They decided to try Scandals one more time before Kurt left for New York.

This time they did things a little differently, both would be drinking (in moderation) as they’d organised a taxi, there were promises to danceonlywith each other, and both Kurt and Blaine were thoroughly looking forward to erasing the painful memories of their last visit.

Friday night, therefore, saw them both getting ready at Blaine’s (blissfully empty) house. Kurt was rifling through his boyfriend’s closet, trying to find the light blue shirt heknew Blaine possessed. It would match perfectly with his eyes, which was the reason Blaine had brought it, as a gentle reminder of his gorgeous boyfriend even when they wereseparated.

In the background, aneclecticmix of music was playing- Broadway Classics, Roxy Music, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga all featured on the playlist. Both boys danced around each other during the upbeat tunes, smiling, laughing, having fun. They exchanged soft kisses throughout theirpreparations, shy glances while the other changed their shirt or pants, murmurs of “you look gorgeous” when they finally saw each other’s completed outfit. Kurt didn’t care that Blaine snuck up behind him while he was perfecting his hair in the mirror, giving him a comforting backwards hug and trailing kisses up his exposed neck.

There was something in the air, an electricity that made each boy feel so loved and provided the promise of a good night.

They huddled together as they walked towards the club. Kurt thought back to how much had changed since the last time they had been here. Yes, they had experienced relationship drama but they had become a stronger couple because of it. They were physically closer than last time, a result of their decision to take the next step in their relationship. Kurt loved the feel of Blaine’s hand in the small of his back, comforting and reassuring, and the way he nuzzled against him as a constant reminder of his presence.

They were also connected in a different way; they could communicate through simple looks, smiles, shakes of the head. They spoke very little throughout the night, although there was a feeling of togetherness the whole time. They danced for long periods of time with their bodies pressed closely together, arms wrapped around each other, unintelligiblemurmurs of adoration passing between them. Neither could shake the continuous, gentle smile on their lips, nor the feeling of how lucky they were.

Little did they know, they attracted the attention of other patrons within Scandals. Many looked on at them in admiration, clearly they were such a young couple but they seemed so in love, it was almost like they were radiating apositiveenergy to the rest of the room. Some looked on with jealousy, wishing they had a relationship as seemingly strong and utterly adorable as what they were witnessing. Others, however, saw them in the alcove near the toilets towards the end of the night, and thought how hot it was to see two good looking people making out, especially with the breathy high pitched noises Kurt was making.

As the night wore on, their dancing became more and more outlandish. There were moments that Kurt seriously thought that they would have to retreat toseparatebathroom stalls to cool off. But there were other times when the DJ would play the most ridiculous of songs, and they would look at each other, giggle and proceed to create equally ridiculous dance moves. It was the epitome of their relationship; that they both felt comfortable enough to act like giant dorks, best friends having a good time, and lovers in the same night.

The taxi home was another adventure. Both were giggly and high on life, the smiles on their facesunmovable. On the 30 minute ride back to Blaine’s house they told each other silly jokes, sang fragments of songs and danced as wildly as their seatbelts would allow. They tried to keep their affection to a minimum, not knowing what the reaction of the driver would be. However, towards the end of the journey, Blaine was able to strike up a conversation using all of his private school charm, and the driver revealed that he was “just happy to see to young people enjoying themselves”. Safe to say they gave him a large tip.

They stumbled up the stairs to Blaine’s bedroom and fell into his bed as soon as they’d changed into their sleepwear, Kurt forgoing his skincare routine. Besides, they joy of the evening and the glow of being in love was better for him than any lotions he could buy

-

Both Kurt and Blaine woke peacefully the next morning, spending time exchanging lazy kisses, lying facing each other in Blaine’s bed. Kisses turned to laughter as Kurt rolled over to check the time, revealing how the stamp he’dreceivedthe night before had transferred to his cheek.

“Well, we can have fun getting that off in the shower,” Blaine quickly suggested, eyes glazing over slightly.

It was at that moment Kurt’s stomach decided to let out a huge grumble.

“Maybe we can have breakfast first,” Kurt replied.

They went about the rest of the day happily, recovering from the alcohol and the late night together. Theemptinessof the house suited them, both imagining this to be their future when Blaine joined Kurt in New York.

End Notes: This is my first attempt at writing a Klaine fic so reviews would mean the world to me :)
