Joanna tells her Daddy that she loves cuddling with him, because his 'tummy is softer than Pappy's'. So now Blaine is insecure about how he looks. Chubby!Blaine
“Daddy?”
Blaine looked down at his daughter, who was cuddling him. “Yes, sweetie?”
She just tightened her arms around him and pushed her head closer to his chest. She sighed happily. “I love cuddling with you. It makes me happy.”
He ran a hand through her hair. “I love cuddling with you too, sweetie. And I bet Pappy would be very jealous now, because he loves cuddling with us too.”
Joanna smiled when her daddy gave her a kiss. “I love Pappy too, but you are nicer to cuddle with. You’re softer.”
“I’m softer?”, Blaine chuckled, “You silly girl! You better don’t tell your Pappy that you said that! Pappy is very proud about his soft skin!”
The little girl facepalmed. “No Daddy! I mean you are really soft, like a pillow,” she explained while petting her daddy’s tummy, “You see? Your tummy is soft. Pappy’s belly isn’t so soft.”
Blaine forced a smile. “Hey sweetie, I think it’s time for bye-bye-beddy.”
“Noo!”, she started fussing, “I want to see Pappy before I bye-bye-beddy! I can’t sleep without Pappy saying goodnight!”
Blaine got up and took her in her arms. “Daddy will tell Pappy to kiss you goodnight if he’s home okay. But it will be late, because Pappy has to work late tonight.”
“Why?”, Joanna hated it when Pappy had to work late, “Can’t he sing for me instead of for all those people?”
“Aaawww, honey,” Blaine gave her a kiss on her head, “Pappy’s doing his job! People love it when he sings for them. But I’ll ask him to bring home a tape, so we can watch Pappy when he’s working late, okay?”
She rubbed her eyes and wrapped her arms around Blaine’s neck. “Okay, Daddy. Will you sing for me for bye-bye-beddy?”
“Of course, sweetie! And if you sleep really quick, Pappy will be there faster to get you out of bed in the morning!”, Blaine said while he brought his daughter to her room.
Fifteen minutes later, she was fast asleep. Her arms clutched around her teddy bear. Blaine gave her a last kiss on her head, before leaving the bedroom.
He knew it was stupid, but he couldn’t get her words out his head. Kids speak the truth and she just basically told him that Kurt still was in an impeccible shape, while he wasn’t anymore. It wasn’t like he didn’t know that he wasn’t in the same shape as ten years ago, but well... It didn’t feel good to hear someone saying it like that. Not that Joanna said it to hurt him, she meant good, but it sucked.
This was why Kurt found his husband standing shirtless in front of the mirror when he got home. He sneaked in and wrapped his arms around Blaine, who woke up from his thinking.
Kurt kissed him on his cheek and looked at them in the mirror. “I could be down with coming home to you being shirtless every day.”
Blaine grimaced and turned around. He gave his husband a propper welcome home kiss. “How was your performance?”
“Good,” he answered, nuzzling into Blaine’s neck, “It was good. How was your day? Did our princess go to bed easily?”
“Poor kids were so stressed because of their finals,” Blaine explained, “Oh, apparently Jeffrey broke up with Anna, so that was some drama. And you’ll need to get a tape from your performance, because Joanna needs to see her Pappy before bed.”
Kurt chuckled and collapsed on the couch. “Ooooh god, sitting is good,” he looked up to his husband again, “Is there a reason why you’re shirtless, by the way? Not that I’m complaining.”
Blaine sighed and rubbed over his belly. “Joanna told me that she prefers cuddling with me today,” he paused a second, “Because my belly is ‘softer’ than yours. So basically my own daughter told me I’m getting fat.”
Kurt tugged Blaine next to him. He straddled Blaine, putting his hands on his chest and kissed him. His hands were roaming over his husband’s body. He trailed his chest slowly and ended up with his hands on his belly.
“You’re handsome, Blaine,” he whispered, “You’ve always been handsome and attractive. And you don’t need a six-pack to be hot.”
Blaine grabbed Kurt’s wrists. “So you are saying that I’m fat?”
Kurt sighed. He rested his hands on Blaine’s shoulders. “No, you’re not fat, Blaine. Maybe you’ve gained a few pounds over the years, yes, but that doesn’t matter.”
“Why didn’t you say something?”, Blaine asked, “You’re still in such a perfect shape and then you’re married to...”.
He didn’t need to finish that sentence, because Kurt did. “I’m married to my sweet and handsome high school sweetheart. With whom I’ve been together for 15 years. With whom I’m married for 10 years and with whom I’m raising a beautiful baby daughter”, Kurt looked Blaine right into the eyes, “I love you, Blaine Anderson. I’ve loved you since the day we met and I will love you forever. And my love doesn’t depend on how you look, but on who you are. As long as you are who you are, I’ll love you.”
Blaine smiled and kissed Kurt. “I love you, too, baby.”
