Author's Notes:

AN: Thanks so much for reading this silly little thing I just wrote for no reason!

Blaine stood at the door, waving off the last of the party guests. He yawned behind his hand before closing the door to the New York City brownstone, for the first time he felt like their neighborhood might really be quiet. He turned before noticing the figures on the couch.

Kurt was sitting on the couch, his legs tucked underneath him. Their daughter Lily curled up on his chest, staring distantly at the wall and playing with the neckline of Kurts white V-neck. Kurt looked absent-mindedly at a small photo album in his hands. It was full of pictures from the last year of Lilys life, leading up to the current day, her first birthday. It had been gifted to them from Blaines parents, a little gift for them on their daughters birthday. Blaine walked over to the couch, sitting next to his husband, looking over his shoulder at the album.

"She used to be so little." He said quietly, looking at the particular picture of her when she was around two weeks old. He remembered the day she was born more vividly than any other day of his life. He remembered every word of the call from Jasmyn, the young woman whod be giving them her child.

He remembered marveling at how tiny his little girl was, smiling at the dark hairs that were sticking up on her head when he pulled her small hospital-issued hat off of her head. He remembered he and Kurt crying on the way home from the hospital because she had to stay the night, while they went home. Even though they both knew shed be out by the next day, and theyd be there first thing in the morning.

"I cant believe shes a year old already." Kurt said, his voice slightly choked. Lily sat up in his arms and looked up at him.

"Papa." She said quietly, smiling, before adjusting herself, she sat in between her fathers. "Papa." She said again, this time a little louder.

"Yes, Lily?" He asked, feeling the tears fill his eyes again at the thought of his baby being able to talk, something shed been working on since she was nine months old.

"Hi!" She said with a giggle, snuggling into him.

"Hi baby." He said, pulling her into his side. Her little torso and chest were completely bare, after being stripped from her t-shirt that shed covered in pink and purple icing- courtesy of the Tangled themed cupcakes Rachel had made her in lieu of an actual cake. She now only wore a tiny, blush pink tutu, her dark hair pulled back in a tiny half-pony tail, mostly to keep it out of her face. Her brown eyes shined up at Blaine.

"Daddy!" She said this time. "Hi daddy!"

"Hi princess." He said, grinning. The photo album was now all but pushed aside so that all eyes were on Lily.

"I think its about time for your bath." He said, picking up the toddler.

"Baff." She said, looking up at Kurt.

"Yes sweetie, bath." He kissed the top of her head. "Ill finish cleaning everything up, and Ill meet you." He kissed the top of his husbands head after standing.

He walked around the dining room area, cleaning up the last of the food and taking Lilys new clothes and a few new toys up to her nursery. He glanced longingly at the crib that shed slept in since the day shed come home. Before he knew it, it would have to be converted into a toddler bed. He blinked quickly before walking into the bathroom.

Lily sat in the tub, dunking a pink rubber duck in and out of the water, giggling each time it went under the bubbles that covered the surface of the water. Blaine sat next to the tub, making silly quacking noises, every time the duck came back to the surface.

"Wack wack!" Lily squealed, clapping her hands together.

After drying her off, putting on a fresh diaper and pajamas,  two kisses from each of her daddies and a song from Papa, Lily was sound asleep in her crib. Kurt left the door to her nursery cracked, despite having a baby monitor right next to each side of the bed. He joined Blaine in the bedroom, where his husband was already tucked into bed, his contacts removed, a new photo album in his hands. He stripped out of his clothes, ignoring his normal nightly routine and just climbing into bed.

Blaine peered down at the new album in his hands, Lilys baby book. It started with the first ultrasound of her, Jasmyn had given it to the couple the first time she met them. The next page had a copy of her adoption papers, along with a picture of her taken directly after she was born. Her bottom lip was stuck out, her eyes squinted shut.

"She still looks like that when she cries." Blaine said with a small smile, tears threatening to fall from his eyes.

"I cant believe our little baby girl has been around for a year." Kurt said, a tear falling down his cheek, he wiped it and leaned into Blaine, who was sniffling.

"I want another." Kurt said quickly.

"Another?" Blaine said, his eyebrows raised.

"I mean not now, but soon. I just want her to have a little brother or sister because I never had one and-" He was cut off by his husbands lips on his own.

"I cant wait to have another baby with you, Kurt Hummel-Anderson." He said, beaming.
