The elevator was out of order... again. Kurt mentally thanked Blaine for dragging him to the gym three times a week as he readjusted his numerous shopping bags and began the six story climb to their apartment. He ran through the plans for the evening in his mind as he climbed. Blaine had no idea Kurt had planned anything, but really Kurt thought, he ought to have known better. As if Kurt would be content with spending their tenth anniversary watching Disney movies. Kurt loved watching Disney movies, especially when he got to cuddle up to Blaine, but tonight was special, and Kurt intended to show Blaine just how special he is. He reached the door to their apartment, readjusting the bags once again so he could unlock the door. He stepped into the tiny hallway and with a kick to shut the door he finally dropped the bags with a sigh of relief. He flexed his hands which were sore from carrying so much and pressed the button on the answering machine.

Kurt heard himself giggle at the end of the message before it cut out. He shook his head and waited for the next message.

End of final message
Kurt listened to Blaine's father's message thoughtfully. He deleted the first message, but decided to keep the second for Blaine to listen to and make a decision about later. The cold tone in Blaine's father's voice did nothing to convince Kurt to want to go to dinner with him and Joanne. Joanne was always lovely, but the thought of strained silences in between Frank asking Blaine when he was going to get a 'proper' job just didn't appeal to Kurt. He checked his watch, noting that he had two hours to get ready before Blaine arrived home at 4:45. He picked up two of the previously deposited bags and carried them to the small but perfectly formed kitchen, putting away the groceries methodically. He then grabbed the rest of the bags and moved quickly into the bedroom. Reaching into the two bags marked Ben de Lisi he extracted a beautifully cut midnight blue shirt and black slacks for Blaine and a deep plum shirt with cream cuffs and grey pants for himself. He lay them out on the bed, carefully removing tags and finding accessories to go with each outfit, his were of course more extravagant than Blaine's, but Kurt loved that Blaine liked to keep his outfits simple. He checked his watch again and realised that he only had an hour left to do his hair and make himself perfect. He hurried into the bathroom and hurried through his routine before beginning to tease his hair into shape, he decided to spike it a little, remembering Blaine's reaction when Kurt messed his hair up a bit back in high school for the New Directions' 'Born this way' performance. Kurt smiled at his reflection as he thought about the night ahead.
–
Kurt was just putting the finishing touches to his ensemble when he heard the door to the apartment open and a thud as Blaine's bag hit the floor in the spot he always dumped it. Kurt perched himself on the end of the bed as he listened to the familiar sounds of Blaine getting home.
“Kurt Baby, are you here?” He heard Blaine pad into the living room.
“In the bedroom.” Kurt stood up and smoothed his pants down subconsciously.
Blaine appeared in the doorway and Kurt watched in amusement as Blaine's jaw dropped while he raked over Kurt with hungry eyes. Blaine cleared his throat as Kurt placed a delicate hand on his hip.
“Um, I'm guessing the quiet evening watching Disney is out then – you look – wow.” Blaine ran a hand through his unruly curls.
“Whatever gave you that idea? Don't worry I bought a fabulous outfit for you too Mr Anderson-Hummel, you have forty minutes to get ready, oh yeah your Dad called earlier, we can sort him tomorrow though. Now, come on, shower – and don't even think about gelling those curls mister, I've hidden the gel.” Kurt clapped his hands together and grinned cheekily at Blaine, who was still looking a little gob-smacked. He had to be ushered into the bathroom by Kurt to kick-start his brain again so he could get ready.
Thirty minutes later, dressed up to the nines, Blaine found himself seated in a smart black car with tinted windows. Kurt refused to tell him where they were going, the curiosity was eating at Blaine. There was no wonder Kurt had been so adamant about Blaine not planning anything for tonight. Blaine felt inside his pockets, nervously checking that the present he had for Kurt was still there. The car slowed and pulled to the curb and Blaine peered out the window, he didn't see much however because Kurt had appeared in front of the door, talking to the driver before sweeping open the car door and offering a warm hand to Blaine. As Blaine stood up he recognised the little jazz bar they had found in their first week in New York. He turned to Kurt and smiled broadly.
