Author's Notes: So sorry for the late update. i've had so many deadlines for college work and shit but its all done now so im gonna be updating lots over the next week or two!

Everything was sort of...boring. Boring was definitely the wrong word but his brain wasn’t really working well enough to supply another so that one was okay for now. He couldn’t move, wasn’t even sure if he was breathing in all honesty. He tried to drag his eyes open but nothing happened, his fingertips weren’t reacting to what his brain tried to do, and it was the most frustrating feeling in the world.

Blaine wasn’t aware of day and night, he slipped in and out of being able to understand if he was waking up but he never did, he never entered the real world. He just drifted in this dream like state. There was a tense buzzing in his mind, but after a while it just blurred into his thoughts and he spent even more time trying to force some movement of his body, trying to might his eyes open or his fingertips to just move and he’d finally gain some control over his body again. Sometimes Blaine was certain Lucy was there. He couldn’t hear her, or see her, or touch or even smell her, but he just knew. It was different than when he knew Aaron was there, there was a different energy about him. Same with Kurt, and even Santana. They all had a different presence, but he knew they were there. He couldn’t figure out how close they were or if they were talking to him or not, but he knew they were there, and that was the only thing that kept him going.

After countless days, it could’ve been weeks or months, of Blaine being in that state, the buzzing in his head grew wilder, out of control as it refused to be kept back in his thoughts, and he suddenly couldn’t tell if anyone was with him, even the strongest presence of Aaron or Kurt. He fought hard; he fought to keep the buzzing back in his thoughts, to lock it behind anything his mind could create to keep it away from taking over the only part of him he believed was conscious. He could hear his heart beat for the first time in what felt like months, he could hear it overtaking his body until everything stopped. The buzzing and the constant thumping and aching of his heart all came to a sudden halt, and there was nothing.

Blaine’s eyes struggled open slowly, the searing white light of a torch way too close to his face made him slam them shut again, but the gentle fingers prying them back open won against his best efforts. After a moment the light shone in his other eye, and then the fingers were gone and his eyelids finally had success in slamming back shut. His eyelashes fluttered tenderly against his cheeks and his mind was telling him how peaceful it was as he tapped his little finger fondly against the bedding.

That’s when it hit him.

He forced his eyes back open again, pushing his head to the side where he last recalled there being any kind of presence near him, the kind of presence he couldn’t sense anymore. As his eyes flickered between blurry and a white light with dark blotches, he shakily licked his bottom lip with his tongue, which brushed against his cracked lips too dry. He forced his eyes to focus, and as they did, he caught sight of Kurt smiling fondly at him from the chair next to his bed.

“Hey you,” Kurt whispered shyly. When Blaine didn’t reply, Kurt’s small smile turned into a concerned frown. He looked up questioningly at the nurse stood at the end of the bed.

“His memory might be a bit hazy, if he doesn’t remember you all now then give him a while.” She noted some things down on her clipboard and then tucked it under her arm. “Don’t pressure him to remember anything. I’ll be back in a couple of hours to check on him.”

Blaine’s eyes followed her as she left the room, his gaze remaining hard on the door until a shuffling from his left alerted his eyes.

“Blaine?” Aaron tried tentatively.

“No” Blaine replied, his voice a whisper. He locked his eyes on Aaron’s and swallowed hard. “Y’never call me that...”

Aaron laughed a little too loud but he didn’t care. Blaine was awake.

“Sorry, gorgeous.”

Blaine’s eyes moved back around to Kurt, who looked solemn and out of hope.

“Hi,” Kurt started again, hoping Blaine wouldn’t ruin this moment, wouldn’t tell him he didn’t remember. It was natural for him to remember Aaron; they’d been friends for years, but Kurt? Kurt was newer, he was easily forgotten.

“Y-you.” Blaine replied, looking questioningly in his direction. The colour drained from Kurt’s face as the realisation hit him. Blaine didn’t remember him.

Blaine licked his lips and continued talking. “You’re here.”

“Of course I’m here,” Kurt replied automatically. He wasn’t sure if Blaine remembered him, or if he was just trying to act as if he knew what doctors and people were around him.

“Love you, Kurt.” Blaine mumbled, his eyes gliding shut again, but before his body drifted back into sleep, Kurt’s warm palms were pressed against his face and their lips were together. Blaine could feel Kurt’s damp cheeks against his, and as Kurt pulled away a moment later he slowly dragged his hand up to Kurt’s cheek.

“Don’t cry,” he said softly.

