Blaine woke up alone, scared, and in a hospital bed.
His vision was blurry and his memory hazy.
Why was he in a hospital bed?
Why did his side hurt?
Oh that’s strange, why did he was stitches?
He was brought out of his thoughts when he heard a soft noise coming from across the room.
Kurt.
That’s right, he was waking up from surgery that’s why he was in a hospital bed, and everything was blurry because the anesthesia was wearing off, and the stitches were from the operation. Okay things were now making sense.
He felt the stitching on his side and wondered if it would leave a scar. That would be cool. He always wanted a scar. Scars were cool. Harry Potter had a scar. He wondered if his scar would look like a lightning bolt. Then he could tell people he was Harry freaking Potter!!! Oh God, he was such a dork.
His rambling mind was interrupted by yet again a soft noise from across the room.
Oh right Kurt.
He looked over to the bed next to his and noticed his boyfriend who appeared to be waking up.
Blaine slid out of the bed and stood up slowly.
He was a little dizzy from the meds but he managed to make his way over to Kurt’s side of the bed and lay down with him.
“B-Blaine?” Kurt questioned as the shorter boy nuzzled into his side.
“Yeah babe?” He asked kissing his forehead.
“I thought I died.” Kurt said sadly.
“Well we saved you. We’ll talk about it later. Just let me hold you and love you. Everything’s going to be alright now. I got you.” Blaine comforted him kissing him once on the lips.
“Blaine?” Kurt questioned his voice shaking with fear.
“What’s wrong sweetie?” Blaine replied pulling Kurt’s body closer to his. Damn Kurt was all skin and bones. He could feel his bones pertrudeing from his abdomen as he hugged him tighter. His hip bones digging into his side. He was so skinny. Blaine would take not of that and make sure he eats later.
“What’s wrong?” He asked again to a now crying Kurt.
“What-what if I-I wanted to die?” Kurt asked burying his head in his hands to not look at Blaine.
Blaine was hurt.
Why would Kurt want to die?
Were things really that bad that Kurt wanted to end it all?
He tried to pull himself together but he was crying too.
“Wh-why would you want that sweetie?” He asked shyly.
“Could you just stop with the pet names?” Kurt scolded.
“Sorry babe. Err. I mean sorry Kurt.” Blaine corrected himself.
Why didn’t Kurt want those terms of endearment? Typically he loved them.
“I just think it would be better for this world had I died. I’m worthless and there’s just not a reason anymore to keep going on. I gave up Blaine. I’m done. I’m done with everything.” He cried.
“You have me. Isn’t that reason enough?” Blaine questioned the hurt radiating from his voice.
“Oh come on. How could you possibly love me? After everything. I’m damaged, disgusting, and repulsive, you don’t want me. It’s easier this way. Had I tried harder I could have been dead already. It would have been easier on my parents-they would no longer have to deal with the burden I am. Easier on Finn-no longer would he be harassed for my well you know, sexuality. It’d be easier for you-you wouldn’t have to break it off. You could be done with me. Move on to someone more worth. Someone less repulsive. It’d be easier for the glee club-do you know what they go through on a daily basis to protect me, and for what? I’m not worth it. It’d even be easier for Karofsky-he’d get away with it. It’d be easier for the cops-no more investigation. Easier for the hospital-one less patient. My death would make so many people’s lives easier. But not only am I a failure living, I couldn’t even end my life properly. I hate myself.” Kurt cried, still not meeting Blaine’s gaze.
What Kurt had just said broke his heart.
How could he believe that?
He meant the world to everyone he just mentioned.
“Are you fucking kidding me?” Blaine asked now completely sobbing.
“Sorry if I upset you by talking about my fucked up life Blaine. Maybe had I been dead I wouldn’t have hurt you.” Kurt retorted.
“You’re serious? Kurt I love you. No one’s life would be easier if you were gone. You mean so much to all of the people you just mentioned. Especially me. I love you Kurt. You may not believe it but I do. I love you so much, that I would go to any lengths to keep you safe and you just want to end it? I love you. Please tell me you love me? Please?” Blaine cried.
“Of course I love you Blaine. I love you more than anything else in the world.” Kurt said wiping the tears from Blaine’s face.
“Then why’d you do it?” Blaine asked.
“Because I didn’t think you loved me. I didn’t think anyone did.” He said sadly. “I’m nothing, why would anyone care about me. I’m worthless. Hell, Karofsky taught me that.” He cried.
“You are not worthless. You are my world Kurt, and I love you.” Blaine smiled sadly.
This gave him an idea.
He grabbed Kurt tighter and began to hum out a rhythm.
“Blaine, don’t sing. We’re in a hospital.” Kurt reasoned but he was laughing. It was cheering him up.
It had been so long since Blaine had seen Kurt smile.
He couldn’t stop now.
“Pretty pretty please! Don’t you ever ever feel like you’re less than, less than perfect. Pretty pretty please if you ever ever feel like you’re nothing, you are perfect to me.” Blaine sang softly resting his head on Kurt’s chest.
“Oh. Pretty pretty please! Don’t you ever ever feel like you’re less than, less than perfect. Pretty pretty please if you ever ever feel like you’re nothing, you are perfect to me.” He sang again.
“Blaine, I love you.” Kurt cried.
“I love you too. You’re going to get better Kurt. I know it.” He said cheerfully.
“Hey Blaine?” Kurt questioned.
“Yeah sweetie?” he replied.
“Why are you wearing a hospital gown?” Kurt questioned.
“Because, my dear!” Blaine said tapping Kurt on the nose. “You needed an organ donor.” He said softly.
Kurt began to cry, “Oh my god, Blaine. I’m such an ass. I said all that earlier about wishing I was dead, and you’re the one who saved me. Oh god, I’m so ungrateful. How could I doubt that you didn’t love me? I’m so sorry Blaine, I didn’t know.” Kurt cried.
“Shhh, it’s okay baby. You’re fine, we’re going to be okay. I love you that’s all that matters. Plus you would have done the same for me in a heartbeat. Oh and for future reference when we’re married and old we’re compatible matches in case one of us needs something or another.” Blaine smiled.
Kurt smiled at the fact Blaine still wanted to marry him.
He would be okay.
As long as he had Blaine.
“I love you.” Kurt said simply. Pulling Blaine into a deep and passionate kiss.
“And I love you too.”
