“Dad it’s your own fault for giving her sweets. They always make her hyper when she gets too much.” Kurt looks over to Blaine who is sat at the edge of the bridge. Kurt’s standing on the porch talking to his dad. “Look she clams down in like less than an hour, usually.” Kurt makes his way down the porch steps and heads over to Blaine. The sun is starting to fade quickly and the darkness starts to pour in. “Yeah I did, Dad. I told him. I’ll tell you all when I get home tomorrow. Okay. Tell her I said to calm down or I’ll get Blaine to give her a lot of homework. See you tomorrow, dad. Bye.”
When Kurt gets too Blaine he sits down beside him and kisses his cheek. Blaine looks down to Kurt’s hand and takes his hand in his own, tangling their fingers together. Blaine’s smiling, smiling like he just realized something.
“I really love being here with you. It feels like we’ve been here for forever and never at the same time.” Kurt had to agree, it really is a beautifully perfect weekend and he didn’t want it to end tomorrow. The weekend might end, but they wouldn’t.
“Kurt, there is something I have wanted to say but I wanted to make sure, even though I am pretty sure it’s truth. And this weekend has made me complete sure.” Blaine lets go of Kurt’s hand and pulls a piece of paper out of his pocket and starts to unfold it in his hands. “I get the kids to write down things when they are too scared to say it to someone.” The paper is fully unfolded but turned upside down. Blaine meets Kurt’s gaze and gives a nervous smile. “And it’s not that I am scared to tell you. I’m scared because I’ve only ever felt this once.” Blaine can feel himself about to back out, but he can’t because Kurt knows there’s something on this piece of paper and because it’s the truth. Blaine nervously turns the paper around and puts it on Kurt’s knee. Kurt looks down to the page and reads the words written in red crayon.
I love you, Kurt.
Blaine’s looking at Kurt to see his reaction. He can feel his heart getting even faster. What’s Kurt thinking right now? Blaine did it. And now he waits for Kurt’s reaction. Kurt turns his head to Blaine and smiles.
“You really do spend too much time with your kids.” Kurt chuckles shaking his head. He puts his hand up to his own mouth trying to cover his massive smile. “I think I kind of love you, too.” Kurt takes his hand away from his mouth.
“Kind of? What’s kind of?” Blaine asks. He’s trying to process what he has just said and Kurt saying it back. He thought he could never say those words to anyone ever again. He was afraid to ever say those words again to someone because if he did maybe that person would just get taking away from him. He couldn’t handle that. He was on the edge of breaking before and this would push him off, he would fall and could never get up again. But saying it to Kurt, sitting here with him and seeing his smile made him strong. The strongest he has felt in a really long time.
“Kind of is an, I love you to, expect it’s the Kurt Hummel way. So Blaine Anderson, I kind of love you.” And he did. He really loved Blaine. He couldn’t believe he could say those words after everything that happened in his past. The person that was supposed to love him just hurt him, emotional, physically, mentally, over and over again. The idea of loving someone new, letting someone in is as scary as hell. But than he was in hell wasn’t he? And now he guesses he’s halfway to heaven or he’s already there.
“I kind of love you and I kind of want to kiss you.” Blaine puts his hands on Kurt’s chest and pushes him down slowly onto the bridge.
“I kind of want you to do that.” They laughed at the kind of bit. Blaine puts his arms under Kurt’s shoulders, letting his fingers play with Kurt’s hair. Kurt wraps his arms around Blaine’s back and pulls him into him, their lips just an inch apart. They can feel each other’s heart beat and the breath against each other’s lips.
“You know no matter what happens, it’s going to be okay, Kurt.” Kurt’s lost in Blaine’s eyes, but he still hears every perfect word.
“It’s going to be okay.” Kurt whispers the words back to him. Blaine moves one of his hands from under Kurt’s shoulder and rests it on Kurt’s check, rubbing his thumb over Kurt’s cheek and leans the rest of the way in and kisses the guy he loves. When he thinks of that a smile appears on his face.
