Kurt woke up early the next morning partially because he had to and partially because the nurse came into his dad's room to check his vitals.
"Good morning kiddo." Burt was sitting up in a chair. He still looked weak, but he was improving everyday.
"Morning Dad, how'd you sleep?" Kurt asked, standing up to stretch.
"Like a baby. You?"
"Okay I guess. I was up most of the night thinking about my trip today." Kurt hadn't told his father about kissing Blaine the night before.
"You know, you don't have to come back Kurt. You have a life in New York that you need to get back to."
"You are more important to me than New York." Kurt rolled his eyes, helping Burt to stand up.
"Kurt you-"
"Good mor- Oh, am I interrupting? I can come back later if-
"No, no Blaine. Please come in." Burt motioned Blaine into the room. "Nice bowtie."
"T-thank you. It's uh-"
"I got it for him yesterday." Kurt jumped in, smiling at Blaine. "It looks as good as I imagined it would."
Burt looked at both boys curiously, noticing something different between them.
"Blaine's going to drive me to the airport." Kurt said, noticing his dad's look.
"Hmm, that's it?"
"Dad."
"What?" Burt glanced between Kurt and Blaine, waiting to see which on would crack first.
"Really Dad?"
"Am I missing something or-"
"How can you tell?" Kurt asked Burt, ignoring Blaine.
"I know you better than you know you, I can just tell."
"That's creepy Dad." Kurt sighed and went to stand beside Blaine, taking his hand.
"Okay, I really missed something." Blaine said more to himself than anyone else.
"When did this happen?" Burt asked, unable to hide the happiness he felt.
"Last night, I kissed him and that's all that I'm going to share." Kurt crossed his arms over his chest.
"Okay, okay. I'm happy for you boys, I really am." Burt smiled at them.
"Thanks Dad, I just couldn't pretend that I didn't still have feelings for him."
"I was completely caught off guard. I wasn't expecting it at all." Blaine spoke up.
"I told you he'd come around eventually, didn't I?" Burt looked at Blaine knowingly.
"Yeah, yeah you did." Blaine laughed, slightly embarrassed.
"Oh great, you two talk about me when I'm not around?"
"Not all the time."
"Wow Dad, that's reassuring."Kurt rolled his eyes. "Blaine and I need to get going so I don't miss my flight."
"Alright kiddo, I'll see you when you get back."
"I'll see you soon. Blaine?"
"Coming." Blaine grabbed his bag and followed Kurt out the door.

The car ride to the airport was mostly silent, until Blaine spoke up.
"You'll call when you land right?"
"Yes, and I'll call when I get to the loft. Why are you so nervous?"
"I'm not nerv-"
"Blaine."
"I- fine, I might be a bit nervous because I'm afraid you'll get back to New York -to Adam- and you'll realize that I'm not-"
"I'm going to stop you right there. I don't want anyne but you. I love you Blaine, Adam was just a rebound. I thought I really liked him, and I do like him as a friend, but you're the only guy I want to be with."
"I know that Kurt I love you too, I just- I'm worried that once you get back to New York-"
"Stop worrying, we're going to be fine sweetie."
"I'm sorry." Blaine pulled his car into the parking space and turned to Kurt. "I love you so much Kurt."
Kurt reached across the console for Blaine's hands. "I love you too B, I never want you to doubt that again."
"I'm going to miss you." Blaine admitted quietly.
"I'll be back in a week, it'll pass before you know it." Kurt's smile faded a bit. "I'm going to miss you too."
"I wish I could go with you."
"You have school, and I need you to watch after my dad."
"I know, I just-"
"Flight 429 to New York will begin loading shortly."
"That's me." Kurt pointed to his ticket.
"Right let's go." Blaine grabbed Kurt's suitcase and followed him to the security line.
"Thanks for driving me, I'll call you when I land." Kurt took his case from Blaine.
"You're welcome, I'll be waiting." Blaine turned to leave but Kurt grabbed his arm and pulled him back.
"You forgot something."
"No I-" Blaine was cut off by Kurt pressing a kiss to his lips.
"I'll see you in a week." Kurt whispered as they pulled apart.
"Bye Kurt."
"Bye B."
Blaine headed back to his car, missing Kurt already. This is going to be the longest week of his life.
----------------------
When Kurt landed in New York, the first thing he did was turn his phone on to call Blaine.
"Kurt?"
"Hey, I made it, I'm still at the airport."
"Good. I'm glad you made it safely. I miss you already."
"I miss you too. Hey, I need to go, I'll call you when I get to the loft."
"Alright I'll talk to you later."
"I love you Blaine."
"I love you too Kurt."
Kurt hung up and headed out into the busy streets of New York City, feeling like he'd never left.
It only took him a ten minute walk to get to the loft where Rache was waiting to hear all about his dad and his trip to Ohio."
"So what about Blaine and Adam, have you made up your mind?"
"Yes, and you were right, Adam is my rebound. I thought I loved him, but I'll never love anyone the way I love Blaine."
"So you pick Blaine?"
"Yes, I pick Blaine." Kurt said with a smile, it felt good to admit it out loud.
"I'm so happy for you Kurt!" Rachel hugged him tightly. "Wait, what are you going to do about Adam?"
"We're going for coffee tomorrw, I'm going to talk to him then."
"You're making the right choice Kurt. Blaine is your soulmate."
"I know I am, I finally feel like things are back to normal, even with Dad being in the hospital."
"It's good to see you smiling again."
"It's good to have a reason to smile." Kurt said, grabbing the remote. "How about a movie and pizza, New York Dominos is way better than Lima Dominos after all."
"That sounds perfect, you pick the movie, I'll order the pizza."
Kurt went to pick the movie, deciding on Moulin Rouge which made him think of Blaine, so he grabbed his phone and sent a text.
K: Watching Moulin Rouge w/ Rachel, made me think of you.
Blaine replied a few minutes later
B: Come what amy, I will love you until my dying day. Have fun, call me later?
K: Of course.
Kurt pocketed his phone and sat back on the couch, quietly humming Come What May and feeling completely happy for the first time in a long time.
