"Uhm, Kurt, I think I'm going into labor," Blaine said, holding his stomach.
"What?! Now?!" Kurt asked, eyes wide. Blaine nodded. Kurt rushed into their room, grabbing his cell phone and the bag they'd had packed for the last month. He quickly dialed the phone number for Elizabeth's school.
"Hi, this is Kurt Hummel-Anderson, Elizabeth Hummel-Anderson's dad, I'm calling to let you know that Elizabeth's emergency contact, Finn Hudson, is going to come get her today, my husband is being taken to the hospital and we won't be able to get her, could you let her know? Thank you," he said calmly before calling Finn, wrapping an arm around Blaine and helping him up.
"Finn, you have to get Elizabeth today, Blaine just went into labor." Kurt pulled back as Finn started yelling. "Finn, Finn, calm down, we've done this before, remember? Just get Elizabeth at three today. Thanks, bro," he said. He helped Blaine into the car, already dialing another number.
"Hi, this is Kurt Hummel-Anderson, I'm calling for Dr. Sommer. Thanks," he paused for a second. "Hi, Dr. Sommer, this is Kurt, just calling to let you know that Blaine and I are on our way to the hospital, and that Blaine is in labor. Thanks, see you." He began driving. Thankfully, it wasn't rush hour, and the traffic wasn't too bad. They arrived at the hospital a half hour later and Blaine was quickly brought into a room and prepped. Kurt sat down beside him on the bed, wrapping his arms loosely around him, as Dr. Sommer examined him the first of many times that night, proclaiming that he was already dilated three centimeters. When he'd left, they stayed sitting on the bed. Kurt held Blaine as they waited, coaxing him to breathe through the contractions.
"K-Kurt, I think my water just broke," Blaine said a few hours later.
"Ok, baby, I'll go get the doctor," Kurt said, pecking him on the cheek before rushing to find the doctor. When he came back in, Dr. Sommer was behind him. He put on a glove and quickly examined Blaine.
"Ok, you're about six centimeters right now, so it's not much longer, ok, Blaine? Just hang in there," he said.
"See? Not too long now," Kurt murmured. Blaine nodded weakly, his head swimming from the pain. Kurt moved so he was beside him again, pulling him gently into his arms. "Want to try taking a warm shower, see if that helps?" he asked.
"Y-yeah," Blaine said. Kurt gently helped him out of the bed and into the bathroom, taking the hospital robe off of him and his own clothes off. Kurt turned the water on and they stepped into the shower, Kurt wrapping his arms around Blaine and pressing gentle kisses to his neck and shoulders, gently rubbing his huge stomach. They stood under the warm water for a few minutes.
"Kurt, I-I need to get back to the bed," Blaine said softly.
"Ok, love. Let's get dressed, ok?" Kurt murmured. He shut off the water and hurriedly dried them both off, quickly putting his clothes back on and helping Blaine put the robe back on. He then helped Blaine back into the room and into bed. Blaine relaxed into the pillows, his hand moving to gently rub his stomach as he breathed deeply to try and manage the pain. Suddenly, his eyes widened.
"Kurt, I need to push," he said.
"I'll be right back," Kurt said, hurrying to get the doctor. Blaine whimpered as the urge to push almost made him. Dr. Sommer examined him.
"Wow, four centimeters in less than half an hour, these twins really want to get here, don't they?" he said, smiling a little. He put Blaine's feet in the stirrups and Blaine bit his lip hard as the urge to push intensified. Kurt moved to sit behind him, taking his hand and wrapping the other around his waist. "Ok, next contraction, push hard, alright, Blaine?"
"I've been waiting to get to this since I got here!" Blaine snapped. Dr. Sommer shook his head.
"Alright then, push!" Blaine screamed as he pushed hard, the pain getting worse.
"One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, good, stop, Blaine!" Dr. Sommer said. Blaine slumped against Kurt, panting.
"Kurt," he groaned.
"I'm right here, baby, and I'm not going anywhere," Kurt said, allowing him to crush his hand.
