THANK YOU FOR READING I LOVE YOU
please review, it will make me life thank you again
until next time, my friends :)
Blaine was honestly feeling kinda bored. It was only the third week of the summer holidays and he still had three more weeks to go until school starts again. He's been texting his friends briefly, but most of them have been on holiday, or just too busy to chat or meet up. Over three whole weeks, he's talked to Jeff on the phone twice, met up with Wes once, and accidently bumped into David at the supermarket. He missed his friends a lot.
Yes, okay... Blaine was feeling lonely.
Very lonely.
It's not like he can hang with his parents either... Most of the time they're on business trips so they're hardly even at the house, and when they are, he can't stand being in the same room as them for more than twenty minutes without wanting to punch them in the face.
But he would never actually punch them in the face... Obviously...
It's not his fault he doesn't get on with his parents. After all, they're the ones who aren't happy with his sexuality. They've never even said that they weren't, but ever since the night he came out to them, Blaine could tell they weren't okay with it; they were doing a pretty bad job at hiding it.
He knows that they pretend to be fine with the fact he's gay, but they've always been incredibly bad liars.
Anyway, his holidays so far have been incredibly boring. He's been spending the majority of his time walking Frodo, his dog, cooking himself meals with the money his parents would leave before they go away for a business trip, and going out on daily jogs.
Yesterday was the only interesting day he'd had. He went to the park as normal to play fetch with Frodo, but there was that boy who he's never seen before.
That boy who was reading with the coiffed hazelnut hair and sparkling eyes and the adorable smile.
That boy.
They didn't talk, but they smiled at each other which counts for something, right?
Unfortunately, he didn't see the boy at the park again today, but it wasn't like he'd go talk to him if he was there. For all he knew he was just some random stranger.
Blaine's phone buzzed in his pocket as he got home after his daily jog. He got it out to read the text and saw it was from his mother.
‘Trip extended for five more days. Money for food in top drawer in kitchen. See you on Thursday.'
He sighed whilst placing it back in his back pocket; he wasn't surprised at all. Sometimes it feels like they try to stay away for as long as they can.
Blaine finally decided to go out to the Lima bean as he hadn't been there for quite a while and he really felt like a coffee.
Upon arriving, he felt a pang in his chest as he remembered that the Lima Bean is somewhere he always went with his friends.
There was no queue, so he just walked straight up to the front to place his order. Behind the till was a very, very, tall, unfamiliar guy he had never seen working there before. Maybe he just got the job?
“Hey there! Welcome to the Lima Bean, my name is Finn. Can I take your order?” The tall guy – Finn – asked him, with a massive grin.
“Hi! Err, yeah... Could I get a medium drip please?” He attempted a smile back at Finn. He liked happy people.
“Coming right up!” After a second, Finn turns to him with a worried look upon his face and says, “Hey, are you okay? You look kinda down... Everything okay?”
Blaine, taken aback by the sudden question, but happy that a completely random stranger cares about him and wants to talk, answered back, “Thank you for asking... But, it's quite a long story.”
Finn just shrugged and replied with, “Take a look around, this place is almost completely empty and you've been the first one to walk in for about half an hour. I've got time to listen.”
“Whoa... I guess so. Where should I start?” Blaine asks himself.
“Why don't you come sit down, and your name would be a great start,” Finn chuckles. He leads Blaine over to the closest table and sits opposite him. He slides his coffee towards Blaine, waiting for him to start.
“Well, my name is Blaine and I-...”
He says it all. He's spilling out everything that's been on his mind, and everything that's happened in the past two years to this complete stranger. He has no idea why... It could be the lonely thing... He supposes he's just happy to have someone listen to him. And Finn wasn't even freaked out about the whole gay thing.
“Whoa, dude, I can see why you would look so down. That sounds tough. You can always hang out here if you need someone to talk to, I'd be more than happy to listen, man.” Finn says calmly, after Blaine finished rambling.
“Thanks Finn, it means a lot. You know, I really appreciate this.”
“It's cool, bro. And I get what you mean by the whole bullying thing in high school, my half-brother, Kurt, was bullied pretty bad too. He's actually joining a school here after summer.”