“I love this place, we haven't been here for ages.”
“I know, that's why I thought this was perfect, come on, there's more inside.” Kurt grabbed Blaine's hand and led him through the black wooden door. They stepped into a small foyer where a young woman dressed in a white shirt and black waistcoat greeted them with a warm smile and took their jackets. They were led into the main room. The first thing to hit Blaine was that they had the whole club to themselves, he noticed a single table set in the middle of the room, the others pushed further back. Blaine knew that Kurt must have advised them how to set everything, every detail reeked of Kurt, from the midnight blue, silk edged table cloth, right down to the simple silver napkin rings.
“Kurt, when did you do all this? Its amazing.” Kurt just smiled wanly and pulled out a chair, indicating for Blaine to sit, before taking the seat across from him. Kurt reached across the table and took Blaine's hand, stroking it gently with his thumb.
“Happy Anniversary Baby, do you like it so far?” Kurt gazed into Blaine's amber eyes, he recognised the look of pure love he saw there. It was the same look Blaine had when they shared their first kiss all those years ago, back at Dalton.
“I love it, you are amazing, I love you so much. I can't believe you actually convinced me you wanted a quiet night in!”
“Well I had to make sure you wouldn't plan something. You are always spoiling me, I figured it was my turn to spoil you for a change. Plus I really enjoyed planning it all.” A petite waitress appeared at the table, she handed then each a menu and looked to Kurt.
“Mr Anderson-Hummel, are you ready for the entertainment to begin?” Kurt nodded and smiled kindly at the girl, taking in her appearance, she couldn't have been more than nineteen. She turned and went backstage. Kurt pointed at the stage and shushed Blaine as the heavy velvet curtains opened revealing some very familiar looking singers. Blaine gasped as a melody started up. He looked at Kurt and mouthed a heartfelt Thank You before turning his attention back to the people stood on stage.
A figure Blaine recognised as Nick stepped forward into the spotlight, he winked at Blaine and began to sing.
I can show you the world
Shining, shimmering, splendid
Tell me, princess, now when did
You last let your heart decide?
“I haven't heard this song in years.” Blaine whispered entranced as the rest of the men on stage joined in. Blaine saw that most of the Warblers were there, all bar Wes. Blaine felt a pang of sadness as he thought about Wes' accident, Blaine missed his old friend dearly.
“Hey, this is supposed to make you happy, not sad.” Kurt brushed an ebony curl off Blaine's forehead.
“It is, I was just thinking about Wes.” Kurt nodded understanding immediately, the group was definitely missing something without Wes, it had saddened Kurt to not be able to include him in this. He turned back to watch their friends perform. When they sand the final note the Warblers trooped off stage and another group of people replaced them. The New Directions instantly began a more upbeat version of 'Over the Rainbow', Mercedes took lead with back – up from Tina and Rachel; Mike and Brittany were showing off their exceptional dancing skills. Finn and the boys joined in for the second half of the song with the whole group harmonizing as the song came to a close. Finn stepped up to the mic smiling broadly.
“Happy Anniversary guys. I'm glad Kurt got all the guys together for this, we are all really happy for you both of you. I think what you two have is so cool, I mean you overcame everything that was thrown at you, even in high school and you are such an inspiration to me. So Yeah, congrats guys... so can we eat now?” Everyone laughed and made their way off the stage to join Kurt, Blaine and the Warblers. Blaine hugged everyone happily, making a point of talking to David and asking how he was doing. Kurt had arrange for tables for everyone further back from the stage and waiters and waitresses appeared to take everyone's orders.
“I can't believe you arranged all of this, it must have been crazy getting everyone here. Where are all the kids?” Blaine speared some broccoli with his fork as he looked across at Kurt.
“It wasn't easy, Dad's got Finn and Rachel's kids along with Quinn's. We arranged for Grandparents to have most of the Dalton guys' kids and Santana and Britt' got a babysitter. And you're worth it, I would do this a thousand times over Blaine. I want you to know that no matter what other people say – especially your father – you are special, and I love you so damn much.” Kurt smiled across at Blaine, he loved seeing Blaine this light and happy.
