Blaine and Troy drifted apart after Troy got kicked out of the Warblers. They saw each other less and less until it got to the point where Blaine barely said hello if they passed in the halls.

In the Warblers, Kurt acted as if their afternoon in his dorm never happened. Whenever Blaine went over for French, they literally just studied French until Kurt asked Blaine to leave. During Warbler rehearsals, Blaine was no longer favoured by Kurt, like everyone seemed to think he was. He wasn’t placed to sing at the front next to Marc anymore, he was hidden next to Trent towards the back and given the least amount of lines as seemed possible. Kurt never looked at him during rehearsals, but Sebastian shot him a lot of apologetic looks. Blaine still ate lunch with Sebastian and Marc, but was surprised if Kurt ever sat with them anymore. Nick and Jeff joined them most of the time, but no one ever bought up Kurt whenever Blaine was there. Blaine figured that Kurt had moved on from trying to harass him, and he wasn’t complaining, he really really disliked Kurt, but there was still that part of him that wondered who Kurt was half the time. It seemed that Kurt had let Blaine in too deep too fast and taken him away just as quickly.

On a snowy December Monday afternoon, Blaine sat in the Warblers rehearsal room, waiting for everyone to get into order so they could practise doo-wapping behind Kurt as he sung every solo in every medley of every type of song. Kurt walked in, flagged by Sebastian and Marc, as usual, and he stood at the front, all eyes on him.

“Today I want to sing a song for Blaine.” He smiled sarcastically. “Because I know how much he can relate to it, and I realised that we hadn’t properly welcomed him into the Warblers yet.”

Kurt turned and looked pointedly at Sebastian, who pressed play on a CD player and then sat back, suppressing a smile.

Kurt stood forward, looking directly at Blaine as he sung.

Now I'm of consenting age to be forgetting you in a cabaret.
Somewhere downtown where a burlesque queen may even ask my name
as she sheds her skin on stage
I'm seated and sweating to a dance song on the club's P.A.
The strip joint veteran sits two away
Smirking between dignified sips of his dignified peach and lime daiquiri

And isn't this exactly where you'd like me
I'm exactly where you'd like me, you know
Praying for love in a lap dance and paying in naivety
Oh, isn't this exactly where you'd like me
I'm exactly where you'd like me, you know
Praying for love in a lap dance and paying in naivety

But, but I'm afraid that I
Well, I may have faked it
And I wouldn't be caught dead in this place

Well, I'm afraid that I
Well, that's right, well I may have faked it
And I wouldn't be caught dead in this place

And isn't this exactly where you'd like me
I'm exactly where you'd like me, you know
Praying for love in a lap dance and paying in naivety
Oh, isn't this exactly where you'd like me
I'm exactly where you'd like me, you know
Praying for love in a lap dance and paying in naivety

Praying for love and paying in naivety
Praying for love and paying in naivety, oh

Kurt finished the song, smiling at Blaine as the rest of the Warblers sat, jaw dropped, staring between the two, wondering what was going to happen next. Sebastian and Marc exchanged a worried glance and as Blaine ran out of the room, Nick stood. Kurt turned to him.

“Sit down. Now.” Kurt demanded.

He followed Blaine out of the room into the darkened corridor.

“Blaine! Come out baby let’s talk.” He said sarcastically. “Oh come on, you have to admit, it was a good song choice...” He said, walking further down the corridor.

He felt a hand grip his wrist and pull him into a nearby classroom; Blaine’s lips met his hungrily and then pulled away within an instant.

“I fucking hate you.” Blaine spat. “I can’t stand you.”

Kurt laughed and pressed their lips back together, sucking long and hard on Blaine’s bottom lip before pulling away.

“I really don’t give a shit Blaine.” Kurt said before he walked out of the room.

Blaine skipped Warbler rehearsals that day, too pissed off with Kurt to go back, but no one seemed to chase him about it – they’d all seen what happened.

Blaine usually escaped to the library at this time on a Monday, but instead he decided to go into the Warbler rehearsal room – which he knew to be empty – and sing for a little while. Thinking of an appropriate song, he began to lightly touch the keys and sing acoustically along with the tune.

Look inside your tiny mind

Now look a bit harder

Cause we’re so uninspired

So sick and tired of all the hatred you harbour

Fuck you

Fuck you very, very much

Cause we hate what you do

And we hate your whole crew

So please don’t stay in touch

Fuck you

Fuck you very, very much

Cause your words don’t translate

And it’s getting quite late

So please don’t stay in touch

Do you get,

Do you get a little kick out of being small minded?

You want to be like your father

Its approval you’re after

Well that’s not how you find it

Do you,

Do you really enjoy living a life that’s so hateful?

Cause there’s a hole where your soul should be

You’re losing control of it and it’s really distasteful

Fuck you

Fuck you very-

He was cut off by harsh cold laughter coming from behind him, by the doorway.

“Wow. Uh...nice song.”

Blaine turned around on the piano stool and saw Kurt stood with Sebastian and Marc in the doorway.

“Here’s me thinking you would’ve said this to my face after our little conversation earlier on.” Kurt said patronisingly, running a fingertip along Blaine’s arm when he reached him.

“Get off me.” Blaine snapped, pulling his arms away.

“Don’t be a brat. If you want to hit me, just do it.”

“What?”

“I can tell, I’m not an idiot. You’re angry with me. So hit me.”

Sebastian laughed and Marc elbowed him in the ribs, Kurt didn’t turn around, he stared deep into Blaine’s eyes.