“Blaine…stop smiling…I can’t kiss you when you’re smiling.” Kurt chuckles. Blaine leans his forehead against Kurt’s and meets his gaze again.
“Okay, I’m sorry. I’m sorry.” Blaine leans down to Kurt’s lips and kisses him again. It’s only a few seconds before he’s smiling again that turns into laughter. He drops his head against Kurt’s neck.
“Your…Ridiculous.” Kurt said as he moves his head to the side and whispers it into Blaine’s ear. Kurt starts to laugh too. It really is a ridiculous perfect moment. Blaine kisses Kurt’s neck and moves his head up slightly to look at him. A drop of rain falls on them. Then another. Then a couple of drops at a time. They both look up to the sky, raindrops hitting their faces. When they look back to each other, they both know what each other is thinking.
“It always makes you think of him, doesn’t it? Rain.” Kurt brings his hand up to Blaine’s face, wiping away the raindrops of his face. Blaine gives a little smile and nod. It doesn’t remind him of the accident. It reminds him of Sebastian because he hated the rain the most and a time never went by when it was raining that he said the exact same words.
“He used to say when it rained, while you’re at your job weather, rain on all the pricks in the world.”
“I like that.” They chuckled for a few seconds and Kurt thought it might make Blaine a little sad, but it didn’t, it just made him smile and that makes Kurt smile.

They had come in after the rain had started to pour down onto them. Now they are sat on the ground against the couch, the fire lit, and eating the noodles Blaine had made. Their clothes had gotten a little wet but neither was bothered to change so they decided to just light the fire and dry of there. They were nearly dry, expect for their hair. The little bit of gel Blaine had in his hair had been washed out and some curls were free.
“We hardly did anything this weekend, but I enjoyed it. I still am enjoying it.” Kurt said smiling as he took another forkful of noodles out of his bowl and into his mouth.
“That’s not true. We walked into town, made food, kissed, lit fires, made breakfast and I made us noodles. Oh and we said something like I love you.” Blaine grinned at Kurt. He moved to put his empty bowl on the table a few feet away from them.
“Alright, Sherlock. You made your point.”
“Which one? There is two and believe me you better have meant Benedict Cumberbatch.” Blaine looks serious and it just makes Kurt laugh.
“Okay, yes that one. Someone was a bit of a Sherlock fan.”
“Ah, hell yeah. Who wasn’t?” Kurt points at himself earing himself a shocked face from Blaine. “What? I could just never get into it. It was the same with Doctor Who and Supernatural. Like I know they were good it just wasn’t my thing. You watched them too didn’t you?” Blaine nods his head quickly with wide eyes. “Please, don’t, don’t make me watch them. I was young when I tried to watch them, yes, but I still can’t get into them.”
“Yeah I thought I would never get into them, but Sebastian made me watch them so much that I got into them eventually. This is the best part; you know Castiel and Dean from Supernatural?”
“The Angel and Hunter who were so in love. Did they ever get together?”
“I’m not telling you. If you want to know you have to watch it. But one Halloween Sebastian wanted us to dress up as Cas and Dean.” Kurt had an aw face on him. He remembered watching a few episode of the show and he had to say he did like Castiel and Dean. He always thought they would be cute together. “I didn’t want too, but of course in the end we ended up going as them.”

“I look stupid. I actually look…the things I do for you. Do we have to go tonight? It’s just a stupid party.” Blaine pouted as Sebastian put make-up on Blaine’s face, giving him a cut on the side of his check. It was their first year at college and Sebastian said they better go seeing as it was for the first years and to spend the night with their new friends.
