"Kurt, slow down! I'm like a mile behind you!" Blaine calls from behind, hastily attempting to get his horse, Caramel, to speed up.
"You're exaggerating, Blaine!" Kurt laughs, looking back to catch a glimpse of his struggling boyfriend. "You can do better than that." He teases, tongue out and everything. Blaine grumbles.
"Why are you so good at this?" He groans before clucking his tongue, successfully speeding up Caramel's steady trot. He smiles to himself before he notices Kurt doing the same, increasing the distance between them again.
"Haven't you caught on already? I'm good at everything I do." Kurt taunts, sending a flirty wink in Blaine's direction before returning his attention to the fields ahead of them. He sighs deeply and closes his eyes for a few moments, taking in the feeling of the wind whipping around him, the light movement of his own horse, Spades, below him. Not to mention the all around happy glow he gets when he's with Blaine.
Before he realizes it, Blaine's horse has picked up speed, passing him by. Kurt opens his mouth, witty retort dancing on his tongue, but he quickly decides to keep it to himself. He'll let Blaine have this one, he supposes. Once Blaine is a safe distance ahead of Kurt, it's his turn to look back and tease.
But he doesn't. Instead he flashes Kurt one of his signature goofy grins. Kurt chuckles, smiling at the way the light hits Blaine's face. The scenery looks good on him, Kurt thinks. Blaine looks best this way, the strong wind making his massive amounts of hair gel lose it's grip, allowing a few curls to fly free. Kurt sighs happily. The sun is setting, and the air is growing colder by the minute. It's about time for them to head back to the stables.
But right now he doesn't care. He just wants to let every minute with this man sink in for as long as he can. Because even though he's just letting Blaine pass him, and even though Blaine's sense of victory is somewhat fake, the feeling of togetherness radiating through the two of them is real. And in this moment, Kurt is sure the reality of it all will never fade.
