“What the fu-” Blaine gasped when Kurt, Santana, and Candie walked into the classroom, Candie sporting a nasty shiner.
“I thought you said you didn’t abuse her!” Blaine harshly whispered causing the kids already there to turn and look at them.
“We don’t! What the hell did you say to him?” Kurt yelled turning to face Santana.
“Calm yo tits, lady lips. I didn’t say anything to him.” Santana said waving off Kurt. “And look hobbit, we didn’t do this. And I know this is the most cliché domestic abuse excuse ever, but I’m telling you the truth, she fell.” Santana explained with a huff.
“Fell? Her whole face is purple and swollen.” Blaine explained kneeling next to her and examining the damage.
“Mommy! You said it wasn’t that noticeable! I wanna go home, everyone’s going to make fun of me.” Candie frowned.
“Oh sweet pea, come here.” Kurt said kneeling next to Blaine and pulling his daughter into a hug. “No one’s going to make fun of you. Remember no one pushes the Hummel’s around. And Blaine, you know me, I would never hurt my daughter. I told you about my past and family history, I would never treat my kid the way my father treated me. It was all an accident, just let us explain.” Kurt said brushing one of Candie’s tears away with the pad of his thumb.
“I know you wouldn’t Kurt. I’m sorry. It’s just as a teacher I’m supposed to report these types of things.” Blaine frowned.
“I know, I know. Just let me tell you what happened. You’ve spent the night with us before, you know our living arrangements. Or lack thereof. We were all asleep and Santana hollered for Candie to wake up. You know where I sleep, and you remember the morning Candie stepped on you. Well she came running out of her room and tripped over me. It was a complete mishap and she fell, her face colliding with the door handle on the bathroom door. She’s okay, no real damage, just a little bruising. She’s gonna be fine. Just don’t make this into a big deal, we don’t need child services coming in and taking our baby. Not after we’ve worked so hard.” Kurt said tears forming in his dazzling blue eyes.
“Wow, I can actually see that happening.” Blaine chuckled. “Ouch that must have really hurt. Candie are you okay sweetheart?” Blaine asked no longer feeling like a protecting teacher, but now a concerned parent.
It was weird having parental urges, almost foreign to him. Sure he planned on adopting kids someday when he was older and married. But feeling so connected to this small child was strange. She had come into his life so suddenly and already she was a major priority. As a matter of fact, he didn’t just feel this way for Candie and Kurt. He felt this way for the entire family. The kindness they’d shown to him, their wholehearted acceptance of him. It was no wonder he felt at home with this group. Sure things could be dysfunctional, but like he said, he was in for the long haul.
“Yeah, I’m fine. I think daddy was more scared than I was.” Candie giggled.
“That’s because you’re brave.” Kurt said the same exact time Santana said, “That’s because Kurt’s a girl.”
Everyone laughed and shared a look of understanding.
“I’m not going to file a report, but just try and keep this little girl safe. Okay?” Blaine said tousling Candie’s dark hair.
“Oh trust me, we will.” Kurt said hugging his boyfriend tightly, Candie wrapping her arms around their legs.
“Well isn’t that fucking adorable.” Santana laughed before Kurt pulled her into the group hug.
“I love you guys.” Candie smiled.
“And we love you.” Kurt said bending down and picking her up, sitting her on his hip as they all back out of the hug.
“As a thank you for not ratting on us to the school board would you like to come over? I’ll-” Kurt started asking but Santana cut him off.
“For the love of god Porcelain, have some decency. Even I would use sex as a way of paying someone off.” Santana said giving him a dirty look.
“Satan! I was going to say I’ll cook him dinner!” Kurt said blushing a fierce red as Blaine stifled a laugh.
“If that’s what you kids are calling it these days.” Santana said elbowing Kurt in a playful manner.
“Tana, just get out of my classroom before you corrupt more innocent children. Kurt I love you babe, and I’d love to come over for dinner. How about when school lets out I take Candie here, and come get you from work?” Blaine asked slapping Kurt’s ass as he bent over to put Candie down.
“Sounds like a plan.” Kurt smiled brightly. “Candie, be a good girl for Blainers here okay?” Kurt said kissing Candie’s forehead.
“Shit I’mma be late for my shift. Bye Candie!” She said kissing her daughter. “Bye Blainey boo!” she smiled with a wave. “Bye Kurtsie.” She said kissing his cheek and licking his face playfully when he pushed her away.
“You’re gross, go to work.” Kurt laughed.
“Bye lady lips.” She said with a smirk sauntering out of the classroom.
“I should probably get going as well.” Kurt said trying not to laugh at the sad puppy like frown clear on Blaine’s face as he said this. “Bye Candie, have a nice day. I’ll see you later.” Kurt said kissing her forehead and shooing her over to the rest of the kids playing games so he could say his goodbyes to Blaine.
“I’m going to miss you.” Kurt said stepping closer to Blaine until their bodies were pressed together as he straightened Blaine’s adorable bowtie.
“I’m going to miss you more.” Blaine frowned.
“Well I’m going to miss you most.” Kurt teased playfully using his thumbs to push the corners of Blaine’s mouth up into a smile.
“You are too adorable. But I’m going to be late for work. Some of us actually have to go serve things and stuff rather than rolling out of bed, putting on a silly bowtie and singing Disney songs with little kids.” Kurt teased wrapping his arms around Blaine’s neck.
“Babe, you love my silly bowties.” Blaine smiled.
“I know.” Kurt laughed before smashing their lips together tasting the coffee on Blaine’s breath and feel the shorter man smiling against his lips.
“I love you honey, have a nice day at work. Text me the address and I’ll be there as soon as I can.” Blaine smiled giving Kurt one last peck.
“Sounds delightful. I cannot wait to see you.” Kurt said with a wink, moving in and locking their lips together in a passionate embrace. Giving Blaine a knowing taste of what he’s in for later tonight.
“Mmmm, I don’t want you to go.” Blaine said breathing heavily against Kurt’s lips.
“I know, but I’ll see you soon enough and I’ll be all yours.” Kurt said seductively before backing out of the room.
Blaine knew this was going to be one long day.
