You Just Don't Know It (Yet)
Kurt and Blaine love each other. They just don't say it yet.

It was past eight when Kurt left Dalton Academy on a cold Friday night and turned on his ignition to drive back home for the weekend. The pleasantly icy night fell behind the road while he left Westerville towards Lima, a smile playing on his lips when he remembered where he was a few minutes ago.
*
"Blaine!" Kurt laughed when his boyfriend grabbed him by the waist, keeping him from getting into his car. "I need to go, it's getting late."
"Mmhm." The other boy mumbled, tightening his grip around Kurt to pull him into one more kiss. They both smiled into the mess of lips and teeth and tongue, Kurt's hands travelling from Blaine's shoulders all the way down his arms until he found his boyfriend's fingers, intertwining them with his own as sweetly and lovingly as he could just like he always did after a full weekend without seeing Blaine, or when they were saying bye for the day before heading to their dorms, or when they missed each other so much that they weren't responsible for their acts anymore.
"You taste like vanilla." Blaine whispered suddenly, snapping Kurt out of his reverie.
"What?" Kurt laughed, making Blaine hug him even tighter and press his fingers just a little bit harder against Kurt's.
"Vanilla," Blaine said simply, a warm smile on his lips. "You smell like Kurt and taste like vanilla."
"Smell like Kurt?" He laughed, nuzzling his nose against Blaine's. "Seriously, Blaine?"
"Mm-hm," he kissed the outline of Kurt's chin, until he found the curve of his neck and pressed his lips there. "There's no other word to define it."
Kurt wouldn't be able to help his smile if he tried. "Adorable."
"You are."
"Oh, my God." He said with a giggle and hid his face on Blaine's shoulder. "You're a dork. But hey, seriously, I really need to go."
Blaine sighed. "Okay," he all but whispers when Kurt lets go of his hand to hold the boy's jaw and connect their lips on a gentle, sweet kiss. "See you on Monday?"
"Monday," he murmurs back against Blaine's lips, their foreheads touching.
Opening the car's door, Kurt sighed heavily and put the key on the ignition. But before he could sit, he felt Blaine pulling him by the wrist and he couldn't help it – he smiled wide and happy as he felt warm, soft lips against his own one last time.
"Goodnight, Kurt."
"'Night, Blaine."
*
Kurt smiled with the memory and, as he stopped in a red light, he closed his eyes and took in a hard breath – then it was as if Blaine was there, sitting on the passenger seat, holding his hand and, if Kurt tried hard enough, he could even feel Blaine's warmth and his lips against Kurt's cheek.
Unconsciously, Kurt brought his fingers to his own mouth, wishing they were Blaine's instead – touching it, warming it. He thought about Blaine's hands on his face, neck, arms, and that was when he shook his head and laughed at himself. How stupid is it to sit in your car and think about your boyfriend in that way, especially when you just saw him?
Wow. Boyfriend.
Kurt had a boyfriend. And it was Blaine.
Laughing at himself again, he allowed himself to be a little bit silly and stupid and young, though he concentrated on real life again when the light changed to green and he stepped on the accelerator.
Then, his cellphone rang where it laid on the passenger seat and his smile grew even more, because it was Blaine's ringtone and his face glowing from the small screen.
Kurt answered with a muffled, "hi".
"Hey," Blaine's voice wasn't more than a whisper on the end of the line. "I miss you."
Kurt felt his heart beat faster just from the sound of his boyfriend's voice and damn, how on earth did Blaine have this effect on him?
"It's been twenty minutes since I left, Blaine."
They both laughed. "Still."
For some odd reason, Kurt could perfectly see the image of Blaine lying on his dorm's bed, hugging the sheets and hiding his smile on his pillow while he talked.
"What are you up to?" He saw himself asking, curious to know if Blaine was doing what his mind was drawing (so clearly it was even strange).
"Just in bed. Going through my iPod. Talking to my gorgeous, not-here-with-me boyfriend," Blaine paused when Kurt laughed. "You?"
"I'm driving home, Blaine," he stopped the car when he found a place, knowing he shouldn't be driving while talking on the phone. "You should know, since you were the one trying to keep me from coming."
"And you should be... Right. Here."
Kurt smiles, the image of Blaine sleepily laying on his dorm bed, phone pressed to his ear, perfectly pictured on his head.
It hasn't been too long since he and Blaine finally got together, but it has been a long time since Kurt knew exactly what he felt.
But I'm in love with him and he's actually gay. I call that progress.
He didn't mean to admit that -- to Mr. Schuester of all people -- but he knew in his gut that it was true. Kurt loved Blaine, and his heart knew it well before he had the courage to admit it even to himself. He had tried to make the feeling go away, but not even seeing Blaine sing to another guy at a store full of unlucky customers made his heart stop beating faster every single time Blaine came close. Or sang. Or smiled.
Kurt loved him. Completely, with everything he was. And he let it so very clear that anyone could look at him and claim with absolute certainty how much he was hopelessly, ridiculously, completely in love with Blaine.
Anyone except, apparently, Blaine.
"Kurt?" The boy's muffled voice came from the other end of the line. "You still there?"
"Mmhm," he nodded to himself. "Here."
"You got quiet."
"Yeah. Sorry."
"Kurt?"
"Yeah?"
"What were you thinking?"
That I love you, and I have no idea why you don't know it yet.
"Nothing," he said instead, shaking his head. He knew he could have said what he was thinking, knew -- even though he wasn't sure, his insecurity kept reminding him -- that Blaine would probably say he loved him back.
But not like that, not over the phone, when he couldn't look Blaine in the eye and have the conviction that he was really ready to say those damn three words to the boy he loved.
"Just... Thinking."
Blaine laughed. "Good." A pause. "Oh hey, Wes is calling. Call me later?"
"Of course."
Kurt could hear Blaine's breathing, how it came out erratically and how his next words were ragged and muffled. "Kurt?"
"You've been saying my name a lot."
Blaine giggled, and Kurt's stomach still did that funny flip whenever he heard that sound. "I know. Just..."
Kurt took a deep breath, closing his eyes. "Goodnight, Blaine."
"'Night."
He turned off the phone and threw it on the passenger seat.
They don't need to say it now, not so early on their relashionship. If it's up to Kurt... They'll have plenty, plenty of time for that.

Me too! I'm happy that it made you smile, honey. <3
I MISS DALTON!KLAINE. I needed this after all these emotionally depressing Klaine fics I've been reading and them still being broken up currently in the show.
This is so sweet. =) Do you have more of that fic?
Thank you! That used to be one of my WIPs, but it was like, really really sad. That was just a part of the first chapter, and I changed it to make it happy and fluffy instead of sad and tragedic. So I'm sorry honey, but this one will stay a drabble :(
Well, I'm glad you make it happy and fluffy and posted it. =)
This is seriously the cutest freakin story ever :) oh my godN
this was sweet, but they did not say it
