"Kurt! If you don't hurry up, we're going to be late!" Blaine yelled down the hallway where Kurt was still trying to pick out his outfit.
"You can't rush perfection Blaine, and we're not going to be late so hush!" Kurt yelled back.
Blaine let out a frustrated sigh and sat down on the couch to wait for Kurt.
Ten minutes later, Kurt came into the room dressed in dark blue jeans with the ends rolled up, an impossibly tight light blue button up with the sleeves pushed up to his elbows and a dark grey vest. "How do I look?"
"Amazing, as always. Can we go now?" Blaine tried to sound annoyed, but Kurt really looked great, it was kind of distracting.
"Yes, come one. You look great by the way, is that a new shirt?" Kurt took Blaine's hand as they walked towards the elevator.
"Mhmm, it's a graduation gift from Lucy. I promised her I would wear it today."
"She has good tastes. I knew there was a reason why I liked her." Kurt joked. "Speaking of Lucy, she has your cap and gown right?"
"Yep. She's bringing it with her which is why we need to hurry, so I can get it before the ceremony starts." Blaine started walking faster once they were outside of the building.
"Blaine honey, we have time, slow down."
"Blaine! Kurt!" Lucy ran up to them as soom as she spotted them.
"Hey Lucy, do you have-"
"Right here." Lucy interupted and handed one of the two garment bags she was holding to Blaine.
"Thank you Lu-Lu. Should we be getting lined up?"
"Probably. There's Carrie and Josh, let's go stand with them."
"I'll see you when it's over." Blaine smiled and pulled Kurt into a hug.
"I love you and I am so proud of you." Kurt whispered into Blaine's ear as he hugged him back.
"I love you too." Blaine said before letting Lucy drag him away, leaving Kurt to find his seat alone.
Just as he was about to sit down, Kurt heard someone yelling his name. When he looked up, he found Andrea, James, Cooper, Finn, Rachel, Burt, and Carole all walking towards him.
"Oh my God! I-I- we- what- how?" Kurt was completely speechless.
"It's good to see you too Kiddo." Burt laughed, hugging his son.
"B-but you-"
"Change of plans. I got one of the other congressmen to fill in for me so we could be here."
"Andrea, James-"
"A good side to owning your own company is taking time off whenever you want." James explained with a smile.
"Blaine is going to freak out when he sees all of you." Kurt finally managed a complete sentence.
"It's not just Blaine's surprise, it's yours as well. We called Rachel about a month ago and had her set everything up." Carole spoke up.
"Rachel, you knew? How on earth did you keep it to yourself?" Kurt looked at Rachel in disbelief.
"Believe it or not Kurt, but I'm pretty good at keeping secrets." Rachel said, her arm linked with Finn's.
Kurt raised his eyebrow at their linked arms. "Clearly."
"Let's get seated, it's about to start." Andrea headed towards a section of empty seats.
Kurt followed his family to their seats, still getting over the shock of them actually being here. He couldn't wait to see Blaine's reaction.
"Oh my- Mom! Dad! What-" Blaine looked around at his family, he didn't think they were going to be able to make it.
"We changed our plans, we could miss our boys graduating." Andrea hugged Blaine tightly.
"Cooper, I thought you were stuck filming your movie."
"I managed to get the weekend off to come watch my brother and brother-in-law graduate."
"Did you know?" Blaine asked Kurt.
"No, but Rachel did. She's been keeping secrets."
"Really? I didn't think that was possible." Blaine joked.
"Why does no one believe I can keep secrets?" Rachel whined.
"Because we're your best friends, we know you."
"Well, I've been keeping secrets for a while now, so obviously you don't know me as well as you think."
"Obviously not." Kurt eyed her and Finn knowingly.
"So, how about dinner on us?" James jumped in, changing the subject before it got out of hand.
"You don't have to Dad, we-"
"Okay, I shouldn't have given you an option to say no because it's not up for discussion. We are all going out for dinner, and your mother and I are paying."
"I think it sounds great, we haven't seen you guys in forever." Kurt linked his arm with Blaine's and smiled
"Alright then, let's go."
They all headed out into the city. Kurt held Blaine back so everyone could walk a little ways ahead of them.
"What does it feel like to be a college graduate?"
"I really don't feel any different to be honest. I'm just glad it's over with." Blaine answered.
"Are you going to start working full time at the coffee shop now?"
"I'm thinking about it. At least until I can start getting auditions."
"Whatever you want is fine by me. I think Isabelle wants me to pick up more hours after I graduate."
"We'll talk more about it later okay?" Blaine asked as they entered the restaurant of Cooper's choosing.
"Okay. Let's just enjoy having them here." Kurt gestured to their family.
They spend the rest of the evening hanging out with their family and Rachel, cathing up, and just enjoying their wonderful life. Little did they know that in just a month or so, their lives would change forever.