"Push, Blaine," Dr. Sommer said, and Blaine immediately did as he was told, wanting to get this over with. "One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, stop!"
"God, Kurt, I hate you!" Blaine said, gripping Kurt's hand.
"I know, baby, you have every right to," he said. Blaine screamed out as he pushed again.
"One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten," Kurt counted in his ear.
"I fucking hate you! You did this to me, you fucking impregnated me!" Blaine cried out, crushing Kurt's hand in a death grip. Kurt brushed his hair off of his forehead with his free hand as he rested his head back on his shoulder, panting. The contractions got faster.
"Blaine, give me your hand," Dr. Sommer said. Blaine looked at him in confusion.
"What?"
"Just do it," the doctor said. Blaine moved his hand down and Dr. Sommer moved it so that it was between his legs.
"What the hell is that?" Blaine asked.
"That would be baby number one's head, he or she is crowning," Dr. Sommer said, smiling at Blaine.
"Oh, thank god, I thought that it'd never crown," Blaine said, sighing in relief. Kurt kissed his temple, gently rubbing his stomach.
"Don't push on the next contraction, Blaine, you need to save your energy for one last push," Dr. Sommer said. Blaine nodded shakily, he remembered this part. He crushed Kurt's hand to keep from pushing as this contraction hit him hard.
"You're doing so good, baby," Kurt said, feeling Blaine's abdomen relax again as the contraction ended. Blaine responded in a groan.
"No more kids," he said.
"Nope," Kurt agreed. "Three is enough." He chuckled as Blaine glared at him, then Blaine tensed before pushing hard again, crushing Kurt's hand.
"Keep going, Blaine, you're doing so good," Dr. Sommer said. "Stop!" Blaine exhaled sharply before slumping back against Kurt, panting. Dr. Sommer quickly cleaned up the first baby.
"It's a girl!" he said.
"Oh, Luna," Blaine whispered. Kurt grinned. "Shit, can't I get a break?!" Blaine whimpered as he had another contraction, immediately pushing again. Kurt held him, kissing his neck.
"Keep going, baby, let's get Luca now," he said softly. Blaine nodded.
"You're doing great, Blaine," one of the female nurses told him as she held Luna, who was crying softly by now. Kurt gently rubbed his stomach as he pushed again, fisting his hands in the blankets.
"Ah, fuck!" he cried out.
"I can already see the top of his head, Blaine, keep going!" Dr. Sommer said. Blaine screamed again as he pushed, sweat dripping from his brow.
"K-Kurt!" Blaine cried out.
"I'm here, baby," Kurt murmured, rubbing his stomach. "God, I'm so proud of you, Blaine."
"Blaine, don't push this time," Dr. Sommer said. Blaine nodded shakily, leaning against Kurt. Kurt squeezed his hand, and Blaine squeezed back, his back arching a little as he cried out from another contraction. His head fell back to rest on Kurt's shoulder. Kurt gently kissed his cheek, holding him.
"You're doing so well, Blaine, push!" Dr. Sommer said. Blaine did just that, harder than ever, and Kurt began to count in his ear. Blaine stopped when he felt Luca exit his body. Dr. Sommer immediately scooped him up and began cleaning him a little. Luca let out an annoyed cry, kicking his feet. Blaine looked at Kurt, his eyes filling with tears.
"You did it, baby, I'm so proud of you," Kurt told him, kissing him sweetly. Blaine kissed him back passionately, tears running down his face. When they broke apart, Kurt moved out from behind him and he laid down. Two nurses laid the twins on his chest.
"Oh," Blaine said, holding them. "Oh, oh my god." The twins didn't have as much hair as Elizabeth had when she was born, and they definitely didn't have curls. Luca's hair was also lighter, about the color of Kurt's hair.
"Kurt, Luca has your hair," Blaine said.
"Yeah," Kurt said softly.
"Finally, one of our kids has your hair," Blaine laughed. Kurt grinned.
