It's not right,but it's okay

I'm gonna make it anyway

Close the door behind you

Leave your key

I'd rather be alone than unhappy.

Blaine practically choked on the last words of the Whitney Houston ballad. He'd aleast sped the song up before singing it. He really didn't think he could have sang it if it was slow. He would have broken down by the first chorus. He looked down at the audience section of the auditorium to see Kurt standing in the doorway the same way he had when Blaine was auditioning for West Side Story. Blaine pretended he didn't know he was there. But he knew the whole time. He knew this time too.

They both stood waiting for the other person to say something. When Blaine didn't speak up Kurt finally did.

"Is that really how you feel?" he barely said loud enough for Blaine to hear from across the auditorium.

Blaine's only response was to run out of the auditorium.

Kurt stood speachless watching him run off. He couldn't chase him. Not after what he'd just said.. well sang to him.

Blaine ran down the hallway with tears quickly filling his eyes.  He ignored the fact that he still had two more classes and ran out to his car. He opened the door and slammed it shut. He put his head in his hands and started to cry. Kurt had heard all of that. Every word of it.

And he felt bad that Kurt had heard it. But the past few weeks Kurt had been really distant. Like, not picking Blaine up for school anymore, distant. Or, never seeing Blaine outside of school distant.  And that really hurt Blaine. He'd already gotten left by his brother. Kurt couldn't just do this to him.

He sat in his car for the next hour crying. He couldn't stop.  He had to have been there for almost an hour because the next thing he knew students were leaving school for the end of the day. He wiped his face the best he could. Trying not to look like he'd spent the last hour and a half sobbing. When he started his car, someone was knocking on the window of the passenger side of the car.

He wiped his face one more time before looking over to see who it was. He was a little bit suprised to see Kurt standing getting rained on.

"Are you gonna let me in..?"  He stood covering his head from the rain with a textbook.

Blaine unlocked the door. Kurt climbed in the car and sighed when he looked over at Blaine. He knew he'd skipped his classes to spend the time in his car. Because of him. He hated that. Blaine looked over at him feeling completely helpless. He didn't know what to do.

Kurt felt even worse after taking a closer look at Blaine. His normally perfectly gelled hair was still sticky with gel, but his curls were going in every which direction. His normally bright eyes seemed dull and they were rimmed red from him crying. His shirt that was perfectly ironed and tucked in at the beginning of the day was untucked and his bowtie was laying on the dashboard.

"Blaine I am so sorry.."  Kurt reached over and put his hand in Blaine's hair. "I just." He sighed and thought about what he wanted to say.

"You just what Kurt?" Blaine leaned away from his boyfriend.

"I just don't want to say goodbye to you.."  He stopped. "I know that in a few weeks i'm gonna have to leave for New York. And I have to leave you behind."

Blaine's eyes started to fill with tears again.

"And I can't -"

"Stop." Blaine cut him off. "Are you breaking up with me..?"

"No, no..No..Blaine I just.."

"You just couldn't spend time with me before you leave me?!"

"Blaine I shouldn't have done this to you I'm sorry.."

"Just go.." He unlocked the car doors again.

Kurt looked over at him helplessly again. He wanted so bad to beg Blaine to talk to him. But he couldn't. He just climbed out of the car quietly.

The night went by as a blur for both of them.

Blaine spent the whole night either boxing or pacing. And crying during both. He ran down the stairs to the basement of his giant home and went straight to the punching bag and without putting gloves on he began wailing at the bag as hard as he could. Tears and sweat were pouring down his face. He couldn't stand the way Kurt was acting. He was going to be leaving soon. Why would Kurt want to avoid him?!

Kurt spent the whole night googling songs, he wanted to find one that showed exactly how he felt about Blaine. He wanted this to be perfect.  He needed Blaine to know how much he loved him and how much he meant to him. He was up until two o'clock practicing his song once he'd found it.

The next day school was miserable.

Both of the Kurt and Blaine spent the day ignoring the other. Blaine because he was so hurt. And Kurt because he didn't know how Blaine would react to anything he said. Since they were a grade away from each other they didn't have any classes together except for glee club. And neither of them were looking forward to it.

Blaine didn't question anything when he'd gotten a text from Rachel saying that the glee rehearsal would be in the auditorium. But when he walked in and no one was there he started to wonder what was going on.

A dim light shown on the stage and he could see Brad, the man who always played piano for the glee club sitting on the stage on a piano bench playing a tune. The next thing he saw was a spotlight coming across the stage hitting Kurt. He stood with nothing but a mic-stand infront of him. His blue eyes shined so brightly in the light. Blaine couldn't help but think about how amazing Kurt looked on stage and how amazing the people on broadway would feel about him being on stage. Kurt opened his mouth and tears immediately filled Blaine's eyes.

Share my life, take me for what I am

'Cause I'll never change all my colors for you

Take my love, I'll never ask for too much

Just all that you are and everything that you do

Blaine walked down the steps of the auditorium with blurry eyes.

I don't really need to look very much further

I don't want to have to go where you don't follow

I won't hold it back again, this passion inside

I can't run from myself, there's nowhere to hide.

With every word Kurt looked at Blaine hoping with everything he had that the words would get through to him.

Don't make me close one more door

I don't wanna hurt anymore

Stay in my arms if you dare

Or must I imagine you there

Don't walk away from me

I have nothing, nothing, nothing

If I don't have you, you, you, you, you.

Blaine stood against the stage listening to Kurt sing. He looked up and him. Thinking about how he was going to have to watch him leave soon. The tears immediately started falling.

You see through, right to the heart of me

You break down my walls with the strength of your love

I never knew love like I've known it with you

Will a memory survive, one I can hold on to.

Kurt looked down at Blaine. He noticed the tears running down hiw face and hoped it was a sign of him being forgiven.

Oh, don't make me close one more door

I don't wanna hurt anymore

Stay in my arms if you dare

Or must I imagine you there

Don't walk away from me

I have nothing, nothing, nothing.

Blaine watched him on the stage noticing that Kurt had seen him crying, he wiped a few tears off his cheeks and stared up at him.

Don't make me close one more door

I don't wanna hurt anymore

Stay in my arms if you dare

Or must I imagine you there

Don't walk away from me, no

Don't walk away from me.

Kurt practically begged with those last words he sang. 'Don't walk away from me' . That was the last thing he wanted was for Blaine to walk away from him.

Don't you dare walk away from me

I have nothing, nothing, nothing

If I don't have you, you

If I don't have you, oh you.

When he finished the song, Kurt stood hoping that Blaine would be the first to speak this time. And he was. "That was amazing Kurt.."

"It was for you.." he put a hand out for Blaine to grab to help him on the stage.

They were now standing face to face.

"I never meant to make you feel like I don't love you anymore. This is just really hard..leaving.. My dad has already made it clear how bad he didn't want me to leave, and I didn't want you to have to tell me too.. I just-"

Blaine cut him off "Look, I understand..so this is what we're gonna do, we're gonna spend the next three weeks together. We're gonna see each other so much that we're tired of each other.."

Kurt laughed at him. Blaine leaned in and kissed him. They stood just like they did on opening night of West Side Story. On the stage, not worrying about any one or anything that could ruin this moment for them.

"I love you.." Blaine breathed in between kisses.

"I love you too." Kurt kissed him again.
