Author's Notes: Hi everyone, so I'm back. (kinda) Well I still won't be updating as frequently as I used to but I sill plan on adding a few chapters each week. I haven't updated my other story yet, so if you read that one I guess you can be expecting it sometime later today. I have a lot going on right now so that's why I'm slow with updating. But I'd like to thank everyone who is still reading this for being patient with me.

“What the hell? You’re gay?” Jenny yelled and Finn was practically rolling on the floor unable to contain his laughter.

“Bitch please, Kurt’s as gay as the fourth of July.” Santana remarked eloquently.

“I didn’t know you were gay! I thought we had a chance!” Jenny exclaimed loudly in Kurt’s face as he clung to Blaine’s embrace for dear life.

“A chance?” Rachel laughed.

“Kurt’s a dolphin in case you haven’t noticed.” Brittany added thoughtfully.

“A what?” Jenny asked.

“Auntie Brit says daddy’s a dolphin.” Candie smiled.

“What? I don’t even care! You tricked me! I thought you may be into me!” Jenny spit back and Kurt had to silence his laughter.

“I never gave you the impression that I was into you. I am one hundred percent gay.” Kurt explained.

“Plus he’s dating Mr. Anderson.” Candie smiled at a now blushing Blaine.

“You two are dating?” She laughed in disbelief.

“Yes.” The both said in unison before looking at each other. “We’re dating?” Kurt asked.

“I’d like to be dating.” Blaine smiled.

“Me too.” Kurt replied.

“So, do you wanna be my boyfriend?” Blaine asked rubbing the back of his neck with his hand.

“I’d love to.” Kurt smiled and Blaine pulled him into a kiss.

“Fags.” Jenny spit grabbing Conner’s hand and pulling him out the door.

“Bye Conner! See you tomorrow!” Candie smiled and everyone laughed awkwardly.

“I’m glad you could join us for dinner Blaine.” Finn said breaking the silence after the door slammed shut.

“Me too.” Blaine smiled. “But do I want to even know what that was about?” Blaine laughed.

“Not at all.” Kurt laughed.

“Daddy what’s a fag?” Candie asked and the room went silent.

“It’s a very bad word.” Kurt said sadly.

“A bad word?” She asked. “What does it mean and why did Conner’s mommy use it?” She asked confused.

“Well, you see, not everybody is very nice. Some people are really mean. You know how Uncle Finn and Auntie Rachel are in love? Rachel is a girl and Finn is a boy. Girls like boys. But sometimes a girl can like another girl.” Kurt started slowly.

“Like mommy and Aunt Brit?” She asked

“Yes, exactly like that. And sometimes a boy can like another boy. Like I like Mr. Anderson.” He explained and Blaine smiled. “Love is love. It doesn’t matter if you like boys or girls sweetheart. We will always accept you.” He said softly. “But, you see, not all people are accepting. Some people are very mean. And Conner’s mom used a very mean and hurtful word because she’s not accepting of boys liking other boys.” Kurt explained.

“She doesn’t think you and Mr. Anderson make a cute couple? I think you guys are perfect for each other! You guys should fall in love and get married and live happily ever after together! He can come live with us and be part of the family! Why wouldn’t she think that’s a good idea?” Candie talked a million words a minute.

“I think your daddy and I would make a cute couple too, but not everyone thinks that way. I don’t know why, Candie. I wish everyone was as nice as your family, but some people are just plain mean.” Blaine cut in trying to explain things when he saw how much this whole situation had affected Kurt.

“Well those people are just dumb if they can’t see how perfect you two are for each other.” She said putting her hands on her hips like a diva.

“Always remember that it is a very hurtful word and that you shouldn’t use it. And you should know that if anyone is every mean to you, you should come talk to me or mommy or someone. Don’t let people be mean to you Candie, no one pushes the Hummel’s around.” Kurt said hugging his daughter.

“Candie, sweetheart, Aunt Brit’s going to give you a bath and get you ready for bed. Daddy and I are going to talk but we’ll come say goodnight when we’re done.” Santana said kissing Candie’s forehead and sending her on her way.

After Candie and Brittany left the room Finn and Rachel started cleaning up the mess from dinner and disappeared into their own room so it was only Santana, Kurt, and Blaine left in the living room.

“What did you want to talk about San?” Kurt asked sitting down next to Blaine on the sofa.

“I just-I just realized that our baby girl is going to have to go through so much shit because of us.” Santana said pacing the floor.

“If being poor didn’t fuck her up enough, both of her parents are gay. She’ll be made fun of in school just as bad as we were. And it’s not even her fault. She didn’t choose to live this life. I love her and I love the life we have with her. But sometimes I just think maybe if we’d given her up like Quinn did Beth, she could’ve had such a better life. I’m just so sorry. Typically I’m a real bitch, but I just realized my kids going to have an awful life and it’s all our fault.” Santana said crying.

“Shhh, it’s okay.” Kurt said standing up and wrapping his arms around her slim waist. “It’s okay San, don’t cry.” He spoke softly as she buried her face in his chest.

“It’s not our fault. It’s the worlds fault. We live in a world full of discrimination and hate. Candie is full of light and goodness. Yes, there are always going to be people who will try and tear her down for being different. But we raised her better than that. She won’t let them hurt her, she’s so strong. She’s a fighter, just like her mother. If anyone every tries to hurt her she’ll go all Lima Heights Adjacent on their asses. Yes people can be very mean, but it’s not our fault, and it’s not hers, it’s theirs. We can try and protect her as much as we want but there will always be mean people. Yeah I feel guilty for fucking up her life, but it’s not our fault San. We’re doing the best we can. And we love her. That’s all that matters.” Kurt said holding a crying Santana.

“Kurt’s right, Santana. People can be mean, but there’s nothing either of you can do about it. You both love your daughter, that’s all that matters.” Blaine added.

“I know, I just wish she didn’t have to live this way. It’s just so hard sometimes.” Santana cried.

“Hey,look at me.” Kurt said lifting her chin so she would look him in the eyes.

“We’ll get through this. Together.” He said a tear rolling down his cheek. “Together.”