“Stop pouting, okay? It will fun. We don’t have to stay long. Blaine, stop, I am trying to do your make-up.” Sebastian holds Blaine’s head steadier. Blaine stops moving until he’s finished. “Okay grumpy, am done.” Sebastian chuckles and turns to the mirror to put a scar on his neck. He was going as Dean and Blaine is going as Cas. They decided who would be who by their hair colour. Sebastian had straightened Blaine’s hair and then put some product into it to make it look messy but to stop it curly again and it worked. Blaine hadn’t put on the coat and suit jacket yet. He just had just the shirt and tie on and decided to put on black jeans instead of suit trousers. Sebastian had the old torn jeans, a plain black t-shirt with a plaid shirt over it and Dean’s necklace. Blaine picked up one of the toy guy’s they were bringing with them and pointed it to Sebastian who was looking at him in the mirror.
“Cas, stop playing with the gun.” Sebastian said in an impression of Dean. That made Blaine smile.
“But Dean, it’s fake, I don’t think it will be much use to shot you with.” Blaine does his impression of Castiel.
“Cas we discussed this. You don’t go around killing people with guns unless there the bad guy. And you certainly don’t aim it at your boyfriend.”
Blaine chuckles and heads out of their bedroom and into the living room.
When Sebastian comes into the living room ten minutes later he sees Blaine lying on the couch and watching Supernatural.
“You ready to go then? Just don’t get drunk, okay?” Blaine said. He waits for Sebastian’s reply. He gets no answer. But he hears footsteps going into the kitchen and cupboards opening and closing. Blaine gets up from the couch and wanders in after Sebastian. Sebastian had changed out of his jeans and into his tracksuits bottoms and no shoes on his feet. “Why did you change?” Blaine’s leaning against the kitchen wall and looking at Sebastian who turns around to him.
“I realized that I would rather stay in, watch Supernatural and eat lots of sweets with you. And answer the door if any kids come trick or treating. I don’t care what we do as long as you are there with me. So I am going to stay right here with my grumpy boyfriend because I love him to bits.” Tears are forming in Blaine’s eyes. He can’t help it. He’s just tired from doing college work and all he wanted was to stay in with Sebastian.
“That’s all I wanted, tonight.” Sebastian holds him in his arms. He didn’t want Blaine to cry. He knows he should of realised that he didn’t even want to, that he was just going because their friends might say something if they didn’t, but he just couldn’t care less. They don’t understand that he and Blaine are happy just the way they are. They don’t need parties, drink, or anything like that to enjoy themselves. This was fun to Blaine and Sebastian with having nights like this. They were the most memorable and most special.
Sebastian kissed the side of Blaine’s head, then his cheek, and then his lips. When he pulled away he wiped the tears from Blaine’s face.
“Don’t break my heart with your crying you. I’ll get the sweets, you go get changed, but leave that shirt and tie on because we aren’t done being Cas and Dean, and then you and me are going to go curl up on the couch and watch Supernatural in the dark. And if any demons, ghosts, anything comes, I’ll protect you.”
“You always do.”

“Promise me Blaine that you won’t ever stop telling me these stories about you two. Never feel like I don’t want to hear about them because I do. They are really sweet and if I am not mistaking it makes you happy to talk about them and it makes me happy hearing about them.” It did make Blaine feel better and happier to tell Kurt these stories about them. He is so grateful that Kurt actually wants to hear them.
“Thank you, Kurt. That really does mean the world to me. You mean the world to me.” Blaine leans over and kisses Kurt on the lips. He doesn’t laugh this time; he just needs to feel Kurt’s lips against him. Sebastian would always be the love of his life, but Kurt, well Kurt is the new love in his life for now and for the future.
Blaine and Sebastian had talked about if one of them ever died to keep going and to find something in this world that would make them happy again because the worst thing about leaving the other behind is not knowing how they are and they promised each other they would be okay because they were lucky, they were lucky they made each other this happy and no one could take all the time they had together away from them. Blaine remembers Sebastian’s words that get him up every morning.
Live like there is no other life. So get up, smile and find happiness in every day.