“I love you too, but now my present seems insignificant compared to all this.”
“You got me a present? Ooh what is it? I mean you didn't have to, we said no presents, but what is it?” Kurt's eyes were wide and excited as he pushed his plate away and clapped his hands together eagerly.
“Of course I got you something, and as if you can talk about no presents.” He raised his eyebrows and gestured to the chattering people all around them, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a square box completely covered in light blue velvet. Kurt actually let out a squeal of excitement when Blaine handed him the box.
“It's not much, but I think you'll appreciate it.” Kurt fingered the box delicately before slowly opening the tiny metal clasp and lifting the lid. He felt tears well up looking down at the contents nestled amongst gorgeous cream silk.
“Take it out and open it.” Kurt's eyes flickered to meet Blaine's before returning to the box. His elegant fingers wrapped around the cold golden metal as he picked up the beautifully ornate pocket watch, he ran a thumb over the thin glass window and flicked it open carefully. Inside the front of the pocket watch, around the glass window Kurt read the words:
I'll never stop looking for you Kurt, you move me. All my love Blaine.
“Oh Blaine, this is the watch you - “
“I was looking at the first time I saw you on the staircase at Dalton.” Blaine finished for him smiling like his life depended on it. Rachel had sneaked over from her table and was leaning over Kurt's shoulder gazing at the pocket watch.
“Wow, that's pretty Kurt.”
“You have no idea Rach.” Kurt handed it to her for her to look at, she read the inscription and smiled at Blaine.
The rest of the night was spent singing and talking and laughing. Both Kurt and Blaine loved catching up with everybody and promised to see each-other more often. It took four attempts to say goodbye, but eventually they found themselves back in the black car, heading back to their apartment.
“I loved seeing everyone tonight, it was amazing, Thank you Kurt.” Blaine linked their fingers across the seat and Kurt leaned in to rest on his shoulder, it was slightly uncomfortable, but Kurt just couldn't bring himself to care.
“Hmm, I enjoyed it, but you know what I'm looking forward to most?”
“What?” Blaine peered down at Kurt's chestnut hair and long eyelashes. He knew he would never tire of being with Kurt.
“Having you to myself when we get home.” Kurt twisted up to capture Blaine's lips in a perfect chaste kiss. Blaine hummed against Kurt's lips in agreement, a small smile tugging at his lips.
Soon enough they were pulling up to their apartment building, Kurt got out of the car first to let Blaine out. They both groaned when they realised the lift was out of order and began the trudge up the bland staircase, stealing heated kisses every few steps, lengthening the journey considerably. They made it to the door of the apartment, Blaine pushed Kurt urgently against the door, trailing kisses along his jaw and neck.
“B-Blaine, you're going to have to stop that, I n-need to unlock the door.” Kurt's eyes flicked shut as Blaine sucked just under his ear roughly enough to leave a mark.
“Nope, don't wanna.” Kurt felt Blaine speak against his neck and tried to control his wandering hands long enough to open the door.
“Babe, if you let me unlock the door, we can continue this inside...” Blaine grounded loudly and stepped back impatiently, admiring his husband's figure as he bent slightly to slip the key into the lock.
The second the door clicked open Blaine was back kissing every spot of Kurt he could reach, almost unbalancing both of them until Kurt reached behind him and placed a steadying hand on the wooden table next to the door. Kurt shoved his fingers into Blaine's hair and pulled him into a hungry kiss, all tongues and clashing teeth. Blaine's hands worked their way under Kurt's jacket and shoved it off his shoulders quickly, he lay it on the table knowing only too well that if he had flung it to the floor, Kurt would have stopped and hung it up properly. A groan escaped his lips as Kurt slipped his fingers under Blaine's shirt, teasing the dark hair under his belly button.
