Kurt mentally kicked himself as the sobs racked through his body. He'd realized that even if what Blaine had done was wrong, he was the one who ignored him. And now he was here. Lying in bed next to the boy he loved more than anything in the world. Wondering if they were still even together.
He started to catch his breath to stop crying before he heard Blaine start to cry on the other side of him. The sobs returned, only this time louder and more forceful.
"Kurt i'm so-" Blaine begged barely above a whisper. His entire body shaking like a leaf.
"Please stop." Kurt replied, louder and a bit harsher than he'd wanted. He heard another muffled sob from Blaine.
The next morning came faster than either of them would have ever wanted. At seven the next morning a still crying Blaine walked into the kitchen to find Kurt standing infront of the window looking out at the skyline of the city that he thought would make all of his dreams come true, but had so far only broken his heart.
The younger boy opened his mouth to say something and stopped himself. He just stared at the gorgeous boy he'd hurt so much. He walked towards the door, suitcase in hand and opened it.
"I still love you." He said loud enough for the brunette to hear him. He stood hoping for some sort of reply. But was only answered by a small sob from himself. He quietly closed the door behind him and walked out of the apartment bulding.
The next week was the worst of Kurt's life. He continued to go to his job that he'd grown to absolutely love, but now he hated. Nothing seemed like it mattered anymore anyway. And the night Rachel walked into his room announcing she was flying back to Ohio to deal with some 'Un-Finished business' he had to choke back the tears that he knew were coming. But when she offered for him to come with her, he couldn't say no.
He needed to fix things. Even if Blaine cheated, he ignored him. And he knew that if the roles were reversed he would want some sort of closure or something of the sort.
So now, eight hours after the initial questioning of whether or not he was going to go back to Ohio for a few days, he was there, standing on the stage he was all too familiar with. Knowing what he wanted to do next. He'd heard the door open, only choosing to ignore it. He began to quietly sing a familiar song.
Cold as ice
And more bitter than a december
Winter night
That's how I treated you
And I know that I
I sometimes tend to lose my temper
And I cross the line
Yeah that's the truth
Blaine stood at the top of the auditorium, unable to move his feel. Listening to the beatiful boy who'd gotten his heart broken.
I know it gets hard sometimes
But I could never
Leave your side
No matter what I say
Kurt felt the tears coming to his eyes. He was almost positive Blaine was the one standing there. He couldn't even count the things he wanted him to know.
Cause if I wanted to go I would have gone by now,
But I really need you near me to
Keep my mind off the edge
If I wanted to leave I would have left by now
But you're the only one that knows me
Better than I know myself
Blaine gave up the fight with himself on trying to keep his tears contained. They were like small waterfalls on his olive colored skin.
I get kind of dark
Let it go too far
I can be obnoxious at times
But try and see my heart
Cause I need you now
So don't let me down
You're the only thing in this world
I would die without
Kurt's voice faltered and Blaine felt his heart break in two. He couldn't believe what he'd done.
Cause if I wanted to go I would have gone by now,
But I really need you near me to
Keep my mind off the edge
If I wanted to leave I would have left by now
But you're the only one that knows me
Better than I know myself
Kurt stopped singing and Blaine was quickly down the stairs and in his arms.
"Oh god Kurt. I'm so so sorry.." He sobbed. Kurt held him closer.
"I feel so stupid."
"Please don't feel stupid." The curly haired boy begged. "I shouldn't have cheated, this is all my fault. "
"Maybe if I would have ever talked to you, you wouldn't have felt so alone." He said simply into Blaine's shoulder. He stood sobbing into the senior's shoulder hoping they could just stand there forever. There wasn't much that either of them knew how to say, but he was sure they'd be okay.
