Author's Notes: WARNING: You may cry when you read this. You may yell at me for making this happen to poor little Luca. But Luca is my punching bag. He's the baby. He's going to be small for his age and super clumsy. I SORRY BABY!!! *hugs him*One thing you must remember: I am not a doctor. I have no clue if food allergens can be transmitted through breast milk. However, this is fiction, so I can do that.

Blaine quickly checked Luca's throat, panic in his eyes. Luca's face had a slight blue tinge and the baby was gasping for breath, as though his throat were constricting.

"Kurt, call nine-one-one!" he yelled, rushing down the stairs with Luca. "I'm taking him to the hospital, have somebody come get Luna and Lizzy and meet me there!"

"What's going on?!" Kurt cried.

"He's having trouble breathing, call nine-one-one!" Blaine yelled, grabbing a blanket and swaddling the infant in it before rushing out the door, running down the sidewalk. People moved out of his way as he ran, hoping and praying Luca wouldn't stop breathing while he ran.

"Get out of my fucking way!" he yelled as he passed people, pushing through the crowds. Luca's frantic coughing, gasping, and wheezing helped keep him from panicking too much, if that little noise stopped he'd probably go crazy. He finally got to the hospital and rushed into the pediatric center, going to the nurse's desk.

"My son, he's having trouble breathing, he just started coughing and wheezing about fifteen minutes ago," he told the first nurse he saw.

"Here, give him to me," someone behind him said, and he turned to see a doctor. He handed Luca to him and he began to gently examine him as he gasped.

"His throat is swollen, it looks like an allergy attack," he said. "Is he allergic to anything?"

"I'm not sure, he's only four months old, he hasn't even started eating baby food and is still breast feeding, but I'm allergic to nuts, and his dad is allergic to bee stings," Blaine explained.

"Did you say dad? Aren't you his father?" the doctor asked.

"Yes, I am his father, but I had a male pregnancy and gave birth to him," Blaine said. The doctor nodded.

"Ok, anything else? Any other allergies?"

"His father's mom died of an allergy to shellfish, but his dad isn't allergic to it and I don't see how... wait, I ate lobster yesterday, and I'm nursing he and his twin sister, do you think that would have caused it?" Blaine asked.

"That very well could have caused it, I HAVE A CRITICAL INFANT!" the doctor called, and a group of nurses rushed over with a smaller version of a gurney with raised sides. He placed Luca down on the bed.

"We'll keep you updated on his condition, alright? What's your name?"

"Blaine Hummel-Anderson," Blaine answered. "And his name is Luca."

"Alright, Blaine, we'll update you on his condition. Possible shellfish allergy transmitted to him by breast milk, I need two CC's of..." he yelled to the nurses as they rushed to the NICU. Blaine walked into the waiting room and sat down, putting his head in his hands. He may have been the cause of Luca having the allergy attack! The thought was enough to make Blaine start crying silently.

"Oh god," he whispered. A half hour passed and a pair of slim arms wrapped around him.

"Hey, how is he?" Kurt murmured in his ear.

"I don't know, but the doctor thinks that I may have caused it, since I ate lobster yesterday and then nursed him," Blaine whimpered, burying his face in Kurt's neck. "Where's Luna and Liz?"

"Finn and Rachel have them," Kurt said softly. The two men were silent.

"Hummel-Anderson?" a nurse called. Blaine and Kurt stood up, eyes wide. She smiled at them. "They've gotten Luca stabilized and he's doing fine. He's had an allergy test done and we've found that he is indeed allergic to shellfish and bee stings. There are no stings on his body, so that means that the shellfish is what caused it. We're putting him on some medication as well, because we found that he has the beginnings of asthma. You may want to bring any other children you have in for allergy tests and asthma tests, to make sure they don't have them. And, Blaine, we're prescribing some medicine to help get rid of any remnants of the shellfish that are in your breast milk so you can keep nursing Luca and his twin sister. You can come and see him now, if you'd like," she said. Blaine and Kurt both sighed in relief.

"Yes, we'd like to see him," Kurt said, taking Blaine's hand.

"Alright, I'm going to warn you, though, he's on a breathing tube and has an IV, and there are quite a few wires for the heart monitor, so it may look worse than it actually is. I assure you, he's doing absolutely fine, though," she said. They walked up to the NICU and went in, and the nurse led them to a plastic crib that held their infant son.

"Oh," Kurt sobbed when he saw him. Luca had wires extending from his tiny body, an IV in his arm, a tube down his throat, and various machines beeping around him. He looked so tiny, frail, delicate.

"L-Luca," Blaine whispered, tears running down his face. "T-this is all my fault."

"No it's not, baby, you didn't know," Kurt murmured, taking him into his arms as he began to cry.

"I should have known, though! I gave birth to him, I'm supposed to know this kind of thing about him! I'm supposed to keep my baby safe, not hurt him!" Blaine sobbed into Kurt's chest, clinging to him, because he knew that if Kurt let go of him his knees would buckle and he'd fall to the floor in a sobbing heap. Kurt held him tight, kissing his forehead, as Blaine cried hard. Luca stirred a little at the sound of his father crying, and his big, brown eyes, which he'd gotten from Kurt's mother, opened. The nurse could see the panic in his eyes as he tried breathing on his own but couldn't and rushed over to carefully remove the breathing tube. As soon as the tube was out he began to cry. Blaine immediately moved to his side and carefully, avoiding the wires, picked him up in his arms.

"Shh, Luca, mamma's here, mamma's got you," he soothed the crying infant, who stopped crying and stared up at Blaine for a second before he brought his fist to his mouth and began sucking on it, tears still running down his face. Blaine gently wiped his tears away, murmuring soft words of comfort to him in Italian. Kurt and the nurse watched the exchange with small smiles. Luca nuzzled against Blaine's chest, making Blaine feel a little better. Luca was alright, that's all that mattered to him.

End Notes: I just had to make the ending a little bit fluffy to balance out how terrifying the beginning is. I WILL NOT KILL ANYONE OFF. I promise!!!
