The summer came and went, sophomore year of college started up for both boys, and wedding planning was coming to an end.
The first two months of school seemed like a blur with getting settled into classes and finalizing everything for the wedding. However, it is now October meaning there is one month until they exhange "I Do's" and become husbands, and they still have a couple things to do before November 2nd roles around.
"Okay, so we agreed on the seating arrangements which means that is officially done. Now all we need to do is write our vows, get the actual marriage licenses, and make a final decision on the rings." Kurt was reading off the check list. It was Friday night, so they had the entire weekend to work on those final things.
"We'll have to go Monday right after classes to get the licenses, I called to make sure they would be in and everything." Blaine sat down on the couch, handing Kurt a glass of ice water.
"Okay, so that leaves writing our vows and the rings. Obviously, we have all month to write the vows, so that isn't a big deal. The rings are an issue though."
"We'll go tomorrow and decide on the rings, we won't leave until we've picked them out."
"Good, I want to get everything finished so we don't have to rush aroun a week before the wedding still trying to plan it." Kurt closed the binder and tossed it onto the coffee table.
"I know. Besides, we'll be having guests coming in that week, we need to be done with the planning so we can focus on them."
"Exactly." Kurt sighed, he was exhausted. It had been a long week at school, trying to have Apples practice without Adam was proving harder than anyone expected.
"Hey Kurt." Blaine spoke up again, pulling Kurt away from his thoughts.
"Yeah sweetie?"
"A month from now we'll be in Paris on our honeymoon. We'll be husbands."
"Yep. This is really happening, we're really getting married and I can't wait." Kurt smiled, hoping Blaine knew just how much he meant that.
"Me either Kurt, me either."
They went to bed not long after that, wanting to be well rested for ring shopping.
"Good afternoon gentlemen! How can I help you?" The young man behind the jewlery counter smiled at them when they walked in.
"We're getting married next month and we still haven't gotten our rings, we'd like to do that today."
"Okay then, follow me." The young man, Jordan according to his name tag, headed towards the back of the store where the mens jewlery was displayed. "What exactly are you looking for?"
"Something simple, yet elegant." Blaine spoke while Kurt looked a the different rings.
"Do you have a preferred metal? Gold, silver,-"
"Not gold, I don't want gold." Kurt said offhandedly.
"We do have this platinum ring, it's a simple design and still looks good." Jordan picked the ring out of the display to show them.
"Kurt, it's beautiful." Blaine whispered, his eyes not leaving the ring.
"Would it be weird if we both have the same ring?" Kurt looked to Jordan for an answer.
"I don't think so personally, but that's your decision. It's whatever you want."
"Blaine, can we have the same ring?" Kurt asked Blaine hopefully.
"Of course, I'd love that." Blaine managed to tear his eyes off the ring and look at Kurt.
"Okay good. Do you have another ring just like that?" Kurt turned back to Jordan.
"We have this ring in every size in the back, this is just the display ring. I'll go get the rings and get you gentlemen rung up." Jordan smiled as he turned to go get the rings.
With the rings purchased, Kurt and Blaine walked out of the store, happy and in love, and ready to get married.
The rest of the weekend went by fast. Saturday night they went out with Rachel, Lucy, and Adam to celebrate getting the rings. Sunday they just lounged around the condo, finishing up work for school and watching When Harry Met Sally that night.
Monday morning brought excitement. They both got out of class around noon and they were going to City Hall to get their marriage license.
Kurt was the first one awake, so he showered quickly then went to make breakfast. He hadn't made omlets in forever, so he decided that's what he would make. Once he finished getting breakfast ready, he went to wake Blaine.
"Blaine, wake up. I made omlets."
"Mmm omlets?" Blaine mumbled.
"Yep. I know how much you love them, I even added the turkey to yours like you always ask for."
Blaine sat up and gave Kurt a sleepy smile. "What did I do to deserve that?"
"You promised me I could pick out your outfit for today." Kurt grinned.
"Uh, no I didn't. I don't remember promising this."
"Too bad, it's already a done deal. Let's go eat before the food gets cold, then I'll worry about your outfit." Kurt pulled Blaine up and headed to the kitchen, mentally going through Blaine's side of the closet as he walked.
"Kurt, come on, we're not actually getting married today, I don't need to be dressed up."
Kurt just ignored Blaine's protest as he he handed him yet another cardigan. He couldn't figure out which one he liked best.
"Kurt, seriously, the grey one is fine, it goes with the red shirt. Plus, I can wear those new shoes you bought me with this outfit."
"Fine, okay. The grey one wins." Kurt huffed, hanging the other five cardigans he had out, back in the closet.
"Okay, so our plan is to meet at City Hall at 12:30 right?" Blaine wanted to make sure they had everything planned and were on the same page.
"Yeah, that's the plan. You have all the paper work we'll need right?"
"Yep, it's right here." Blaine tapped his bag with a smile.
"Good. Well, I guess I'll see you at 12:30."
"I guess so. Have a good day."
"You to Blaine. I love you."
"I love you too."
They each headed off to their own school, giddy with excitement about what was to come.
Kurt was late. It was 12:45 and Kurt was nowhere to be found. Blaine was more worried than annoyed because Kurt wasn't answering his phone and that wasn't like him.
He dialed for about the seventh time and fianlly, Kurt picked up. "Blaine! I'm so sorry, out lecture ran over and I couldn't get out, I'm almost there."
"It's okay. I was a little worried, I'm just glad you finally answered." Blaine didn't even try to hide his relief.
"I know honey, I'm so, so, so, sorry."
"It's fine Kurt, really. Don't rush."
About five minutes later Kurt came jogging up the street towards Blaine. "Alright, let's do this."
Blaine just smiled and took Kurt's hand as they headed inside the building.
Later that evening, after dinner, they were laying in bed, both exhausted from the crazy day.
"We have twenty six days until the wedding." Kurt said, just thinking out loud.
"I know, time has flown by. Any second thoughts, cold feet?" Blaine asked, only half joking.
"Not at all, my feet are nice and toasty thanks to this amazing heat blanket." Kurt laughed before looking at Blaine seriously. "I feel nothing but happiness and excitement, no second thoughts, I promise. What about you?"
"None. I am so happy to be marrying you, I love you so much."
"Good. I love you too."
They laid there, wrapped up in each other's arms until they fell asleep. The wedding date would be here before they knew it.
