Passing Afternoon

When I suggested you come over to study for finals, I really thought that this study session would be more of an after school special and less like, you know, an actual study session, Blaine comments, eying the stack of textbooks on his desk warily. -- Blaine helps Kurt study! Kind of.

Author's Notes: this is a short drabble that was my first official journey into the Glee fandom.
"When I suggested you come over to study for finals, I really thought that this study session would be more of an after school special and less like, you know, an actual study session," Blaine comments, eying the stack of textbooks on his desk warily. Kurt had been thrilled with the idea of studying together, bringing as many textbooks as he could fit into his bag. And while Blaine appreciates his boyfriend's enthusiasm for academics, after a week or so of chaste kisses and tightly clasped hands, he was really looking forward to a few uninterrupted hours alone with him.

Kurt rolls his eyes and grabs the first book on the stack before sitting calmly at the head of Blaine's four-poster bed, legs crossed neatly.

"As enjoyable as kissing you is, Blaine, I doubt it would help me very much with this Geometry final," he states, opening the heavy textbook and flipping through its pages to find the correct chapter. "In fact," he continues, "I'm pretty sure it's only going to hinder the entire process."

Blaine chuckles lightly, but he has to admit that his boyfriend is right.

"Then I fully expect you to make it up to me once these pesky tests are out of our way," he says, smirking a little and shrugging off his blazer, draping it over the back of his desk chair. Kurt looks up briefly to glare at him, but his gaze shifts into something softer at the sight of Blaine forcibly shaking his curls loose of their extensively gelled confines. He would never admit it aloud, but there's something about seeing his boyfriend a little tousled and unkempt that makes Kurt's heart drop lower into his chest, pressing painfully against his ribs with the overflowing amount of affection.

"Come here and help me with these test problems," Kurt says, patting the empty space next to him.

Feeling playful (and vengeful), Blaine is happy to comply. But rather than sit beside Kurt, he nudges his boyfriend to scoot a little further up on the bed, making room for Blaine to slide in behind him. Kurt tenses a little at the closeness of their bodies, the warmth radiating from where Blaine's firm chest is pressed against his back. Blaine smiles a little and stretches his legs out to bracket Kurt's hips, sliding one arm around his boyfriend's slim waist and holding on tightly. He presses a soft open mouthed kiss to the skin just below Kurt's hairline, humming gently against it.

"Blaine." It's obvious that Kurt was going for a scolding tone, but it comes out as more of a breathy plea than he was expecting and he flushes, embarrassed. The hand on Kurt's stomach moves low enough to push his t-shirt up just slightly, just enough that Blaine can press his fingertips into the warm skin above his navel. Kurt presses his body against Blaine's chest, hoping to get the point across that maybe Blaine was right just this once and studying can wait for just a few minutes.

"Now who's the eager one?" Blaine teases, removing his hand from Kurt's skin and placing it on his hip, over the soft fabric of his shirt.

Kurt huffs and Blaine laughs against his neck. "Later," he promises.

His free hand moves to point at a random problem on the near-forgotten book in Kurt's lap.

"Now, let's see about this geometry."
