Blaine smiled to himself, humming a little tune as he gazed longingly at their refrigerator calendar.
"Kurt, honey?" He cooed, brushing two fingertips over the smooth paper, across the date.
"Mm?" Kurt replied, resting his head on the table with a thunk. He'd yet to get his morning coffee. Kurt Hummel-Anderson is nothing without his morning coffee.
"Do you remember what day it is?" Blaine called over his shoulder, finally leaving his place at the fridge and standing in front of the coffee maker, leaning against the counter and punching in the various complex buttons required for it to start.
"Uh- Tuesday?" Kurt tried, attempting to lift his head from the table, and failing, resulting in a second, louder thunk. Blaine stifled a small laugh and turned to get a good look at his husband. Kurt's hair was messy and disheveled, piece by piece thrown every which way. He had very evident dark circles pooling under his eyes, and he appeared even paler than normal.
"Yes. It's Tuesday, but what day is it?"
"Twenty... Something." Blaine had to give Kurt points for his guess. Especially when he was typically even less articulate in the morning. "Twenty-third. It's the twenty-third."
"Good boy. Now what is so special about the twenty-third?" Blaine inquired, raising an eyebrow and lifting his coffee mug up to his lips to take a sip. Kurt closed his eyes and took in a deep, meaningful breath. He was clearly trying to remember.
"'Dunno." He finally answered, opening his eyes and looking at Blaine expectantly. Blaine smiled again, retrieving the second, matching coffee mug from the machine and placing it in front of Kurt at their kitchen table and assuming his place across from him.
"That's a shame." Blaine teased, placing his mug on the table and resting his chin on his hand. Kurt frowned and furrowed his eyebrows.
"Oh." Kurt sat up straighter, reaching for his coffee mug to take a sip. "I almost forgot, there was a package out on the front door step this morning. It took all I had for me not to open it. It was sent to you." Blaine laughed.
"I don't remember ordering anything. It must be a gift." He said as he got up from the table. Kurt shrugged and nodded.
"Must be." Blaine made his way to their front door, slowly swinging it open and leaning down to pick up the package. He returned to the other room and got out a small kitchen knife, carefully cutting his way into the cardboard. Kurt quietly observed him from the kitchen table, drinking his coffee.
"Oh..." Blaine audibly gasped as he opened the small package. A small, black bowtie with little white hearts stared back at him. He picked it up and examined it closer. On the inside of each heart, a little K&B was inscribed. He glanced up at his husband with tear-filled-eyes.
"I can't believe you thought I forgot our anniversary." Kurt grinned, chewing on his lower lip.
"It's precious."
"I know." Kurt shrugged one shoulder and chuckled, gesturing for Blaine to come over so he could kiss his nose. "Now, where's my present?"

Aw this story was so sweet. I love married Klaine. I am holding on to the belief that Kurt and Blaine will eventually get married or at least engaged on Glee. Until then I will continue to read cute stories like yours.
