It was the first day of senior year and Kurt Hummel was dreading it. The Glee Club had come in 2nd place at Nationals, causing them to become the laughing stock of the town, he just knew the first day back at school would be hell.

"Hey Kurt come on, we'll be late." Finn appeared in Kurt's doorway.

"I'll be there in a second. Screw it, I'll probably be slushied before first period anyway." Kurt sighed as he picked up his bag. "Let's go."

"Have a good first day back boys." Carole called as they walked past the kitchen.

"Thanks Mom."

"Bye Carole."

"So are you driving or am I?" Finn asked.

"You can, you'd have to move your car anyway."

They were both quiet the entire drive to McKinley, trying to imagine what the jocks were going to do as a welcome back gift.

"Well, we're here, are you ready?" Finn looked over at his stepbrother like he was looking for a reason not to just drive off.

"Not at all, but this is our senior year, we've made it this far, we can get through one more year." Kurt felt like the was trying to convince himself as much as Finn. "Besides, Rachel would kill both of us if we missed the first day of senior year, so we really don't have a choice."

"Good point." Finn said, taking a deep breath before getting out. "I'll see you in Glee Club." 

"Yeah, okay." Kurt said, following Finn towards the doors. Kurt had history first while Finn had English.

Little did Kurt know that today was the beginning of the craziest and most emotionally exhausting year he'd ever had at McKinley High.

"Shit." Blaine Anderson woke up to the sounds of Roxy music filling his room. He knew he needed to get up and start getting ready, he didn't want to be late on his first day to a new school.

As he rolled out of bed, he looked around his room, surveying the boxes that were piled into corners. "I should have moved in sooner, I'll never get all of this stuff unpacked now."

Thankfully he'd picked out his outfit last night, he really couldn't afford being late, he needed this to work out.

See, the think about Blaine is, he's a 25 year old English teacher who just moved back to Ohio after being asked to leave his teaching job in Florida. Apparently there had been one too many parent complaints about their children being taught by a young, capable homosexual, whatever that meant. So they asked him to leave, it was only by a miracle that Blaine had heard about the job opening at McKinley in Lima Ohio.

Blaine never thought he'd be back in Ohio. He'd graduated from Dalton Academy in Westerville, but moved away as soon as he could. Ohio really wasn't the best place for the young, openly gay man.

"Neither is Florida, obviously." Blaine sighed as he checked himself in the mirror, making sure his bowtie was straight and his hair was properly gelled down. "Okay Blaine, you can do this, it's just like before, only this time you're in Ohio and no one can find out that you're a friend of Dorothy. How hard can it be?" Blaine tried giving himself a pep talk, but only succeeded in making himself feel worse. He'd decided that in order to make sure he kept this job, he'd keep his sexuality  a secret. He had't had a boyfriend in years, so he didn't have anyone to tie him down and expose his secret. "It should be easy as long as I'm careful."

Little did Blaine know that the universe had something completely different in store for him.
