Author's Notes: Thanks for reading! :) Merry Christmas!
Kurt sat back against the seat in his dad's car as they drove back to Lima. The radio was playing silently as the snow lightly fell to the ground. Kurt was looking out of the window. He watched all of the Christmas decorations go by him in a blur. He wasn't paying too much attention to anything. The only thing on his mind was he'd be home in about thirty minutes. Home to Blaine.
He had originally told Blaine that he wouldn't be in for Christmas because his flight got delayed because of a snowstorm. He wanted to surprise Blaine for Christmas and it was close enough. It was Christmas eve and he just couldn't get him off of his mind. He hadn't been home since August when he left for New York City with Rachel. He stayed back in New York City during Thanksgiving but now he had about five weeks off from school so he had to come home. It was necessary for him so he could finally hold Blaine again after all of the time spent away from him. The radio played one song in particular that he was very fond of this year.
“I'm dreaming tonight of a place I love even more than I usually do...and although I know it's a long road back I promise you...” Kurt sang along and looked over at his dad who was just smiling.
“I'll be home for Christmas,” he quietly said. After what seemed like an eternity his dad pulled into the driveway of the house. Kurt got out and closed the door lightly. His dad grabbed his bag and led them up to the front door. His dad walked into the house and put Kurt's bag down by the door and held onto the plastic bag that had groceries in it. When he walked into the house he smelled Carole's cooking and heard Finn and Blaine laughing in the living room. Rachel had come home a few days earlier but she wasn't here. His dad walked into the living room and he stayed behind for a second.
“Hey guys. The snow is starting to pick up Blaine, you should stick around for the night. I'll call your mom and let her know,” Burt said.
“They're actually away on a business trip. It doesn't matter. I don't need to call,” Blaine said. Kurt's heart broke at that. He felt bad knowing now that Blaine's parents weren't around for Christmas...again. It must have hurt Blaine to think that Kurt wouldn't be home until the day after. Kurt knew though that Blaine loved surprises and would love this one. Kurt stepped forward into the living room. Blaine looked over at him and his jaw dropped. Kurt smiled and looked at him.
“Kurt? But...you weren't supposed to be home until...” A smile slowly crept along Blaine's face and Kurt felt his heart flutter at the smile.
“I know. I wanted to surprise you though.”
“You certainly have,” Blaine said. Blaine got up from the couch and ran at him and enveloped him in a tight hug. Kurt wrapped his arms around Blaine's torso and squeezed back. Kurt didn't see Finn or his dad leave the room. Blaine shook a little in his arms and he realized that Blaine was crying. He let Blaine go and pulled back and held Blaine's face in his hands and wiped the tears away with his thumbs.
“I hope they're happy tears,” Kurt said smiling realizing he was now crying himself.
“They are. I haven't seen you in so long. I miss holding you and being with you,” Blaine said. Kurt nodded and looked down at the ground.
“I miss you too,” Kurt said looking back up. He still held Blaine's face in his hands and kissed him. Blaine's hands landed on Kurt's waist and he pulled Kurt closer.
“You better be staying the night,” Kurt said seductively. Blaine chuckled and laid his head on Kurt's shoulder and kissed his neck a few times.
“Why wouldn't I be?” Blaine said smiling. Kurt wrapped his arms around Blaine's neck and Blaine's arms were around his waist still. They started to sway to the music that was playing lowly.
“I love you so much Kurt. I'm so happy you're finally home and we're able to be together again,” Blaine said.
“I love you too. I'm happy to finally be back with you too. I hope you'll like your Christmas present. It took me awhile,” Kurt said smiling.
“I don't need anything. You already gave me my Christmas present,” Blaine replied.
“How so? I haven't given it to you yet,” Kurt said.
“The only Christmas gift I wanted this year was to have you home for Christmas and in my arms again. I got that Kurt...I got you back here with me. All I want for Christmas is you...and I have you,” Blaine said. As if on cue the song by Mariah Carey started to play. Kurt laughed and held onto Blaine tighter. Blaine took his head off of his shoulder and looked up at Kurt smiling. Kurt leaned down and kissed Blaine tenderly.
“Merry Christmas Blaine,” Kurt said.
“Merry Christmas Kurt,” Blaine replied and kissed him back.
