Author's Notes: It's really short, even for my standards. But you see, this was just a set up. Something that needed to happen in order for the next chapter to come into play. Okay? Okay.Thank you for reading my story!!!I hope you are liking it so far :)Enjoy!!!!

They sat quietly in the waiting room for hours. They knew nothing, but at the same time knew things weren’t okay.

Doctors rushed back and forth through the hospital. Whispering things to each other and moving around machinery while holding onto files.

“Hello, are you Kurt Hummel’s family?” A petite nurse asked.

“Yes, yes we are. How is he? Is he okay? Can we see him?” Carole questioned him.

“I’m afraid I have some sad news for you. Please follow me in to this room and I will explain.” She said gesturing the empty room they had been in just days ago after the initial attack.

“Sure.” Burt said as the followed her.

“I’m sorry to say that his chances of recovery are very slim. We tried our hardest but we doubt he’ll recover. You see it was a very high grade of pain relievers that he overdosed on. And it wasn’t a typical overdose. The medication went straight to his blood stream, typically they would be ingested orally and we’d be able to simply pump his stomach but since it went directly into his blood stream there was little we could do. He took an extremely high dosage as is, but to have taken the excessive amount that he did it was a miracle we were even able to restart his heart. Nearly all of his organs have shut down, some even failing. We have been working for hours to try and stabilize him, but as of now nothing seems to be working and he’s on life support but unresponsive. I’m sorry to have to tell you this, but you might want to start making phone calls and arranging things for a funeral.” The doctor said grimly.

“No, this can’t be happening. This can’t be happening. No no no. This. Can’t. Be. Happening.” Blaine said openly crying.

“Are you sure you’ve done everything you can?” Burt asked trying to be practical at a time like this.

“Yes, all that can tell now is time. But I’d start preparing yourselves emotionally. Like I said early, the chances of recovery are slim. Not to mention his body was already so weak from the prior incident.” The doctor said.

The family hugged each other and said silent prayers.

What were they going to do?

“Can-can we at least see him?” Blaine asked tears still rolling down his face.

“I’m not sure if that is a good idea.” The nurse replied.

“Please, you don’t understand. I love him. I need to see him. Please. Even if it’s only for a minute, I just need to see him. To be there with him. I can’t let him go without a goodbye. Please.” Blaine pleaded.

“Okay, I’ll try to make arrangements for you to visit. But they still need to stabilize him some more before he can have visitors.” She explained.

“Thank you.” Carole said softly.

The nurse walked away and the family was left speechless.

For the second time this week Kurt had left them.

The first time things were bad and they worried they’d never see him again, but then he woke up and things were okay, and now he’s gone again.

He’s gone.

And what if he doesn’t come back this time?

The doctors said they’d tried there hardest.

There was nothing left to be done.

But wait.

And how long would they wait.

Blaine knew this answer, for Kurt he would wait forever.

He loved Kurt and he would never give up hope.

He would stay strong.

And hopefully Kurt would pull through and they could be together.

But.

But what if he didn’t pull through?

But what is he never woke up?

Or if things to a turn for the worst and he died.

Or what if he woke up and tried it all over again.

So many scenarios ran through Blaine’s mind.

He pushed them all away and blinked his eyes shut.

Kurt would be okay he told himself.

Even he wasn’t convinced by this.

But at least it gave him hope.

Hope?

Yeah, hope.

End Notes: TBC. I'm not sure when I'll update again, but for sure before tomorrow evening. Thanks for reading.Feel free to comment, reviews wanted :)
