Blaine chews on his lower lip as his fingers ghost over the keyboard of his laptop. He had been sitting like that for a while now. When he had finally decided on a sentence once and for all, his mother’s voice stops him before he can type it out.
“Blainey, dear, Kurt is here to see you!”
“Send him up”
“Thanks misses Anderson”
“I’ve told you to call me Emily”
Blaine smiles to himself as he hears his boyfriend stammer something about ‘a habit’ before ascending the stairs. The curly-haired teen, he had used considerably less gel today (and no, not just because Kurt had said he really liked to comb his fingers through Blaine’s hair), focused back on his writing.
“Hey there, Blainey”
Blaine hit ‘save’ and quickly shut his laptop before turning around and rolling his eyes at the beautiful boy casually leaning against the doorframe.
“If you love me even a little, you will never call me that again”, the younger boy said seriously as he approached his lover.
“Why not, it’s cute!”, Kurt chuckled
“It’s ridiculous and you know it. Hey”, Blaine greeted his boyfriend with a soft peck.
“Hey”
Kurt returned the gesture.
“And it’s not”
“Yes it is”, Blaine sighed, “I had finally got her to stop calling me ‘Blainers’ but then Coop randomly started calling me ‘Blainey’ and it just stuck”
“Blainey.. don’t worry about it so much”
“I’ve told you to stop calling me that, Kurtsie”
“Oh no you didn’t!”
“I believe I just did”
“Take it back!”
“Only if you promise to never call me ‘Blainey’ again, Kurtsie”
“That’s it!”
Blaine yelps when Kurt pounces on him and lands them both on the bed.
“K-Kurt! Ahaha! Stop! Pl-please”, he wheezes when Kurt starts tickling him, “N-no more!”
“Promise you’ll never call me that again!”
“I promise!”
“Good, Blainey”
“An opening!”
Now it’s Kurt’s turn to fight back as his boyfriend straddles him and gives the brunette a drop of his own medicine.
“Bl-Blaine! I surrender!”
The shorter boy releases his lover with a satisfied smirk and kisses him deeply. Kurt hums in reply and the boys continue to languidly explore each other’s mouths until Kurt gently pushes Blaine off of him.
“I thought we scheduled a homework session, not a make-out one”, he says with a smile
“But I haven’t seen you in a week!”, Blaine protests as he attempts to kiss his boyfriend’s neck.
“I know, but you needed help with your French paper right?”
“Fine..”
Blaine gives Kurt one last kicked-puppy look, but when Kurt doesn’t budge, he moves back to his desk.
“Oh, I left my assignment in my bag downstairs. I’ll go get it. Do you want something to drink?”
“Tea?”
“Tea it is”
The McKinley graduate chuckles at his vibrant boyfriend as he sits down behind the desk. Blaine had already prepared a second chair, of course, so all that was left to do now was to open a new Word document and get started.
When Blaine comes back, he finds his boyfriend reading something so intently that he can enter his room completely unnoticed. It’s only after he sets down the cup of tea in front of Kurt that he realizes what the boy is reading.
Oh dear God please no
“Kurt..?”
Kurt pulls his gaze away from the screen and shows Blaine a puzzled expression. The raven-haired teen holds his breath as he tries to gauge his boyfriend’s emotions.
“Did”, Kurt coughs to force his voice to drop from excited-5-year-old-girl to a more regular register, “Did you write that?”
Blaine pales, then blushes, then pales again as his mind tries to find the appropriate response.
“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you! Please don’t judge me”, is all he can muster and this leaves Kurt even more confused.
“Is this.. about you?”, he asks hesitantly
When Blaine only replies with a shocked expression, he continues:
“But the names are different? But if it’s about character, I suppose you’re this ‘Steve’? But his lover, that’s definitely not me.. Right?”
Kurt’s anxious voice finally pulls Blaine back to reality.
“Kurt!”, he says, “Kurt, that’s not about me. Of course it’s not about me!”
“But why would you- Who are these men?”, Kurt demands
The curly-haired teen sighs and shows his lover a shy smile.
“Remember when we went to that movie a few week ago?”
“The Avengers? Yeah, why?”
“Well..”
Blaine jerks his head in the direction of the screen and waits for it to click inside his boyfriend’s brain.
“Wh-.. OH!”, there it is, “Steve and Tony! Captain America and Ironman!”
“Yeah.”
“Why would you write about them though? They’re both straight right?”
“That’s debatable.. but I ship them together so..”, the curly-haired teen shrugs
“You ‘ship’ them? You mean you bought a figurine or something?”
Blaine laughs softly at his lover’s ignorance and sits down on his bed.
“No, ‘ship’ as in ‘relationship’, meaning that I think they are good together”
“Oh”
“Are there others who ‘ship’ them?”
“Yeah”
“And they all write stuff like that?”, Kurt asks as he makes a vague gesture towards the screen.
“Well, not all of them, but some of them do. Yeah”
“I see..”
“Kurt?”, Blaine starts cautiously, “Do you think I’m weird now?”
The older boy turns his chair around, making sure he’s facing his boyfriend as he says:
“Blaine, I always think you’re weird. Because, let’s face it, you’re a bit a goober”, Kurt grins and moves to sit next to his lover, “But I love that about you. I love every bit about you and yes, that includes your dubious obsession with two fictional characters and their love-life”
“I love you too”