“Come on Blaine. Hit me.” He whispered.

“No.” Blaine said firmly.

“You’ll feel better...just slap me.”

“No.”

“I told you Seb. I told you he wouldn’t.” Kurt said, turning to look at Sebastian and then back to Blaine. “He’s just a weak, cheap, used slut.” He spat.

Blaine slapped Kurt, anger and resentment pulsed through him, he hated Kurt. He hated everything he made him feel.

Kurt’s tongue visibly traced the inside of his reddening cheek where Blaine’s palm impacted.

“Good. Feel better?” Kurt asked. He didn’t wait for a response. He walked straight out the door, walking past Sebastian and Marc. They started to follow but he waved them off, so instead they went to Blaine.

“I’ve never seen him like this.” Sebastian admitted.

“Why did he do it?” Blaine asked gingerly.

“I’ve never seen him...care this much. You haven’t chased him Blaine. He’s never had this before.”

“I’ve also never met anyone as ignorant as him.” Blaine commented.

“He’s still my best friend; I’ll still beat you up if you hurt him.” Sebastian smiled. Blaine grinned back.

Blaine stared after the door, right where Kurt had walked out of moments before, cheek bruising at a rapid pace.

“You’re in love with him.” Marc said, sitting on the arm of the sofa.

“What?” Blaine turned dumbfounded.

“You are. I’ve seen it before. The way you act around him. You want him.” He said simply.

Blaine turned to Sebastian as if to hint for him to object, but Sebastian just smiled.

“I agree.” He said softly. “Sorry Blaine, but the sooner you realise it the sooner you can move on.”

Marc patted him on the shoulder and then they both headed for the door. “We’ll save you a seat at lunch, but I think you should probably go talk to him.” Sebastian said.

Blaine sighed once they had left, and slumped into a chair. His phone vibrated in his pocket, and he half-shimmied and half-wriggled to pull it out, seeing a familiar name on the screen. He smiled and answered it at once.

“Hey!”

Hey, you sexy bitch you said you’d call me!

“Sorry baby, I’ve been busy.”

So I heard! What’s it like in the big apple?

“Oh you know, preppy school boys.”

How many have you had already?”

“Santana...”

Oh sorry, I forgot, you’re changing okay. Sure. But I hope you know how uninteresting you are when you’re not fucking every guy in sight, or taking body shots off of random dudes at parties just begging you to suck their cocks.”

“Nice to know you miss me. I heard you spoke to Kurt.”

“You’re not mad are you? That boy loves you.”

“You don’t even know him Lopez.”

You fucked him didn’t you?” Blaine was silent. “You did! Anderson you little cock slut you’ve been there 3 months!”

You know I’m a bottom.” Blaine said after a long time.

Okay so he fucked you, does it really matter?”

“What’s new in Ohio anyway?”

Nu huh! No way Anderson. You’re not avoiding this. Look, me, Berry and Puckerman are coming to see you this weekend okay? Berry wants to look at the City and Puckerman said he’ll go with her so that gives me and you a little time to talk.”

“You’re coming to New York?!”

I told you, I miss seeing my favourite cock sucker every day. It’s just not the same without you here!”

“Need a ride from the airport?” He said, smiling softly.

Well I’m not walking. I’ll text you our flight details, I already spoke to James he knows we’re staying with you.”

“You spoke to my father?”

I’m practically family stop bitching at me.”

“See you Friday then baby.”

Love you, get some ass.”

“Love you.”

He clicked his phone off and sat still for a moment, contemplating everything that had just happened in the last 5 minutes. Slipping his phone back into his pocket, he decided to go talk to Kurt. He knew that if he didn’t and he went to lunch instead, Sebastian and Marc would just bitch at him until he did anyway.

He walked the long walk to Kurt’s dorm and knocked on the door twice before Kurt appeared, opening the door, clad in tight black jeans and...nothing else.

Blaine swallowed thickly. “Hi.”

“What do you want Anderson? I’m busy.” Kurt said hurriedly, looking back further into his room. Blaine couldn’t see inside from where he was standing, but he was almost 100% sure there was at least one other guy in there.

“I-Uh. Sebastian said I should come speak to you.” Blaine said quietly, he should have prepared at least some kind of conversation topic...or something. He looked like a complete twat.

“Okay well why don’t you run back to Sebastian and ask what he wanted you to talk about.” Kurt said sarcastically. A muffled voice came from within the room, but Blaine couldn’t hear what was said. Kurt laughed a little and then titled his head towards his bedroom. “Take them off.” He yelled back, before turning back to Blaine, his eyes dark and lust blown.

“S-Sorry, you-have I should-I should go.” Blaine stuttered as he turned to walk away. Kurt grabbed his arm and stepped out into the corridor, Blaine turned to face him their chests an inch apart. Kurt looked at him hard for a moment and then pressed his lips to Blaine’s.

“Meet me later?” He whispered against Blaine’s lips.

Blaine didn’t reply, Kurt pressed their lips together again and licked lightly on Blaine’s bottom lip before pulling away again. He sighed.

“Please?” Kurt asked.

“Okay.” Blaine confirmed, and then Kurt walked back into the room and shut his door.

End Notes: TBCPreview:"Wait...you, you two had-" Marc said, disbelieving."But Kurt said you hadn't." Sebastian added.Blaine sighed. "Yes. We did. Once. It meant nothing, it still means nothing."
