The courtyard was now empty except for the two boys sitting on the stone steps.

"Please Kurt? Can I, please?"

Blaine was practically shaking, trying to keep himself seated. The warblers had all left and the McKinley students had gone back to their classes after the 'good-bye' performance. Now that there wasn't a crowd, Blaine could sing what he really wanted for Kurt.

While they had been dancing and jumping 'round the courtyard, Blaine had spotted a piano. He'd resisted the urge to play it while he sang 'Somewhere Only We Know', choosing to stay within hand-holding distance of his boyfriend. But now that the hysteria had calmed down some he was dying to play the lonely looking instrument for Kurt.

"I guess I can't really tell you no. It's all yours babe," Kurt responded with a smile.

Blaine's eye got impossibly brighter as he stood, raining butterfly kisses on Kurt's face before straying to the piano.

The shorter boy looked like an excited puppy, running his fingers over the keys and playing random chords. If Blaine had a tail, it would be a blur behind him.

Feeling a gaze on his person, Kurt glanced up and locked eyes with Blaine. A familiar tune began to echo throughout the space. Recognition showed on the countertenor's face as a version of 'Teenage Dream' began to take form.

Keeping the eye contact Blaine began to sing.

I think you're pretty
Without any makeup on
I think you're funny
When you tell the punchline wrong
I knew you got me
So you let your walls come down, down

It wasn't the original song the warbler had sang to his boyfriend the first time they'd met. It seemed sweeter almost.

Let's just talk all through the night
There's no need to rush
We can dance, until we die
You and I, will be young forever

You make me feel
Like I'm livin' a
Teenage dream

And just like that Kurt was trasnported back to that first day, going to spy on the competition only to find the boy of his dreams.

When you're around me,
Life's like a movie scene

It played in his mind, a crystal clear image. The white marble staircase, the crowd of uniformed boys, each one as handsome as the last. But one boy stood out from the rest.

I wasn't happy, until you became my king
I finally found you,
My missing puzzle piece
I'm complete

A hand was held out to him, a kind gesture from a stranger. Words were exchanged and soon Kurt felt himself being lead down a hallway, only this time it seemed to go in slow motion.

Let's just talk all through the night
There's no need to rush

The feeling of being sung to rushed through Kurt, and he found himself shivering. Once again he was back on the steps on McKinley listening to his once mentor, now lover, serenade him.

This is real
So take a chance and
Don't ever look back, Don't ever look back

It was in this moment that Kurt decided that he wouldn't look back. Not ever. He refused to look back on times without Blaine, the times that had been so bleak Kurt didn't think he would make it through. No, Kurt would only look forward. Look forward to new memories with Blaine and his new friends from Dalton, along with his old friends from glee club.

I'mma get your heart racing, if that's what you need,
In this teenage dream tonight
Let you rest your head on me, if that's what you need,
In this teenage dream tonight, tonight, tonight

The final note rang out around them, enveloping the two lovers in a momentary bubble of perfection. They walked towards each other slowly. Neither one dared to speak, not wanted to break the peace. Hands reached out and fit into one another like puzzle pieces. Tears shined but didn't fall.

A wet sounding chuckle fell from Blaine slips. "I guess this is where we say goodbye, yeah?"

Kurt pulled Blaine into a fierce hug never wanting to let go. Before releasing the other boy, the now ex-warbler whispered into his boyfriends ear.

"I'll never say goodbye to you."
