“Spies!” Rachel yelled as Sam and Kurt walked past the living room on their way to the kitchen. Kurt looked nervous but Sam didn’t let go of his hand, either Sam really liked Kurt and didn’t care about being outed or he was just really bad at the whole in the closet thing.
“Why would we spy on you guys? And it’s not even like it’s a secret. You guys are trying to recruit new members not form a secret society or some shit.” Sam answered, the two of them walking into the room. He greeted Puck and Mike, along with Santana and Mercedes, but keeping his hand interlocked with Kurt’s.
Kurt waved slightly but smiled when he saw me. In that moment I felt so special. Kurt’s been going to school with these people for three years, yet his whole mood changed when he saw me.
“Just go back down stairs or something, we don’t need you interrupting.” Rachel said trying to be diplomatic.
“Sam was hungry, plus I promised Blaine we’d come join you guys.” Kurt said and I blushed.
“Sam’s always hungry, and you’re not welcome here. Glee kids only.” Rachel said proud of her argument.
“Well than I guess I’m joining Glee club.” Kurt said dismissively.
“What! No! You can’t! I mean you can’t even sing!” Rachel yelled and Kurt laughed.
“Bitch please. I can sing way better than you, that’s for sure. You and your tone deaf loud ass self.” Kurt said in his best ghetto fabulous voice.
“You can sing?” I asked intrigued and he smiled.
“Sammy sweetheart you wanna sing a song with me?” Kurt asked and Sam nodded eagerly.
“Hmm what should we sing?” Kurt asked.
“Can we do the new One Direction song?” Sam asked happily.
“Gay.” Kurt deadpanned. “Pick again.”
“You’re just too scared to sing because you know you can’t.” Rachel laughed.
“Gimme you’re iPod Berry.” Kurt said and she started up the song.
“Your hand fits in mine like it’s made just for me. But bear this mind it was meant to be.” Sam sang to Kurt squeezing his hand in his. “And I’m joining up the dots with the freckles on your cheeks. And it all makes sense to me.” Sam sang tracing patterns on Kurt’s lightly freckled cheeks.
“I know you’ve never loved the crinkled by your eyes when you smile,” Kurt took over singing earing a large grin from Sam. “You’ve never loved your stomach or your thighs, the dimples in your back at the bottom of your spine.” Kurt sang pulling Sam closer by his shirt and feeling up his abs.
“But I’ll love them endlessly.” They both sang together.
“I won’t let this little things slip out of my mouth, but if I do, it’s you. Oh it’s you, they add up to. I’m in love with you and all these little things.” Kurt and Sam sang together smiling brightly.
“You can’t go to bed without a cup of tea, maybe that’s the reason that you talk in your sleep. And all those conversations are the secrets that I keep. Though it makes no sense to me.” Kurt sang and Sam smiled.
“I know you’ve never loved the sound of your voice on tape, you never want to know how much you weigh. You still have to squeeze into your jeans. But you’re perfect to me. I won’t let these little things slips out of my mouth, but if it’s true, it’s you. It’s you, they add up to. I’m in love with you and all these little things.” Sam sang to Kurt making him blush and wrap his arms around his waist.
“You never love yourself half as much as I love you. You’ll never treat yourself right darling, but I want you to. If I let you know, I’m here for you, maybe you’ll love yourself like I love you oh.” Sam continued singing and I could’ve sworn Kurt had started to cry.
“I’ve just let these little things slip out of my mouth, ‘cause it’s you, oh it’s you. It’s you they add up to, and I’m in love with you and all these little lings.” Sam sang directly to Kurt and Kurt controlled his emotions.
“And I won’t let these little things slip out of my mouth, but if it’s true, it’s you. It’s you they add up to. I’m in love with you, and all your little things.” They both sang together closing the song.
“Close your mouth Berry, you’ll catch flies.” Kurt said with a laugh grabbing Sam’s hand and walking off to the kitchen.
Everyone was silent for a few minutes before Puck interrupted and said what everyone was thinking.
“We have to let them in.”
“Noah! We can’t let them in!” Rachel snapped.
“Rach, they were really really good. We need star quality. We need Kurt, Sam, and Quinn. If we get all of them we won’t even have to add anyone else we’ll have all twelve members.” Finn said placing a hand on his girlfriend’s shoulder.
“I don’t like the skanks.” She said as if that would make her decision final.
“Yeah well a majority of the time none of us like you.” Santana quipped and everyone but Rachel laughed.
“Come on Rachel, they were really good.” I added with a smile.
“Fine, but if this comes to bite us in the ass I’m blaming all of you guys.” Rachel pouted and everyone cheered.
“Blaine, why don’t you go tell them the good news. That we as philanthropists have decided to include them.” Rachel said snobbishly and I shrugged.
“I meant every word of that song.” I heard Sam say to Kurt and stood just outside the threshold to the kitchen to where I could see and hear them but they couldn’t see me.
“Shhhh, no you didn’t.” Kurt said softly opening the fridge and grabbing a bottle of water and some lunchmeat and condiments.
“Stop Kurt, you’re beautiful, perfect, everything, and I just wish you could see that.” Sam said and wiggled his way between where Kurt was making a sandwich on the kitchen counter, blocking him completely and standing between his legs.
“Quit messing around, you’re gonna ruin the sandwich I’m making you.” Kurt said and put a dab of mustard on Sam’s nose. And laughed when Sam tried, and failed to get the mustard off with his nose.
Kurt kissed Sam’s lips and licked the mustard off for him, tactfully pushing him out of the way to finish what he was doing.
“Why are you making me a sandwich?” Sam asked.
“Because you said you were hungry.” Kurt laughed handing him the plate and putting things back in the fridge before wiping off the kitchen counter.
“That’s not what I meant.” Sam frowned.
“Then what’d you mean?” Kurt asked playfully.
“Why aren’t you fixing something for yourself, you haven’t eaten in two days Kurt.” Sam frowned and I practically choked on air, why hadn’t Kurt eaten anything?
“I ate yesterday. We had a romantic dinner together, remember?” Kurt explained.
“You made yourself throw up after, it doesn’t count.” Sam chastised him and I couldn’t believe my ears.
“I’m just going on a little diet, Sam.” Kurt said snappily.
“No, you’re starving yourself. You’re just trying to torture yourself because you think you’re not good enough. Well newsflash, you are.” Sam said kissing his lips and offering him a bite of the sandwich which Kurt declined.
Sam grabbed Kurt by the wrist and turned him around so his back was against the counter.
“Take it off.” Sam said and Kurt laughed.
“Oh Samuel, here in the kitchen? You wanna defile me while others remain in earshot? I didn’t know you had such a performance kink.” Kurt laughed and Sam frowned.
“You know what I mean, take your shirt off.” Sam said and assisted Kurt in lifting the shirt above his head.
His rib cage jut out sharply and his sunken in and emaciated waist was plagued with scars old and new. Fresh ones dripping blood, jagged words carved into flesh, along with countless burns and bruises.
“Oh my god.” I couldn’t help but gasp out loud and Kurt looked up and saw me standing there. He pulled his shirt down quickly and ran out of the room faster than I thought someone could move.
“Kurt come back!” Sam yelled and chased him out the front door.
“Shit.”
