Kurt couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching him. As soon as he left his room he was sure that something had just run round the corner. Shaking it off, it was a boarding school full of teenage boys after all; he carried on walking to the cafeteria.

Sitting at the far end of the room he started to feel eyes on him again. Looking up from his tray of food Kurt noticed three boys looking right at him. He immediately looked back down and continued eating. When he looked up again they were still looking at him. Kurt quickly collected all of his rubbish and made a beeline for the exit.

This was weird. The students at Dalton hadn't done anything. No name calling, no being shoved into things...nothing at all. Kurt put it all down to him still being under the radar. As soon as someone noticed him or took an interest things would go downhill, he was sure of it. Kurt travelled down the corridor keeping his head down and sticking close to the walls. He had come down this corridor so many times now that he could do it blindfolded. Kurt smiled as he saw the two large dark wooden doors. Inside had been his safe place for the past week. Just as he went to open the door he had the feeling he was being followed again. Shaking it off, he entered the library and quickly made his way to a small table. It was nice here. Large windows letting in enough light but not making it too overpowering and tall shelves that, if you didn't know your way around, acted like a maze.

Over the past week Kurt had either been doing catch up work at this table or slowly making his way through the old story books that Dalton had on offer. Story books held happy memories: ones of his mother reading to him at bed time, or sunny evenings sat outside on the porch swing being held and told wonderful stories about princesses in far-away lands, heroic princes wielding swords and mysterious worlds through looking glasses.

A small smile crossed his lips as he read the last sentence. "And they lived happily ever after." As a little boy his mother had never failed to tell him after ever story that he would find his 'Happy Ever After' just like she did.

Getting up from the table Kurt walked over to the shelf and slid the book back into its place. Looking through the shelf's titles he decided on 'Peter Pan', 'Rapunzel' and 'Thumbelina'. The teen didn't know why a boarding full of teenage boys had such a large supply of fairy tales but he was grateful nonetheless. He turned around and stopped. Three boys were at the end of the little hallway created by the books blocking his only exit. Eyes wide with panic, he walked backwards until his back hit the shelves. No way out. His grip on the books he was holding was becoming painful.

"Hi. Can we talk to you for a second?" The boy in the middle asked.

Kurt looked the three boys over carefully.

"My name is Wes." The boy said with a smile. He pointed to his left. "This is David," and then to his right, "And this is Blaine." As they were introduced, they smiled at him.

Kurt was starting to panic now. Like, really, panic. His breath started coming in short bursts. His hands shaking. Back pressed up against the shelves.

Wes, David and Blaine getting closer and closer.

Books falling out of his grasp Kurt dropped down to the floor, curling in on himself and whimpering. David rushed forwards and reached out to touch him. Kurt let out a shriek as he felt someone touch him.

Boys in letterman jackets cornering him in a classroom.

"What do we do?" Wes asked the others in hysterics.

"I don't know." David answered.

"Wes, go get someone. A teacher or the nurse." Blaine told him and joined David on the other side of the shaking boy on the floor.

"Got you cornered now Fag."

Kurt let out another whimper and started to shake his head, trying to rid the scene playing out before him.

"Going to have some fun. Teach you who runs this school because you seem to have forgotten."

Wes ran out of the library in a panic.

"Blaine what do we do?" David looked to the shorter boy.

"I don't know. Maybe try to talk to him?"

"We should get him to sit up though." Blaine nodded in agreement.

David tried to touch Kurt again but the pale boy shrieked and shot out of his grasp, scrambling to his feet and running.

He ran out of the library, down the corridor to his dorm room and locked the door.

Walking over to his bed he slid his shoes off and buried himself under the covers.

-------------------------------------

Kurt woke up to the sound of humming outside his door. Wrapping himself in his quilt he shuffled over to the door and noticed something being pushed underneath his door.

A folded piece of paper. Kurt sat down in front of the door and gingerly took the paper. Unfolding it he found two words written on the sheet.

'We're sorry.'

As he read the note the sound of a camera came from outside followed by some giggles.

Kurt looked at the bottom of the door again expectantly.

A small square appeared slowly making its way underneath the door.

Kurt picked it up. He was greeted with the smile of a blonde boy looking back at him. Turning the picture over in his hands he discovered writing on the back.

'I'm Jeff. Blame the others.'

Another giggle came from the other side of the door and a click of the camera.

Kurt found himself smiling at the boys' antics. They seemed nice.

A new picture slid underneath the door.

This time it was one of the boys who he had met in the library. Kurt turned it over.

'Hello. My name is Wes and I think you should join the Warblers.'

"What on Earth are the Warblers?" Kurt mumbled to himself putting the picture down next to the one of Jeff.

Looking back to the door there were already two more small pictures pushed under. One picture had a dark skinned boy smiling at him with the words, 'I'm David and I'm sorry if we scared you,' written onto it.

The other picture held a boy with a huge smile and dark hair hanging over his forehead, nearly going into his eyes. 'I'm Nick and I promise you I am not crazy like the others.'

Maybe these boys really were sorry. Nick and Jeff weren't even the ones who had scared him and they were trying to make him feel better.

Placing the picture next to the other ones Kurt looked back to the door and waited. He could still hear small giggles and shuffling from outside of his door which meant the boys were still there.

The giggling died down as another picture was pushed through.

This one held a boy with messy curls and a smile that looked like he was the one that had been giggling.

He turned it over to see what the boy had written.

'Hi, my name is Blaine and I'm really sorry we scared you.'

Kurt picked up all the pictures and laid them on his desk.

"Wes stop it!" Came from outside his door as a bright pink post-it note flew through the gap.

Kurt made his way over to the door and picked up the obnoxiously pink note.

'Do you like singing?' This boy was starting to remind Kurt of one Rachel Berry. Laughing quietly to himself, Kurt sat down again by the door. This obviously was not over yet.

Over the next half an hour several more notes appeared.

'We're having a movie night tonight in the common room. Want to join us?'

'We're really sorry about frightening you.'

'Are you asleep?'

'You in there?'

'Wes and David are gone. Just Blaine, Nick and I left.'

'And then there were one.'

'We're really sorry - Blaine'

Kurt got up from the door and walked over to his desk placing all the new notes next to the pictures. He picked up a pen and post-it note and quietly sat back down next to the door. Curling up in the quilt once more he wrote onto the note and pushed it through the gap.

-------------------------------------

Blaine waved to Nick and Jeff as they left down the corridor hand in hand. He smiled to himself. Whenever he saw Nick and Jeff together he couldn't help but smile. They were adorable together.

He sat back down and picked up one of the books the group had brought back with them after their run-in with the 'Ghost' as Jeff was still insisting on calling him. Blaine had figured that if they brought the books that the boy had dropped he might forgive them a bit easier. He looked at the cover seeing he had picked up 'Peter Pan'. Blaine had loved this story as a child. The idea of never growing up had always sounded great.

Something bumped Blaine on the leg. Looking down he saw a note.

'My name's Kurt.'

End Notes: I'm moving this from FF.net to here and I've noticed some things that I didn't notice before...