Blaine, suddenly curious, asks, “Oh really? What school is he-”
“Wait! I have an idea!” Blaine was cut off sharply by Finn. With a broad smile on his face, he continued. “So basically, my family are having this house warming party in, like, two days. You should totally come over! It would be so much fun and you won't be lonely and there will be a bunch of people there.”
“Oh, I don't know, Finn. I wouldn't want to be a pain-”
“No, you totally should! It's not like a big party, it will be fun! And we're, like, bros now so you sort of have to come..”
Chuckling softly, Blaine replied, “I guess I could come over. Thanks Finn. That'll be great!” Blaine didn't think Finn could smile any bigger after he said that. “I don't really have any plans for a while, so it would be fun to actually go out somewhere for once,” he added with a wide smile.
“Hey, no problem, Blaine. Since we hardly even know each other, you can always bring a friend to tag along if you want to?”
Hmm... Well, Jeff was coming back from holiday tonight, and he never misses an opportunity for a good laugh. Blaine decides he would call him after his dog walk today.
“Anyway, here comes some customers, better get back to work. See ya, bro!” Finn waves Blaine off as he stands up to address some new customers from behind the till.
“Bye, Finn,” Blaine chuckles as he makes his way out of the coffee shop, smiling to himself.
He just made a new friend.
Two hours later, Blaine was walking Frodo again. He was in such good spirits for the first time in ages, so he decided to pay the beautiful park a visit again.
As soon as Blaine was on the field, he grabbed the dog's ball from his bag and started to wave it in front on Frodo's face.
“Hey, boy! You want the ball?” He asks Frodo, in his ‘dog talk voice'. It was much higher than usual, but it just came naturally when talking to Frodo, whom at the moment was barking excitedly, ready to run for the ball. “And... GO!” at ‘go'; Blaine throws the ball as far as he can, Frodo sprinting off, still barking madly.
From behind Blaine, he can hear soft laughs. He turns around, half expecting it to be –
Him. The Boy.
There he is, standing gracefully, laughing to himself as he watches Frodo run back with the ball in his mouth, his tail wagging crazily. When Frodo gets to Blaine, he doesn't stop running, he keeps going and going, eventually stopping at... The boy.
Blaine runs over towards the two of them quickly after noticing the way Frodo was circling The Boy in greeting, pouncing up a few times, barking like mad.
“I'm so sorry, about Frodo... He can be very excitable sometimes... Wow, look he got your shirt all dirty, I'm incredibly sorry-”
The Boy is quick to interject, “Hey, no it's fine! It'll wash off...” God, his voice! He's never heard anything like it; it's such a beautiful sound, he wishes The Boy would just talk for hours at him. “I was just leaving and I saw your dog looking so happy, it reminded me of a dog I had when I was little...” The Boy smiles sweetly before extending his hand to Blaine and saying, “My name's Kurt.”
Kurt! The Boy has a name and it's so beautiful! Kurt, Kurt, Kurt.
Blaine is quick to accept the handshake. He smiles back at Kurt for a while before realising he hasn't said anything back and is just standing there holding Kurt's soft hand. “Blaine!” He blurts out loudly. Feeling a blush cover his cheeks, he says nervously, “I mean... My name is Blaine.”
Kurt's smile widens, still shaking Blaine's hand. “Nice to meet you, Blaine.”
“You too, Kurt.”
They smile at each other for another second before dropping their hands.
“Well, my dad's expecting me back in ten minutes, so I'd better go...” Kurt says, a hint of regret in his tone. Blaine pretends not to notice.
“Oh, well, goodbye then. And good luck getting the mud off your shirt, I'm sorry again for Frodo...”
“It's no problem,” Kurt laughs softly. “I'll see you around, Blaine.”
“Goodbye, Kurt.” Blaine replies, smiling sweetly.
“And goodbye, to you too, Frodo,” Kurt says, petting the dog for a few seconds before waving at Blaine and walking towards the exit, leaving Blaine watching after him, the dog by his side.
He sighs to himself, a smile still on his face. Today has been a very good day.
