I couldn't bring myself to open my eyes. I felt an arm around me. The weight of another person connected to the arm on the bed. I hear symphonies of hushes. Along with small whimpers.
"You're gonna wake up daddy," I hear Blaine say.
When I open my eyes, I'm greeted to the warmest sight. My husband has his left arm around me, my head rests between his shoulder and neck. Further down, he has our little creation and rocks him gently. I watch as his face softens. His big blue eyes star right back at me. I smile.
The hospital bed is warm with my family in it. Blaine lays on his side. I lay, cuddled up to his chest with baby Elliot not far, on his belly, resting on Blaine's torso.
"Hey, you're awake." Blaine says quietly, his eyes on mine. I hum in response. Those eyes are sweet. They're warm and welcoming. They're also precious and rare.
"How are you feeling? It takes a lot to do what you just did." Blaine's voice is soft. I smile at him.
"I'm fine. It was worth it." I reply. "I must look like I got hit by a bus."
I rub my eyes back to life with a groan. I felt a hand draw circles in my arm. I hear another whimper from next to me. Uncover my face and I hear Blaine mumble something.
"What was that?" I ask.
"I said..." He begins, "You look beautiful."
Heat radiates to my cheeks. I feel myself turning a dark shade of red.
Blaine looks at me with those eyes again. Lips curved upward. The baby is squirming under his touch.
"I love you. " he says.
"I love you, too."
Even after ten hours if labor, screaming, crying, promising to kill Blaine, banning sex from our lives... ETC... I feel amazing. Knowing that those eyes will be there. They only see me. And our little creation.
