But, after a few weeks Blaine started to come home with stories about a boy in his class, Kurt. Who is this Kurt boy? And why does he seem to be starting so many problems at Dalton?Inspired by the short story 'Charles' by Shirley Jackson

One thing Chelsea Anderson hated more than cheap wine and bad cooking was seeing her little boy off to his first day of Kindergarten. Even, though she had to experience this not too long ago with her older son, Cooper she still had been dreading this day. Now that it's finally here she couldn't stop the plethora of tears that she cried while making her son's PBJ sandwich with a sunny D juice box ... Blaine's absolute favorite lunch.

"Okay, darling promise mommy you'll be a good boy okay? You're only going to be gone for a little while and I'll be waiting right here when school is over." Mrs. Anderson Said while fixing Blaine's little bow tie

"But mommy! I don't wanna leave! Why do I have to go? Why can't you come with me? Please mommy! I don't wanna go!" Blaine cried

"Oh honey! Believe me, if I could be there I would! But I can't. You're a big boy now remember? That means you have to go to school, like your big brother Cooper. Don't worry sweet heart, it's only for a few hours and Dalton is a great school! You'll meet little friends and you can bring them over! You always complain about how Cooper never wants to play with you anymore."

Blaine whimpers soften a little. "So there will be people who wanna play with me?"

Mrs. Anderson smiled "Yes sweet heart, and guess what I packed you for lunch?" she said while handing the brown lunch bag to a curious Blaine.

"PeePeeandJay!... and a Sunny D juice box! Thanks mom!"

"Anything for you darling, now you still haven't promised mommy you'll be a good boy at school today."

Blaine smiled. "I promise mommy."

Mrs. Anderson had to choke back tears as she set her boy off to school and promised him that she be home as he got out of school. "Be good darling, I love you."

"I love you too mommy!" Blaine said running into the already full school bus.

At 2:44 Mrs. Anderson was nervously pacing the floors of the kitchen awaiting her son's return from school. Blaine got out of school at 2:30 and he should be arriving home any minute now.

"Honey, stop pacing I'm sure his first day was just fine. Blaine's a good child." said Mr. Anderson

She sighed. He was right, Blaine was a good child but what mother didn't nervously await their child's return from the first day of school? And as if on cue she heard the school bus pull up in front of the house and ran to the front door.

Blaine came running up the driveway with a huge smile on his face and Mrs. Anderson was delighted to see that her son's first day appeared to go well.

"Mommy!" Blaine ran up into his mother arms while his mother embraced him with a hug.

"Hello darling, how was school? Did you like your teacher? Did you make any little friends? ..." Mrs. Anderson couldn't stop the endless amount of questions about her sons first day.

"Sweetie give the boy some time to answer your questions" Mr. Anderson laughed

"Oh mommy it was great! The classroom was so big! And there were so many toys! And Mr. Schuester is sooo nice!"

"Aww sweetie that's great! So did you meet any little friends?"

"Yeah! I made lots of friends!"

Mrs. Anderson was so relieved and happy to see that her youngest son first day had gone so well. Her son's school days were pretty much the same every day until he came home with a different account of events two weeks later.

As usual Mrs. Anderson awaited her son by the front door at 2:45 and greeted him with a hug and kiss and the usual "How was your day?"

"It was good mommy" Blaine said while grabbing a handful of peanuts from this kitchen table.

"Aw that's good darling" Mrs. Anderson declared. She was so happy Blaine was adjusting so well to school. Much better than her oldest son Cooper had at Blaine's age.

"But...." Blaine said after a couple of moments.

"But what sweetie? Did something happen?" Mrs. Anderson asked with a mixture of panic and curiosity

"Oh its nothing it's just... the teacher had to give time out to this boy today"

"Oh, why did the teacher give time out to the boy?" she asked.

"Well because he was saying bad words and Mr. Schuester didn't like it so he sent him to the corner and he couldn't play with the rest of the kids!"

"What's this little boy's name?"

Blaine pondered for a second and said "Kurt! His name is Kurt! Kurt said bad words and the teacher sent him on time out and he couldn't play with any of the kids!"

This was expected. When Cooper started school, there was a little boy just like that in his class. She just hoped Blaine wasn't friends with this Kurt boy. "Oh my, well I want you to promise me that you won't be saying any of these "bad words" this Kurt boy is saying."

Blaine just smiled and went up to his room.

The next day it was the same news when Blaine got home from school

"Mommy! Mommy! Guess what Kurt did today?"

"What did he do sweetheart?"

"He pinched the teacher! Mr. Schuester told him that play time was over and Kurt still wanted to play

and he just pinched the teacher!"

