“I love you” Blaine said as he held Kurt close kissing him softly.
It was the second to last night of camp and to Blaine it’d be the last time he and Kurt would be together.
“I love you too.” Kurt replied hugging Blaine tighter to his chest.
The two boys were alone in the boathouse where they had first made love and many times since during the duration of camp. It was almost there safe haven. There they could be together, there they could be themselves.
Kurt kissed Blaine deeply as they laid there on the ground.
They had just made love to each other for presumably there last time.
“I’ll never ever forget you Kurt.” Blaine said softly resting his head in the crook of Kurt’s neck.
“I’ll never say goodbye to you.” Kurt smiled softly a tear rolling down his cheek.
“But that’s the thing, we have to say goodbye.” Blaine said looking into Kurt’s crystal eyes.
“This wasn’t just some summer fling to me, I love you Blaine.” Kurt cried softly.
“And I love you too, but we have to end this. Camp is over in two days and we’ll both go back to the real world and back to our lives.” Blaine explained.
“We only live an hour apart. I don’t see why we can’t make it work.” Kurt said kissing Blaine tenderly.
“Because outside of this camp, outside of this little old boathouse, I’m not gay. No one can know, Kurt. That’s why we have to end it. No one can ever know of the summer we spent together. In fact maybe it’s just best if we forget about each other.” Blaine cried.
“I don’t want to forget you.” Kurt said softly.
“Maybe it’s for the best.” Blaine cried. “We’re done Kurt, we’ll go back home and it’ll be as if nothing ever happened.” Blaine said sadly.
“That’s all I am to you. Nothing. I should have known this would never work out, I’m nothing. And I’m certainly not worth remembering. How could I have been so stupid? I fell so hard for you Blaine, and to you I’m nobody. Like what we shared this summer means absolutely nothing. I’m sorry I’m not good enough for you to even remember. Don’t worry you won't have to deal with me outside of camp. I’ll be out of your life for good the second camp ends and we all go home bright and early Saturday morning.” Kurt cried moving away from Blaine and getting dressed.
“Kurt I didn’t mean it like that. You are worth remembering, it’s just I think it’d be better if we forgot.” Blaine cried.
Kurt looked away and both boys got dressed in silence.
Kurt was about to leave, to walk right out of Blaine’s life. But Blaine stopped him, “Can I at least have a goodbye kiss?” He asked with his puppy dog eyes.
Kurt laughed, “of course.” He said softly before turning and kissing the boy with all the passion he had. Expressing his emotions with his tongue. Getting one last taste of the boy he loved. His first love. A tear rolled down his cheek as he thought of this.
“Goodbye Blaine.” He cried breaking the kiss softly.
“Goodbye Kurt.” Blaine said sadly looking away.
They walked back to their cabin in silence.
Neither boy spoke to the other for the rest of the evening.
They went to bed early knowing they had a long day ahead of them. Tomorrow was Friday, the last day of camp. In the morning they’d have their final weigh in, they’d have their last team meeting that afternoon, then the talent show, that evening their group decided they’d have a final bon fire, and then Saturday morning they’d pack it up and leave.
And both boys would never see each other again.
Kurt pushed the thought out of his head and closed his eyes to fall asleep.
His heart broken.
