Kurt Hummel is a 35 year old successful fashion designer for Vogue.com, he is one of the most well-known designers in the world and he has traveled all over the world showing off his popular designs. Everyone in the business wants to work with or for Kurt and no one wants to be on his bad side because rumor has it, he's got one heck of a temper and isn't afraid of putting you in your place.

Kurt is the type of person that everyone wants to be around, but he hasn't always been. When Kurt was in high school, he was a nobody, a loser. Being the only out gay kid in your small, Lima Ohio high school didn't put Kurt at the top of many people's friends list. Being in Glee Club and having a high pitched voice didn't help matters any, needless to say, Kurt was the target of many cases of bullying. If he focuses long enough, he can still feel the humiliating sting of a slushie facial, or the feeling of his body being slammed into the lockers by the jocks.

Once he had graduated, Kurt moved to New York with his best friend Rachel Berry who had been his Glee Club rival all throughout high school. They had both applied to NYADA, but Kurt hadn't been accepted, still, Rachel convinced him to come with her so she didn't have to take on New York by herself. Needing a source of income, Kurt applied for an internship with Vogue.com under Isabelle Wright, and was given the job straight away. He still wanted to pursue performing, so the following semester he reapplied to NYADA and after a surprise audition at the Winter Showcase, he was accepted.

One thing he learned very quickly was college was just like high school. You still have your popular kids and your geeks, but the difference was that everyone was too busy worrying about themselves to focus on other people. While trying to find his place in NYADA, Kurt met Adam Crawford, a senior and "fearless leader" of a NYADA glee club called Adam's Apples, and before he knew it, he and Adam were inseparable. Kurt had never met anyone quite like this man, he was funny, cute, charming, and for some reason, very into him. Kurt had went through four years of high school hoping he'd find romance, and finally, he had.

Kurt and Adam dated all through Kurt's four years at NYADA and everyone expected them to get married eventually beccause as Kurt had put it, Adam was his "soulmate." Adam went on to becme a successful Broadway actor while Kurt ended up back at Vogue, and they were happy. They had a little apartment on the lower East Side and spent all their free time together. It was at Kurt's first ever fashion show where his designs were featured that Adam proposed, and Kurt of course said yes. They were married a year later in a beautiful ceremony at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens.

Two years later, they started to look into having kids because they both wanted to start a family together, it had been something they had discussed back in college. Eventually, they settled on surrogacy and were gifted with a beautiful baby boy who Adam said looked just like Kurt. They were happy and living their dream life together in the city of their dreams, nothing could ever take that away from them. Or so Kurt thought.

Seven years after having their son, Cory, Adam and Kurt were far from happy. Kurt had become very powerful in the fashion world, he was always on trips to fashion shows all over the world and that took a huge toll on his marriage. Kurt and Adam had been arguing more and more, and it always ended with Kurt walking out and not coming back for a week or so with an extravagant gift and an apology for his husband. After one particularly bad fight, Kurt stormed out saying that he was done with Adam and their marriage. Two days later when he'd had time to calm down and think it over, he went back to their apartment to talk to Adam about everything, only to find him in bed with one of his co-stars.

Now, one year after finding his husband cheating on him, Kurt is back in Ohio, looking for a fresh start. His divorce was finalized a month ago, he has full custody of Cory, and he's ready to see where this fresh start will take him. Little did he kow that it would take him into a friendship with his son's 3rd grade music teacher.

Blaine Anderson is a 34 year old elementary school music teacher at Lima Elementary in Lima Ohio. Teaching wasn't exactly what Blaine had wanted to do with his life, but then again, when had his life went the way he wanted it to?

Blaine had had a less than ideal childhood and teenaged life to say the least. He always had to live in the shadow of his older brother Cooper who was everyone's favorite Anderson. When he was 13 he came out to his parents who weren't thrilled to hear that their son was gay, but still supported him in everyway they could. When he was 15 he was beat up at his school's Sadie Hawkins dance and was in the hospital for over a week. After that incident, his parents moved him to Dalton Academy, an all boy's private school in Westerville that has a no bullying policy. While at Dalton, Blaine became the guy that everyone wanted to be friends with, he was charming, kind, caring, and lead of the Warblers, the acappella glee club. Dalton was Blaine's safe haven, he liked being in the spot light. at Dalton he wasn't "Cooper's younger brother", he was "Blaine Anderson, Dalton Academy heartthrob" and it felt amazing.

Blaine graduated from Dalton and instead of leaving to go to college, he stayed in Ohio where he went to The Ohio State University for music. He had big dreams of moving to New York or LA ad becoming a musician, but he wasn't ready to leave Ohio just yet, and quite a few of his friends were also attending OSU as well, so he had plenty of reasons to stay.

He dated off and on throughout college, nothing too serious, not wanting to settle down just yet, but also not wanting to be completely alone. He always made it clear up front to every guy he dated that he wasn't looking for commitment, and most of them were fine with that. Blaine's focus was on his schooling and his music, nothing was more important than those things, relationships would only get in the way of his dreams.

He graduated valedictorian of his class and was lined up for a record deal in California when his entire life was flipped upside down. Cooper and his wide were involved in a car accident, killing her and leaving Cooper paralyzed from the waist down. The accident left Cooper not only physically scared, but also mentally, it got so bad that he had to placed in the hospital, leaving his son, Tyler, without parents and being placed into foster care. Blaine was listed as the next-of-kin in case something was to happen to Cooper and his wifr, so after a long, trying process, Blaine was given full custody of his nephew. Finding himself as a new father, Blaine was forced to put his dreams on hold to care for his nephew turned son.

Blaine dropped the record deal and decided to stay in Ohio to raise Tyler so he could be around his family. He knew he'd need to get a job, raising a kid sure as hell isn't cheap, the only problem was, he didn't know what kind of job he could get with a degree in music. Thankfully, he didn't have to stress about it too long. He was going in to register Tyler for school at Lima Elementary when he overheard the prinicpal talking about needing a music teacher, and after a discussion with the prinicpal and the school board, he was hired. It wasn't exactly what he wanted, but it was better than nothing, plus, this meant he could keep an eye on Tyler who was having a bit of an issue adjusting to his new life with Blaine.

Blaine learned to love his job and love the kids he got to work with, they were so full of life and happiness that it was hard not to. Every year Tyler was adjusting more and more, he no longer had nightmares about his mom and dad, he had even started calling Blaine dad every now and then. Now he's entering 3rd grade and he's one of the most well-behaved students in the entire school.

Blaine is very proud of how far Tyler has come, he's sometimes thought about what it would be like to have smeone to share this experience with. He knew Tyler would be fine with him having a relationship because he's asked him countless times if Blaine has a boyfriend yet, and Blaine's answer is always no. He doesn't need a boyfriend, he's doing just fine by himself, but he'd by lying if he said he hadn't started thinking about it a lot after he'd turned 30. He knew he didn't want to be single forever, but it had been so long since he had dated anyone that he'd forgotten what it was even like. He had resolved himself to believe that if he was meant to find someone, he'd find them when he least expected it. He had no idea just how right he was.