Kurt pushed against Blaine, grabbing his hand and leading him to the bedroom quickly, once inside Kurt pushed Blaine down onto the bed and climbed on top of him, his knees either side of his hips. Kurt swooped down and resumed kissing Blaine's tan skin, hot under his lips, he unbuttoned his shirt as he went. When Kurt reached the bottom button he pulled Blaine up, kissing him fiercely and slipped off the shirt over his strong, broad shoulders, loving the feeling of Blaine's muscles moving beneath his fingertips. Blaine made short work of Kurt's shirt, and slammed their chests together, pulling Kurt as close as possible, hands wandering feverishly over Kurt's back and through his gleaming hair, tugging slightly at the strands at the nape of his neck. They fell backwards onto the pillows writhing together. Blaine ran his hands tenderly over Kurt's back, tracing the curve of his spine, his hands finally coming to rest on Kurt's firm cotton clad ass, pulling him closer. Kurt gasped slightly at the contact and dug his nails into Blaine's shoulders as he ground his hips down to meet Blaine's.
“Too many clothes.” Blaine grunted as he remedied the problem in record time tugging Kurt's Pants and boxers down as one. He crawled back up the bed after removing his own remaining clothing and moved seamlessly with Kurt. Their kisses becoming desperate, needy. Kurt reached his arm out blindly until his fingers found a small plastic bottle, which he shoved into Blaine's hand – he didn't need telling twice. Blaine instantly popped open the lid, coating two fingers liberally with the lube. He replaced the lid and threw the bottle further up the bed as he simultaneously positioned a finger at Kurt's entrance, he circled his fingertip around the puckered hole, watching as Kurt unravelled.
“Baby, please – stop teasing.” Blaine grinned down at Kurt and finally pressed his finger past the tight ring of muscle. It wasn't long before he added a second, scissoring his fingers and occasionally letting his fingertips brush against that bundle of nerves that had Kurt positively keening.
“Blaine f-for God's sake, will you just fuck me already?!” Blaine raised an eyebrow, but found the lube again, coating his throbbing cock thoroughly. He positioned himself over Kurt, staring into his beautiful cerulean eyes as he pushed inside him slowly. His eyes flickered shut as Kurt's heat surrounded him. Kurt reached up, clasping his hands around his husbands neck, he twirled his finger around the curls there and wrapped his legs around Blaine's waist. He whimpered slightly at the change in position.
“Jesus Kurt...” Blaine gasped, his breathing hot and heavy as he felt himself get pulled deeper into Kurt, he began to move faster, snapping his hips back before thrusting desperately back into that incredible heat. Kurt tightened his legs around Blaine with every inward thrust, he could feel the sweat building on his forehead. He knew he wouldn't last much longer and looked up at Blaine who was never far behind him. Sure enough Blaine's eyes told him everything he needed to know. Kurt clenched around Blaine's cock as Blaine drove into Kurt harder and faster. Broken moans tumbled from both men's lips and Kurt felt the familiar sensation low in his stomach.
“Ugh, Blaine, Baby, I'm so close.” Blaine angled his hips slightly differently so that he hit Kurt's prostate over and over until Kurt tensed, letting a low moan and a string of nonsensical words into the heated room. Seeing Kurt come undone was all it took to push Blaine over the edge too, he shouted Kurt's name as he came deep inside him. His arms finally gave out and he collapsed on top of Kurt, kissing his neck lazily, not caring that they were both covered in a combination of sweat. Lube and come as the both came down from their high. Kurt had wrapped his arms around Blaine, his nose nuzzled into his damp hair, breathing deeply, thoroughly sated.
“Baby, I hate to move you, but were going to have to get cleaned up soon.” Blaine just tightened his grip on Kurt and shook his head gently. Kurt chuckled and kissed Blaine's temple.
“Come on, up, shower, bath, whatever. I am not sleeping covered in this.” Kurt wrinkled his nose when Blaine raised his head to glare at Kurt.
“Every damn time, I just want to snuggle and sleep and you want to take a shower; remind me why I put up with you again?” He shook his head and pushed himself off the bed heavily, offering a hand to help Kurt up. Kurt looked up at his amazing husband and knew he would never get tired of this. It didn't matter what the world threw at them, as long as Kurt had Blaine he would be happy. And he couldn't wait to be celebrating their fiftieth anniversary, surrounded by their children and grandchildren. He took Blaine's hand, planting a cheeky kiss on his lips and sauntered off into the bathroom, swinging his hips playfully. Blaine was hot on his heels.