"My word! And what did your teacher do?"

"Well he sent Kurt to time out again! He told the rest of the kids not to play with him, but nobody listened to him and played with him anyway"

Every day it was the same thing. Blaine would come home and tell his mother of the many antics of Kurt. One day Kurt purposely spilled his juice all over a girl - Rachel her name was and the teacher sent him to time out. The day after that he threw all of the toy blocks on the floor and refused to help during clean up time, which of course landed him in time out. And the day after that, he put gum in the Rachel girl hair and laughed while she cried, which  not only landed him in time out but also in after school detention... which much to Mrs. Anderson dismay the whole class had to attend too.  Blaine told his mother something about "One bad apple can spoil the whole bunch".

In the fourth week Mrs. Anderson started to get a little worried.

"Honey, do you think we should be worried?" Mrs. Anderson asked her husband

Mr. Anderson looked up at her from the newspaper he was reading "About what?"

"Kurt! You heard Blaine's stories about him! He can be a bad influence on Blaine!"

Mr. Anderson chuckled. "Dear, Blaine will be just fine. There's no reason to be worried. We're raising him properly and he's happy. There are always going to be Kurt's out there dear and that's what little boys do."

Mrs. Anderson did not look convinced. "Look sweetie isn't that parent-teacher meeting next week? I can't make it because I have a work meeting of my own to attend to, but you can go there and talk to Blaine's teacher about this Kurt boy. And who knows? This Kurt boy's parents just might be there too... Just make sure to tell me what their like" Mr. Anderson laughed.

This seemed to ease Mrs. Anderson a little. Yes, she would go to the PTA meeting and see firsthand the kind of parents who raised the most troublesome boy to ever walk the halls of Dalton.

-One week later-

Today was the day. She would go the Parent-teacher meeting and finally see the parents of the notorious Kurt. She had all kinds of ideas of what they might be like. Criminals, circus freaks, and even animals... okay not animals but anyone who raised a child like Kurt must be pretty darn close.

As she was leaving out the door her husband called her.

"Good luck at the meeting honey, I want to hear all about it when you get home."

"Good luck at yours too and oh, don't worry I'll make sure to tell you every detail about the parents especially the zoo that they reside in."

"Honey, don't be too harsh. Remember, not every child can be as good as our Blaine."

"Yeah, well they don't have to be neanderthals either, and no one has anyone to blame but these parents! This Kurt boy can be putting ideas into our perfect little boy's head that this behavior is okay, and it most certainly is not"

Mr. Anderson sighed audibly through the phone, "Okay, dear. Well, my meeting is starting soon. Don't be too harsh on the kid's parents. Love you."

"I love you too"

-The PTA meeting-

"Hello parents, as you know I'm Mr. Schuester and......"

Mrs. Anderson tried to pay attention to what her son's teacher was saying but she was desperately trying to find this Kurt boy parents. They should be easy enough to find she thought. She would just look for the parents who looked out of place. The parents who were apologizing for their son's behavior.  Or even the parents who had their son leashed to their side. But, she couldn't spot them ... everyone looked normal to her, maybe they weren't there? But they have to be here she thought how can they have a meeting with Kurt's parents absent? These kinds of meetings were designed for them!

After a while Mr.Schuester began 101s with the parent's individually. Mrs. Anderson thought she might as well express her feelings about Kurt and his antics to the teacher since she couldn't find the parents.

"Hello and whose mother are you?" asked Mr. Schuester

"Good evening Mr. Schuester, I'm Blaine's mother. I've been wanting to meet with you for ages!"

"Oh... Blaine's mother. Blaine is a.... interesting kid."

"Oh yes, Blaine is very interesting! He loves this class and he's always talking about it!"

"Well... er... he certainly has a lot to talk about I bet."

"One thing he can't stop talking about, or should I say person, is this Kurt boy! I've been trying to look for his parents around here but I just can't spot them. They must be here though! How can they not be with a son like there's? Where are they?

"Kurt?" Mr. Schuester asked confusedly.

Mrs. Anderson laughed. "Yes Kurt! Blaine tells me all the antics of this boy and I'm quite surprised they let a boy like that into Dalton! But, I guess they let anyone in now-a-days... I must say I commend you for having to put up with such a nuisance on the daily basis! Haha so are his parents?"

"Kurt?" Mr. Schuester asked again.

"Yes! Yes! Kurt! I'm not sure of his last name, but there can't be that many Kurt's walking around here!" Mrs. Anderson laughed again.

" .... Kurt? Uh... I'm sorry Mrs.  Anderson but there's no Kurt in this kindergarten class."

End Notes: Haha! I hope you guys got the little joke. No?Think about it! :p
