Kurt is in a relationship that's a little bit rocky. He needs to get out, so he asks in the only way he knows how. No Blaine just a Kurt Hummel One-Shot
Broken Wing
“I forgot! I’m sorry Adam!!” Kurt said quietly, looking down at the marble floor of the school hallway. Adam, his boyfriend, was standing in front of him and yelling because Kurt forgot to do Adam’s English essay that was due today.
“Sorry doesn’t cut it Kurt! I asked you to do it! Why can’t you just do something I ask?!” He yelled and grabbed Kurt’s shoulders tightly.
Kurt whimpered, the bruises that were already on his arms were making Adam’s grip hurt even more, “My dad’s in the hospital again Adam, I was with him all last night and I forgot!”
“So your dad is more important than me? Kurt I love you more than he ever could!” He took his hands away from Kurt’s arms and put on hand on Kurt’s cheek, “I’m sorry for yelling but I just really needed that essay…”
Kurt nodded softly, “I-I know and I’m sorry for not getting it done.” He looked down as Adam leaned forward, kissing his forehead.
“I’ll see you in lunch, babe.” He smiled and walked down the hallway.
Kurt took a deep breath and gathered himself before turning down the opposite hallway and walking to his first class.

The abuse started a couple months ago. Kurt and Adam had started dating in the first week of school after Adam moved in next door to the Hummel-Hudsons. A couple weeks into the relationship Adam started abusing Kurt, at first Kurt just thought it was because Adam was stressed with the move and the school work but then it got worse and he knew Adam never really cared for him.
After they started dating Adam refused to let Kurt go out with any of his friends, fearing that he’d tell them what was happening behind closed doors. The only time Kurt could be alone with his friends was in glee club, luckily Adam never joined.
When the abuse had started getting worse and Adam actually starting hitting Kurt where it wouldn’t be covered by clothes, Kurt had to buy and wear make-up. Mercedes was the first one to notice the change in his skin color. He’d simply told her that it was a new skin-care thing that he found online. She’d believed him and nobody else asked why he wore make-up.
Kurt needed a way out but Adam wasn’t going to let him go easily. He’d threatened Kurt that he would hurt him so bad that he wouldn’t be able to get away from him. He was Adam’s property forever.

Kurt walked into the choir room, he was always the first one there. He went up to the top row and sat in the corner. He’d started crying on his way here after another encounter with Adam after lunch he didn’t have time to go put on fresh make-up in the bathroom. He wiped off what make-up he had , the black eye he had was starting to fade so maybe no one would notice.
When the others started filing in he kept his head down. Today he was going to tell them, he had to if he ever wants to get away from Adam. When Mr. Schue walked in he stood and walked over to his favorite teacher, “M-Mr. Schuester? I up I prepared something that I’d like to perform for everyone.”
Mr. Schuester smiled softly and nodded, “The floor is yours Kurt.” He nodded softly and walked over to Brad, telling him my song.
He walked back to the middle of the room, “Uhm, there’s something I need to tell you guys and I’ve been too afraid to tell anyone. At first I didn’t know how to tell you guys, but now I know that all I need to do is sing…Please pay attention…”
The music started and he closed his eyes.
She loved him like he was
The last man on Earth
Gave him everything she ever had
He'd break her spirit down
Then come lovin' up on her
Give a little, then take it back
She'd tell him about her dreams
He'd just shoot 'em down
Lord he loved to make her cry
You're crazy for believin'
You'll ever leave the ground
He said, Only angels know how to fly
And with a broken wing
She still sings
Kurt started to take off his jacket. He was going to show them what Adam did.
She keeps an eye on the sky
With a broken wing
She carries her dreams
Man you ought to see her fly
Once his jacket was off he rolled up the long sleeves of his shirts, ignoring the gasps from everyone when they saw the scratches and bruises.
One Sunday morning
She didn't go to church
He wondered why she didn't leave
He went up to the bedroom
Found a note by the window
With the curtains blowin' in the breeze
And with a broken wing
She still sings
She keeps an eye on the sky
With a broken wing
She carries her dreams
Man you ought to see her fly
With a broken wing
She carries her dreams
Man you ought to see her fly
When the music died down, Kurt looked away from everyone and wrapped his arms around his middle, trying not to let out the sob rising in his chest.
“K-Kurt? Boo, can you look at us?” He heard Mercedes whispered. He looked over at her and then at everyone else. They were all crying, even Puck.
“Please help me. I don’t want to live like this.” He whispered brokenly. The sob rose out of his chest and he started crying harder than he had in a while. He looked down and after a moment he felt a pair of arms wrap around him. He sobbed into the person’s chest and then felt everyone moved around him.
Everything would be okay now. He didn’t have to face this alone. He finally had help. He finally had people that loved him.