“You scared me,” Kurt whispered, pressing his forehead firmly against Blaine’s, making sure he was real, he was there. “I thought you weren’t gonna wake up...” He pressed their lips together again, hard and quick, before Blaine had a chance to reply. “And then I thought you were gonna forget me,”

“Can I get up?” Blaine asked as Kurt sat back in his chair. “My legs ache,” he wriggled them a little bit under the blankets but they were stiff and aching.

“I-I dunno,” Kurt stuttered, looking to Aaron for guidance.

Aaron just shrugged. “Dunno babe. I’ll go ask the doctor,”

Once the door was shut behind Aaron, Blaine turned back to Kurt with a smile and shuffled over a bit on his bed.

“Come lie with me...” Blaine asked, turning his head on the pillow to gaze where Kurt’s head would rest.

Kurt stood up nervously and climbed up, careful not to press down on any wires on his way, and making sure to stay clear of Blaine’s stomach wound. Once his head was on the pillow, Blaine moved nearer to him, curling into his side as Kurt’s arms wrapped automatically around him and his lips pressed softly into Blaine’s hair.

“How long was it?” Blaine asked a few minutes later, his head resting firmly on Kurt’s chest.

Kurt paused, licking his lips. “Too long”

He held Blaine closer to his chest, listening to the faint, steady beeping from the heart monitor which Blaine was still connected to.

Kurt held him until Blaine’s grasp on Kurt’s shirt loosened and he eventually slipped into a restful sleep. Kurt held him until the nurse and Aaron returned 25 minutes later after checking through all of Blaine’s paperwork. They unhooked Blaine from one machine, and then another, until it was just the boy lying in the bed alone, his body still cuddled around in the position which Kurt had left him in.

-

And he says ‘don’t you know I love you?

Don’t you know you’re beautiful?’

He says ‘everyday is special

You have made me believe’

Hold me in your arms ‘cause I’m falling

Hold me in your arms while we’re sleeping

Hold me in your arms

-

A week later and Blaine was finally allowed to go home. The doctors – and Aaron, and Kurt – had all insisted on him staying in hospital for a few extra days until everyone was 100% convinced that he was going to be okay to go home.

Blaine had walked straight into his bedroom, throwing himself face first into the mound of blankets, duvets and pillows laid across it.

He mumbled something, which Kurt couldn’t hear from the doorway through the masses of padding around Blaine’s head.

“What?” Kurt asked, placing his bag by the door before walking over and tugging Blaine’s shoes off.

Blaine turned his head to the side, the light shining into his eyes a bit too bright, so he bought his arm up to cover his head.

“I said.” He said punctuating each word, lifting his calf up to help Kurt with his second shoe. “Are we going to have sex or are you just gonna stand there”

Kurt laughed as Blaine’s shoe thudded on the floor, his boyfriend’s face smiling back at him as Kurt climbed to lay next to him.

“I’m not having sex with you, Blaine.” Kurt said finally, resting his head level with Blaine’s.

Blaine groaned, turning his head back into this pillow.

“I need you to have sex with me right now.” He mumbled loudly, Kurt rubbed his hand on Blaine’s back softly.

“No, baby.”

“Seriously.” Blaine complained. “This must be the first time you’ve ever said no to sex.”

“Take into account that the last time we had sex was almost 2 months ago...”

“So just fuck me,” Blaine reasoned, shuffling closer to his boyfriend.

“You’ve been in a coma.”

“Yeah, ages ago. I’m fine.” He paused. “Actually, I’m not fine. I’m fucking dying because I. Need. You. To. Fuck. Me.”

Kurt laughed and hooked his ankle over Blaine’s leg to pull him on top of his boyfriend. Kurt lowered his face to Blaine’s, their noses brushing together.

“You really are gagging for it, aren’t you?” he whispered, brushing his lips against Blaine’s.

Kurt’s body wasn’t against his boyfriends and Blaine needed more, so he thrust his hips up against Kurt’s, but Kurt caught on and moved to sit up just in time. He was sitting on Blaine’s knees, holding his hands sweetly.

Please

“No.” Kurt smiled, simply. Blaine pouted at him, and he leant down to kiss him gently before sitting back up straight again. “I don’t want to hurt you, baby.”

“You won’t hurt me.” Blaine scoffed.

“No. You’re right. I won’t.”

“Kurt, oh my god can you just please do something, anything.”

“I’ll cuddle you whilst you sleep. You need to rest.” Kurt agreed, climbing off of his boyfriend.

“You’re the worst person I’ve ever met.”

“I know.”

“I hope you feel bad.”

“Oh yeah, rejecting my boyfriend sex is clearly the biggest sin...”

“It is.”

“You need priorities, Blaine.”

Blaine cuddled into his boyfriend as Kurt pulled the covers over them both.

“I have priorities. It’s you.”
