Kurt has to go home. A fight between the Doctor and Kurt ensues. I'm rubbish at summaries.
Author's Notes: Doctor Who AU. Doctor!Blaine and Companion!Kurt. Um. This one's angsty to begin with. Turns into fluff.
A light drizzle was falling; pools of water welling up in the leaves and blossoms of the blooming spring plants. The gorgeous moon, full and bright; was hidden behind a veil of cloud, casting a milky glow over the houses below.
A metallic whir, faint at first but growing louder, interrupted the gentle drip of rainfall. A large object slowly came into view, fading from sight and then returning clearer than before. The night was silent once again, only for a brief moment before a young man burst from the bright blue Police Box, casting a light over the street. Kurt stumbled over the curb, not caring if he fell. He choked back his sobs, desperately trying to pretend he was fine.
Another young man appeared in the doorway of the Police Box, confusion written all over his face. The Doctor called out Kurt's name, hoping the other boy would turn around. Realising that his attempts were futile, he raced after Kurt, tripping over his own feet.
The drizzle was slowly turning into a downpour. Rivulets of rain ran down Kurt's face, mixing with his tears. His hair was ruined and his clothes were drenched but he didn't care, he kept walking toward the place he had called home before he met the Doctor.
Through his blind anger, the Doctor's pleading cries registered to him - a cold arrow through his already shattered heart.Furiously, he turned to face the man he had been running from and saw him - the Doctor's normally gelled hair, drenched by the rain, fell around his face, the curls sticking up haphazardly, a sad smile hiding the pain that clearly showed in his eyes, his hazel eyes were glistening with tears, threatening to spill, his bowtie hung loose around his neck - exactly as he had been the first time they had met.
'Why, Doctor?' he whispered, breaking the silence that hung between them.
'I couldn't bear to see you get hurt. I couldn't let you die,' the Doctor looked down as he gave a strained reply.
'This-this is hurting me,' a dry sob escaped Kurt's lips. 'Why would you do this to me?'
'This is hurting me as much as it's hurting you,' the Doctor sighed in a resigned voice. 'Everyone has to say goodbye eventually, Kurt.'Kurt stared at the man in front of him, silence falling again. The rain began falling harder, hitting their skin like shards of glass, chilling them to the bone.
'Ok, Doctor. My silly, old Doctor. I'll go home and act like I never met you. Like I never saw any of the amazing things you showed me. Like I never fell in love with you,' his voice quivering with the threat of tears. 'Goodbye, Doctor.' Turning, he let his last tears escape, letting them well up in his eyes before they rolled down his face, burning hot against his rain chilled cheeks.
He had just reached his doorstep when he felt a light tap on his shoulder. He whirled around - straight into the Doctor's arms. The Doctor brought his lips to Kurt's softly, his hand reaching up to cup the other boy's cheek. Kurt pulled back, shocked, staring into those eyes, the hazel eyes that told stories and betrayed the Doctor's every emotion. He pulled the shorter boy closer, kissing him again, sighing into the kiss.
The Doctor laughed and said, 'You didn't think I'd let you leave that easily after your declaration of love, did you?'Kurt slapped the Doctor's chest, feigning offence, and laughed with him.The Doctor pulled him back in for another soft, lingering kiss. With their lips still pressed together, he smiled and murmured the three words Kurt had been waiting his whole life to hear.
'I love you.'
