into Blaine’s house hand in hand.
