"Hey Kurt?"
Kurt put down the magazine he was reading and looked up at Blaine.
"Yes, Blaine?"
"Did it hurt?"
"Did what hurt?" Kurt asked, frowning.
"When you fell down from heaven."
Kurt rolled his eyes. "Really, Blaine?"
Blaine just shrugged and turned back to the counter where he was preparing dinner, humming along to the radio as if he hadnt said anything at all.
-----
Kurt had almost forgotten about it, until a week later they were sitting in their favourite coffee shop before class and Blaine suddenly blurted out: "Did you have lucky charms for breakfast?"
"Huh?" Of course he hadnt. When had he ever eaten lucky charms for breakfast? And why would Blaine even ask that? Theyd had breakfast together that morning, so Blaine knew perfectly well what hed eaten.
"No, of course I didnt," Kurt replied. "Why are you asking?"
"Because you look magically delicious!"
"Oh my God, are you serious right now?"
He was going to tell Blaine to stop being such a dork, but he was sitting there with that ridiculously cute grin on his face, looking quite proud of himself, so Kurt just gave him a judging look, or tried to at least. It wasnt all that easy to glare when he was simultaneously trying to hide a smile.
-----
Kurt was having a Bad Day. Yes, it deserved capitals. First Cassandra July had been a bitch during dance class, well, more of a bitch than usual, which was saying something. Then he had somehow managed to mess up an order during his shift at the diner, for which Gunther yelled at him in front of everyone and then continued to pick on him for the rest of his shift. And as if that wasnt enough, hed forgotten to pick up the groceries on the way home. Great.
Of course, when Blaine got home from class two hours later, he was his usual bubbly self, all happy chatter about how great his day had been, until he finally noticed how upset Kurt looked.
"Honey, are you okay?"
His first instinct was to snap at Blaine, yell that of course he wasnt okay, and why did it take him so long to even notice that? But Blaine was looking at him with such genuine concern in his eyes that Kurt made himself calm down first. He took a deep breath and said: "No, Im not okay. I had a really bad day today."
"Do you want to talk about it?" Blaine asked. Hed learned by now that Kurt didnt always want to talk, and that forcing him to do so was definitely not the best solution, so he always asked what Kurt needed.
Kurt sighed. "Not really. Could we just... sit on the couch for a while? Could you... just hold me, maybe?" It was never easy for Kurt to ask for things like this, but he knew from experience that Blaine never refused, never judged him in his moments of weakness. This time was no different.
"Yeah, of course. Come here." And just like that, Blaine pulled Kurt in his arms, holding him close and making the tension melt from his body.
When Blaine pulled back, Kurt smiled softly at him, already feeling better. However, thats when he noticed the glint in Blaines eyes. It was that glint that meant Blaine was about to say something really dorky. Before Kurt could even open his mouth to warn him not to say anything, Blaine went on. "You know, instead of cuddling, you could also come sit in my lap and we can talk about the first thing that pops up." He even wiggled his eyebrows, as if Kurt hadnt realized what he was talking about.
Kurt playfully shoved him in the chest. "Seriously, Blaine? Again? What the hell is up with all the bad pick-up lines?"
"I thought that was obvious," Blaine answered, looking rather smug, "Im flirting with you."
Kurt rolled his eyes. He seemed to be doing that a lot around Blaine lately.
"Ive noticed. I keep wondering why, though."
Blaine took a step closer, putting his arms around Kurts waist, and whispered in his ear: "Because Im a giant dork and you love it."
Kurt briefly considered shoving him away again, but he knew it was the truth, so he didnt argue. "You are a dork. But youre already my dork, so there really is no need for the flirting, Blaine."
"I know that," Blaine said, "I just like making you smile."
And really, how could Kurt argue with that? So he put his arms back around Blaines neck and let himself be held by his dorky boyfriend.
